Tampa/Orlando November Meet Up

Hi everyone

Well what do you all say....shall we plan a November meet up? I know some of you all said your booked up due to the holidays, but it would be nice if we could work this out anyway. The floor is open for suggestions of places and dates.

I'm free any Saturday except for Nov. 3rd as that is my 28th wedding anniversary. I don't care where it is but I would love it if it was near Port Richey this time. I have a dear friend that lives there. I need to go and see her. It's a 2 hour drive from my home to there. If I could combine both seeing her and meeting up with all of my new LCF's, that would be even better! In fact, I just called her and asked that if it works out, would she like to come to the meet up too. She said YESSSSSSSSSSS. She's 74, in poor health, and doesn't get out much and would love the chance to socialize some. She's the sweetest woman you would ever want to meet!

The Golden Corral for breakfast was great the last time. We got a bit of breakfast and lunch combined. I love having the choices that they give.

So come on everyone....let's hear your thoughts on the dates and locations. Can we get this thing planned???

Take care everyone...
Pam

New Port Richey

Pam...How wonderful you are having a meeting up North of Tampa in the New Port Richey area
for the ones who live up there...perhaps couldn't come to Tampa area last couple of times. Good Idea!!

As for us we will attend the next meeting arranged in Tampa or south of Tampa

I would be fine for the NPR area, but so far my next 2 Saturdays are booked. As of now I'm opened for Nov 17th & 24th. If I don't make it to this one, I'll try for the Dec/Jan meeting.

Tannie.....I think the suggestion was for Nov. 17th. That's OK with me and seems to be good with everyone, so far....

How about the rest of you??? Is everyone in for Nov. 17th? Place to be announced! Shall we put that date on our calander?

I won't be able to meet in Nov as I am in Ohio... but will be there in spirit!!! I arrived safely on Wed 15 min early. I had two female pilots both legs and they were excellent great take offs and landing. I am having a lovely time with my family. So far have seen all three of my children and 3 of my grandkids, my son-in-law and my sister...

On Sunday they are having a birthday party for me (I will be 68) Nov 7th - yikes I didn't know people lived to be this old! *giggle* It is 35 degrees out tonight, got up to a high of 56 today (heat wave) this old Floridian gal is freezing LOL Edna

Hi, My birthday party was a hughe success, when my daughter's computer is working better I will post pics. there were 18 of us and I saw a class mate of mine I graduated from high school 50 years ago, so I got a bonus... He just happened to be there for dinner. My grandkids call me grandma and that works with me, now my girlfriends grandkids call her Nana and that works for her, so you will just have to find out what is comfortable for all y'all. Edna Have a great gathering.

Hello All!
Sorry I have been absent! I have been really busy and then I had trouble finding this thread until I reread pams note on exactly where to go to find it I guess sometimes I miss things the first time around!!
Barnhills is right around the corner from me, so of course I'll go! It is really one of the better buffets. So is it Nov 17? What time were you all thinking about? Let me know.
Pam, are you bringing your friend from up here? Who else is coming?
Carol-it's really not that much further than where we were in Tampa-I also have a winter coat that I have never worn that you can have for your trip....
Jan- please explain the pups thing....I saw one post, but don't know exactly what is going on......
Talk to you all soon!

Julie...you are a sweetheart for reaching out to encourage me...I always want to come but I have this awful problem with poor circulation and aching legs now when I drive and keep them down too long...I wish I had a recliner in my car.

Although I am going to give it a try this time just because I really did want to meet with you all.

You say it is not really too much further.

I will be able to meet around 11 noon or 1pm cause I want to be home before dark.

I am all set with my winter coat although what size is yours?

Hope we all can make a meeting in St Peteersburg Bradenton or Sarasota sometime

How about Christmas?

St Petersburg is managable
Bradenton is best
Sarasota is also managable

to all

PS I am excited that I just went down 3 lbs since Nov 1

Hey everyone-or should I say where is everyone? Are we still on for Saturday?
Carol-the coat is a size 4x-even though I think it seems biggger. It is red and looks nice and warm-I think it even has a hood!
I am not opposed to coming even closer your way to help with the ride. Mongolian grill would be even closer for you-I guess it depends on Pam too, coz she is meeting a friend I think, but I'm not sure if the friend is coming to lunch or not. Maybe they will let us know this week and we can make some concrete plans. Can't wait to see you all-hope you're all doing well!

Carol,

I'm here too, just haven't been posting much lately. Busy and all, as I'm sure everyone understands.

Emilee and I will be there this coming Sat. too. I can't tell everyone how much I appreciate this working out to be in the NPR area. It's a 2 hour drive for us, and it will help me soooooooooo much to see all of you, and my friend Mary, on the same trip. My friend from Port Richey will come to breakfast/lunch too, if her health holds up between now and then, and you all will love her too. She's the sweetest lady..... and she's really looking forward to the socializing. She hardly ever gets to go out so this is a REAL treat for her.

I also want to throw an offer out to anyone that wants some. A store I go to has, or I should say HAD (the last time I was there a couple of weeks ago) the Hero brand SF jams in strawberry and raspberry, for 2 for $1. I believe the LC store we all went to had it for somewhere around $5 per jar. I will go to this store again the end of this week and will pick up some for anyone that would like some. Jann and Julie, I have your orders already, so Carol, or Tannie, or anyone else that would like to come along, would any of you like some of them? I'm hoping they still have them in stock. It's a close out store, sort of, and it's hit or miss. They also had the SweetNLow brand of Strawberry flavored syrups for 2 for $1. I bought one of these but haven't opened it yet. It's like the Hershey's syrups you put in milk or on ice cream I think. I can't find an expiration date on it anywhere but I would think it would be OK either way. Plus for 50 cents, how can you go wrong???

