Bama gal here. though for the next two months I am working in Ft Myers Florida. I got masters at UA back in the day. Bear Bryant day that is.

Actually, we are in AL a lot in the spring and summer. We have a place at Lake Martin. So I guess I'm an honorary AL resident!

I'm from Bama but have been transplanted to east TN. But my heart is in Sweet Home AL! I have 2 daughters, one at Jax State and one at USA in Mobile. I love Mobile! Looking forward to going down next month as soon as the semester is over so I can really explore. Any suggestions IdahoAngel?

I wish I could tell you what to do there....but I'm still learning the area. Will be moving there next month. I know ONE person, my sweetie, and he isn't up on all the 'girl' things to do. I'm told there's some good shopping across the bay....I'm determined to find out asap! Let me know what you find to do, please!

I'm going to Mobile next week woohoo! My DD25 lives there and she loves it! I've been down a couple of times but this times she's been there long enough to know some new places to show me. Yes there is outlet shopping across teh bay and FAirhope is a cool place. I've been to Dauphin Island and caught a ferry across the bay to Ft. Morgan and the beach is so beautiful - national seashore, very natural and unspoiled. Anyway, hope your move south goes well and I'll update you about my trip soon.

Speaking of our weather, how did everybody like the past couple of days of 95-98 degrees!!! I just pray its not 110- 115 with this humidity in August like it was last year!!
