**~~ UK EUROPE MARCH THREAD~~**

Just wanted to start out this month on a good note!!! Hpe everyone is doing ok. It is a beautiful day here and I am looking forward to Spring.

Ok I read this and I thought it might be a good. I was reading it as I had my tea this morning. I have found some vanilla carmel tea no carbs, 2 packets splenda, and two spoonfulls heavy cream makes me feel like I am doing something really bad. So I hope this is helpful.

Can you change your unhealthy habits to healthy ones? Sure, why not?

It’ll take some discipline and willpower in the beginning, but after a few weeks, you’ll see how your new routine will become the norm.

1) Eating late at night – make yourself a meal bedtime. Put eating to sleep at 6, or 7, or 8 o'clock, whatever is realistic for you. Make your eating bedtime at least two hours before you actually go to bed.

2) Not exercising – Get a friend to join you three days a week for a walk before you start your day. Make a commitment to each other and hold each other accountable. You may want to impose a penalty – $10 every time you miss a workout?

3) Eating too much sugar, bread or fast food - It’s tough to reduce intake. Easier, I have found, to take it out altogether. So if sugar, or coffee, or soda is your nemesis, take that option off the table, entirely. You will be amazed at how powerful, and healthy, you feel once you do.

4) Beating yourself up – this is a big one. Do you look at what you are wearing and pick out everything you don’t like? Do you curse yourself for eating too much? Stop it!

Becoming aware of what you are doing is the first step. When you notice yourself doing it, reverse it by saying something nice – even if you don’t believe it at first. Force yourself to praise yourself - surely you can find something that you appreciate about you.

This will change how you see yourself, how you feel about yourself, and ultimately how you treat yourself. That means the behavior that you have been doing that has given you license to get down on yourself will stop.

Healthy habits – get some.

Can I play?!!

Hello everyone,

I am fairly new on the board and haven't posted in the UK thread before - hope you all don't mind if I join you

Had a bad day yesterday and blew my diet out of the water...am back on track today though and hopefully put all the evil food behind me!!

I cannot wait for spring/summer...it was a bit spring-like today and it made me feel a hundred times happier.

Right, off to have my chicken caesar now cos my stomach's growling big time..

Nice to meet you all,

Sally

Sally.

I think all of us are ready for some springtime. We really need it. Thank the Lord the evenings aren't so dark now, and by the end of the month we will be into British Summer Time.

Where do you live Sally? I split my time between London and Devon, though I am off to Australia soon to visit my DD2 who currently live there, MintQ8 on these boards, Vicky to me! I cant wait.

We love to welcome new LC friends, but I think we must be a bit weird, cos we loose a lot too!

Please stay and play.

Let's make this a really positive month. Cosmic got us off to such a good start.

Perhaps each of us could try to find something that has gone right for us every day, whether food related or not.

Kind of the reverse of our whinge thread.

So: Today I ate on plan all day and resisted going to the pub which is a Sunday night tradition when we are in London.

Hello

I am also new to the board, and would like to join this thread! I am from the UK but I live in Switzerland at the moment. Soon to be returning home! I did a week of reduced carbs, then got right into induction. I am just beginning the second week of that, and I have so far managed to go from 176 to 167 pounds. It has all slowed down now though, but I'm keeping up on the exercising and the positive thinking (which helps a lot!)

Main aim is to drop a dress size by May, as I am getting married and I want to to fit into a really nice dress! The side effect of getting fit and healthy is pretty good too!

Thanks for including me!

Hi, Sally, welcome.

I'm not sure what's going on with me. My weight is actually up a bit, yet I feel like my clothes are hanging off. It's not like I've been exercising all that much either.

No cheating over the weekend, though maybe more snacking than I should have done. Maybe that's why I was up a bit this morning. And I drank a heck of a lot of tea yesterday!

Big effort this week to avoid overindulging in my downfalls - like cream - and trying to get the weight going back in the right direction.

Hello everyone and thank you for making me feel so welcome!

I live on the Bucks/Northants border and work in the wonderful city of Milton Keynes ()

I have been trying to follow strict Atkins induction since New Years day and so far I have lost 24 pounds.

Since my binge on Saturday, however, I am thinking that I might switch to a more South Beach-looking plan because I am a bit concerned that I am not eating enough fibre..have tried psyllium husks but to be honest it was like drinking wallpaper paste - not good!!

Anyway, I have rambled on enough and bored you all to tears - Kissa, I can talk as much twaddle as the next person!!

Have a good day everyone!

Sally

well done on yr loss so far sally. is the switch to south beach cos of aherm bathroom issues or motivated with wanting other stuff?? are u still on induction or moved onto OWL now?

jfm its prob just some water weight is tom due?? dont worry it will soon pass,,, isnt it weird we worry so much abut the scale weight even when we can see a positive difference, i hate that i slump when the scale says more than i want it to when before i got on it i might have felt a slim day....spose we will never rid ourselves of that will we.....oooh that got all psychotherapisty (is that a word?)

am still so full up from yesterday i havent eaten yet today but when i do it will be lowcacrb sausages with savoy cabbage or some roasted veg

You must buy the psyllium husks in capsule form or they are just as you described

Flax helps me too and everyone loves a One Minute Muffin! Doesn't work for everyone.

I finished my ironing today!

Posting together Shy!

Meant to say fantastic loss too.

Well done Cosmic.

Don't worry JFM it will be fine. Try to avoid those scales. (Says me who is on there every single morning if I am in London, not so much in Devon, I don't trust the scales there!)

Hi Mimosa, we had hail here this morning after a glorious start to the day. Snow on the way for a lot of us tomorrow.

Thank you! I can't quite believe I have lost as much as that either!

I am still on strict induction and I guess I have been for about 8 weeks now..that's why I am thinking that I probably need to change things up a bit before I start to get bored.
And bathroom issues are definitely the other reason (little bit too much info there methinks!)

Does anyone else have snow where they are at the moment?? One minute it was like summer and now it's like the north pole out there!!!

Right, time to get the snow chains on the car for my drive home from work..argghh..watch out..polar bear!!!

Physillum husks since alread bought the stuff you can still use it...Just sprinkle in on salads and find out foods to sneak it into.

I am happy. So something positive. Well...My niece hugged me told me I was her best frind today. She is four. My mom told me she can see my weight loss in my face. My dog and I were playing in the yard and she jumped up, accidently pulling my sweat pants down.

Ok I gave you a giggle, and I will check in tomorrow. I was down 3 pounds this morning. WOO HOO

OHh and I had steam broc, grilled chicken, mushrooms, and alfredo sauce on it for dinner.

Hi everyone!

No time for a long post, just a fly by, really...

All is very well, I´m still loved up, and feeling like a teenager! Food wise, I´m still on the infatuation diet, so not much is actually going in... I just lost my appetite! Hopefully it will come back at some point, as I´m really not trying to lose any more weight, and definitely not in this way!

Well, that´s all, I´ve got to try and get my work done, as I´ve been with my head in the clouds, and so not concentrating very well!

xxx.

Right..have made an executive decision

To eat whole, unrefined carbs a la South Beach.

I did think of OWL but I am craving something 'fibre-y' (I know, v. strange thing to say!) so I think I will try similar foods to SB.

If the worst comes to the worst and it all goes pear shaped, at least I will be able to go back on Atkins Induction if I need to.

Had baked sweet potatoes last night and parsnips (pure heaven!) and although I have noticed a little bit of water weight on my fingers (rings are tighter), I am hoping this will be the way to go.

How's everyone else doing loss-wise (and otherwise!)??
