Hello Linda Sue and Jennifer. Sorry I didn't reply but my computer was down. Anyway "WELCOME" I'm thinking of starting this gathering at the low carb challenge. What do you think? Let me know. I live northwest from houston, I think, I live by copperfield area. My kids go to Cy-Fair school districts. I've also been low carbing off and on, i did lose about 50lbs doing atkins, but right now i'm low carb high fiber plan and i take in about 125 carbs a day, and i also run 4 miles 5 days a week and i strength train 3 times a week. Let me know what your eating plan is and if you do any kind of exercise, i would love to know what kind of cardio everybody is doing. HELLO ALL I WORK IN SUGARLAND AND COULD ALWAYS USE A LITTLE EXTRA SUPPORT... I LIVE IN RICHWOOD BUT DRIVE HERE TO WORK. I HAVE BEEN ON THE ATKINS DIET SINCE MARCH 2002 I HAVE LOST AROUND 40 PDS... NEED ABOUT 25 MORE TO GO AND THIS SEEMS LIKE THE HARDEST.
LIKE MOST PEOPLE THE HOLIDAYS WAS THE HARDEST AND OF COURSE I BLEW IT, NOW IVE GONE BACK INTO INDUCTION AND IT SEEMS HARDER THEN THE FIRST TIME..

I follow Atkins when I'm low-carbing. I was going to reinduct last Monday, but that didn't happen. Tomorrow is my birthday so I'm going to start Sunday. I'm not exercising at all right now. I used to walk, go to Curves and do tapes but I stopped last Christmas & was never able to get back to it for any length of time. I was exercising 2 hours a day and hated every minute of it because I was forcing myself to do it no matter what. I plan to start BodyFlex Sunday & gradually work up to running / walking. I want to start slowly because I don't want to get into the mode of resenting it again.

I love the idea of a Houston challenge!

I'm in LaMarque, I work in League City. I'd be up for a Houston version of the LCF gatherings!! I lost 40lbs on Atkins January-April of 2000, then went through an emotional time and of course turned to all my comfort foods and put it right back on. So I reinducted on Jan 2 and have already lost 4lbs and rearing to go again!! Best of luck to you all!! Keep in touch!

I live in Bay City. I am interested in a low carb gathering. I started low carb on Aug. 7th and need to lose more pounds than I want to think about. One at a time right now

Kemah's PERFECT!!! So many seafood restaurants, fish galore. I am so up for it! My BF who isn't a seafood lover never really wants to go there so I hardly get any seafood. That is a great idea!!! And the camera thing is too. I have a digital one too I'll bring. And the recipe idea is fabulous!! Let's pick a date and time!! I'm having surgery this week so I'm thinking sometime in February would be lovely.

Hi, I am also new. I live in Clear Lake and would like to get together with ya'll. I work at Curves for women and have a lot of ladies who do LC. In fact the diet that Curves uses is low carb also. Curvesgirl *L* You probably do. Did you work days or nights? I always went at night. Then I moved to LaMarque and started going to her one in Texas City. Though I've been slacking these last couple months, holidays, teeth pulled, etc etc. But in February I'm starting an Exercise challenge and heading back to Curves.

I used to workout with Jessie Corbett all the time. Do you know her?

Kitara03, I am so excited to meet you on line. I cannot wait to tell Maralou. I work in the morning. But occasionally I work in the evenings for Megan. I do know some of the evening ladies. I probably know you if I saw you. Your friend sounds familiar. I totally understand about being busy. A lot of ladies came back recently after the holidays. It has been very busy this month. Carol will be glad to see you I am sure. Isn't she a lovely lady. I really love her. We got a new computer system at the CL curves and it is very nice. We will be starting a curves support group the first of Feb. I think that they will be doing that in TC too. Ask Carol or Maralou about it. I do the LC WOE but do not stay on it for long. I am going to try again and not cheat this time. They have so many great products that it shouldn't be hard. I feel so much better when I stay on the program. I do have to watch my blood sugar because it gets to low and I feel weak and shaky, especially after I work out. I for sure have to keep snacking.
It would be nice if we could meet with a group from our area. Let me know if you all meet somewhere. Thanks Sherri

