Hey Lora,
I just moved to Westborough a couple of years ago. Really haven't ventured into Boston much. I'd like to learn my way around, but I'm terrified of the traffic and seem to get lost in cities. I am willing to venture to the east, though. If there was an easy-to-find place in Framingham or Wellesley area, that would work. Any other takers? -Paul |

We used to have regular meets nearby in Nashua (rib place near Pheasant Lane Mall), one in Woburn (TGI Fridays), a couple of times in Tewksbury (IHOP), once in Seacoast NH (at MaryMary's daughter's restaurant) and there was a also a Boston group which had Boston meets.
I had an email from another oldie from this group who wants to meet up sometime! Maybe some others will see this thread ... we always used to start back up in the springtime .. I'd be up to it! |

Alas, being an Urbanite I don't drive a car! LOL I'm willing to meet up anywhere on the commuter rail for an afternoon visit.

How about Woosta, would that be central enough for everyone? There's a T stop right at Union Station.

Wow. Sudden flurry of activity
![]() Since I started the thread, I'd be willing to set something up. I'd like feedback on the following: 1. Town: Worcester is OK with me. I'm willing to go a bit east if necessary (a little closer for Tada and Lora). 2. Venue: Ruby Tuesday is a favorite of mine, but very open to new places. 3. Agenda/goals of the meeting. @Tada: we could schedule a meeting on the same day as a 5K in the area. Make it more worth your while. @ Lora: I'm sure we could arrange for a T pick-up and drop-off. Thanks for the interest. -Paul |

Hey Paul - I actually just heard from another member who used to come to our old meets ... and two others in the last few months who would be interested in a North o' Boston meet - those meets always tended to be northwest of Boston, but we always based it on who was coming ... but I will start a different thread for that meet when I hear back from some of the other folks who used to meet up so we don;t gum up your thread ...
One of those people is Breezy - I think she lives out your way, you might want to pm her too since central would probably be closer for her. PaulineLast edited by TaDa! : 03-27-2008 at 09:41 AM. |

Hi Guys!
Thanks for the email Paul and thanks to Pauline for hooking me up! I live in Gardner and would love to meet up. I work in Marlborough on the weekends so am down that way around dinner time. It's right off of 495. Isn't Westborough close to Marlborough Paul? Is there a commuter rail station around there? I know there is one in Framingham and I thought there was one in Northborough but I may be mistaken. Anyway, let's figure out something because when I used to hook up with TaDa and the other girls, we had such a good time .Hugs, Doreen

Westborough is next door to Marlborough. And yes, there is a T stop in Westborough, but it's not very busy on weekends. If need be, I'm sure some kind of shuttle service can be arranged to Framingham. ![]() Once I hear back from other folks with some ideas, maybe we can set something up for early May. -Paul |

Hi -- I've been looking for support meetings in the Boston area (I'm in Wayland, near Framingham) for a couple of years. I lost 100 lb on Atkins over two or three years, never lost all I had to, and have been fluctuating ever since. I don't intend to throw cold water on those who want to meet at a restaurant, because obviously everybody has different needs and goals for get-togethers, but I wonder if anyone else out there wants regular meetings to provide ongoing support. I don't mind traveling an hour and I'm happy to help organize. Cheers

Not sure if you guys got your groups in action, but I'd love to join one!! I'm just outside of Boston and would love to join a city group or as mentioned above, a northshore group! Hopefully somebody can't get in touch with me!

Hi Karazona,
I've been meaning to put something together fairly soon in the Marlborough or Framingham area. Certainly by month's end, so keep an eye out. Thanks, Paul |