Yes I love Carol to death!! She's very sweet. I never went to the CL one in the mornings only in the evenings after work, and sometimes the occasional Sat Morning when they still were open on Sat. I used to live in Searbook, but now we're renting a house from a friend of mine in LaMarque which is why I switched locations. But I'm sure we might have met somewhere along the lines *L*

Yes Maralou will remember me! I would love to join the support group. Just let me know when they meet, I will be going back to the TC on starting in Feb, hmmm may even go this week. And if they don't have one in TC I will work my way up to the CL location then, my BF works in Webster so it's not far. I'm pumped back up now! *L*

Hi Janet, We are going to have our meeting at 12:30 in the afternoon on Wed. Starting the 5th of Feb. I hope that you can make it. If not then maybe you can get Maralou or Carol to start a meeting down in TC in the evening. I think that we should start a meeting in the evening at CL but we will wait to see what the response is. Hi! I am brand new to this site. I have been reading all the information and am amazed at the information. Being diabetic, I am definitely interested in the low carb aspect of the Atkins diet. Have been on it about three months and have only lost about 10 lbs., but am fixing to start the 2-week induction again. (I am on a new prescription now and want to wait till I finish it!) Anyway, just letting everyone know that there is going to be a Atkins Seminar - the Lifestyle on Wednesday, January 29th from 6:30p.m. to 8:30 p.m. here in Houston at Sandys Produce & Vitamins Market on the Katy Freeway. It will be hosted by Colette Heimowitz, M.S. Director of Education & research for Atkins Health & Medical Information Services. "Sandy's" carries more Atkins & low carb products than any one store I have found. I personally am looking for "Keto" products in a store. I know you can order them, but I would prefer a local store. Know of one?????

Mec I would LOVE to attend. But I don't think I'll make it in time, with traffic and I'm way down in LaMarque and working til 5. But I'll keep Sandy's in mind. Where exactly on the Katy Freeway??? I would love to check the place out?? I have a friend out in Katy so I venture out that way every now and then.

I may not be able to make it either, but I would like to. They said they will be giving out free samples, and I have a few questions.

When you are heading west (towards Katy) on this freeway, you get off at the Dairy Ashford exit, go under the freeway, stay on the feeder (back towards Houston), and it will be on your right in a strip with a large parking lot in front. It is kind of a strange store. Lots of fresh produce and the rest is pretty much specialty items. They have a low carb granola cereal (1 carb per serving) that is too die for. It is a great snack; however, I do believe it has malitol in it. Therefore, I will not be buying it again for a while. I'm just not losing on this diet; however, my daughter has lost 35 lbs. since October. (She loved the granola!). I believe I overdo the "legal" snacks, and my metabolism must be 0!!!! Oh well, just cannot give up. I still like the concept of low carb dieting.

Just found this board and was excited to find Houston!
I'm going LC for a second time. Last year I tried and lost 15 lbs. but gained it back +.
Have the Clear Lake meetings started? I'm over in the Galleria area and would be able to make it on Sat.
Also...for anybody over this direction I have access to free meeting space and would love to start a group in the evenings or Sat on this side of town. I'm also just down the street from "Souper Soup/Salad."

I only live a few miles from Sandy's Produce but missed the meeting. I hope they have another soon.

I just started hypnosis for weight loss. Went to my first session today. It was weird as I have never been hypnotized before. Going to my next session on Friday.

Sandi's is great -- super friendly and had lots of stuff though the manager was telling me how much trouble he's having getting stuff cuz of the Atkins producer.

Sandy's rocks!!!!! They have so many more low carb options than any other store. The granola is so good as is the flax cereal that has a nice oatmeal like texture. If you haven't gone yet you should make it a point to go!!