Soooooooooooo if anyone wants any of these above mentioned things, just let me know and if still availability, I'll be more than happy to pick them up for you!!!

I can't wait until next Sat. to see you all again. I really look forward to these meet ups and seeing my new friends!

Take care all....

Hey everyone sorry I have not been replying I just had a bad week with TOM and now swelling. I have not done anything today My Legs are really bad so Pam the going to Church this morning was only a good thought LOL

I am going to call My Dr in the morning if I get no improvement today I hate this I made the mistake of weighing and with all the swelling I am up over 40 pounds from last week. I know it is not real weight but it gets to me anyway.

We need to pick a time as I told Pam last night I am open so Carol what time works best for you?

Jann my goes out to you honestly
It seems the treatments you could get help from
have such a slow delivery until you actually get the treatment.
I am looking forward to visiting with you in NPR.

everyone here...I'm l@@king forward to our visit
Something around lunch time...does that fit for you all?

Pam...how nice of you to bring us SF helpers...I also would love a
double fudge chocolate layer cake if you can bring it along with Vanilla ice cream

Hero jams sound good...I will take two raseberry SF Hero jams.

Julie...If you bring your coat I would love to try it on

Let me know lunchtime anytime between 11:00am and 2:00pm

to all

Hello all!
How about 11 or 12? They stop serving breakfast at about 10:30-pretty early I think, but I am never an early riser on the weekends......11 or so is usually pretty good to beat the crowds. But I am the flexible one, so you all tell me.
Jan, hopefully you'll feel better soon. I know my water weight is not that extreme, but it does get to you. I wish I could stay away from the scales, but that is never gonna happen I even bought one of the old fashioned kind that is not digital, coz I always think the digital one is lying to me Now that I have two of them I can't blame it on the scale!!
Carol-I will bring the coat, it's yours for the taking. I bought it for a trip that I never took, and instead of goodwill, I am trying to give things to people I know. I am getting rid of everything as I grow out of it, coz I don't ever want an excuse to be that way again!!! In one of the clothing exchanges, a lady sent me a box of jeans! She didn't want anything in return and I was just so thrilled to get them! I will be in goodwill clothes until I hit my goal weight, and jeans are all I wear!
Okay-can't wait to see you all! Kelsey will probably be joining us.

Hey everyone.....

I don't even know where to start....but....my friend in Port Richey, well her health is failing and she told me today that she's not going to be able to go to our meet up on Saturday. She was the only reason I suggested meeting up in that area. You ALL were gracious enough to agree to that, and I really do appreciate it!! More than I can tell you. With meeting in that area, I was going to be able to meet up with her and all of my dear LC friends, at one time. For us to drive to Port Richey (where she lives) is 2 hours from my house, then another 20 minutes to the Barnhills in New Port Richey. That's roughly a 4 and 1/2 to 5 hour drive, round trip for us.

I hate to even suggest this but what does everyone think about meeting somewhere easier for all of us now? Maybe somewhere in Tampa or even the Golden Corral in Largo again? For the late breakfast/early lunch? I honestly don't know where to suggest, because I don't know that area too well. To be honest, this has been stressful to me. I am the sort of person that tries to make/keep everyone happy and when there is a group of people, it's a hard thing to do. I don't even know what to say....

Carol, I will try my best to get your 2 raspberry jams, but the last time I was there, they had more strawberry, than raspberry. If they have any left at all, and only strawberry, would strawberry do? I'll do my best for you!

Please everyone, let's hear your comments on all of this, and we'll see what works out. I'm truly sorry for this mess and even suggesting a change again.....

Pam

Julie...11 am is fine...Thank You for the two scale concept it was so funny to me something that sounds familiar

Pam sweetie

You have nothing to regret at all. I think your just wonderful I am sorry to hear your friend is not well enough to join us. Can you still visit her?

I have my son here now from the west coast for one month and he is my personal weightloss and exercise coach. He is here to assist me.
My problem is I have been trying to get back my abilities to walk and I prolly should not have made mention here.
I didn't want to do anything to intefere with my therapy it will be going on until the trip up north.

Without the therapy I wouldn't make it to travel by air and I want to so badly I have not been up to see my home town and family there for 4 years.

I am achy from the extra exercise and movement therapy but with out it I will not get out of my wheelchair and I want to lose my wheelchair if at all possible.

I willread here to see whateveryone says and I will go along with the rest of you.

The jam I will take any flavor and Thank You!!

That's OK Pam, don't fret over it, stuff happens.

I would also love some of that jam too, whatever flavor you get is OK with me.

So where are we meeting up at?

Tannie,

How many jams would you like? Like I've said though, HOPEFULLY they still have some left. I will do my best for all of you!

Also, Jann and Julie, please remind me how many you all wanted. I should have written it down when you told me.

Doesn't any one want any of the strawberrry syrup?

I'm not sure where we're meeting at this point. I just feel like I've screwed this whole thing up..... Someone please decide for us.

Jann and Julie, your still coming right???? PLEASE say yes!!!

Hi all!
Whatever you all decide is fine with me! Golden corral is good-you all won't have to drive as far and it is not too bad for me. How is 11?
Sorry about your friend Pam.......maybe another time. If you get to the store I say buy whatever and we can fight over them when we get there
Wish I had found a goodie to share
Let me know what we decide. Golden corral is also closer for Jan and Tannie.
Carol that is awesome about your son! Hang in there and you will be through with that wheelchair for good before you know it!!! Look how far you've come already! Sometimes for me it's easier when I try to look at what I've accomplished so far instead of how much farther I have to go. What a wonderful son you must have raised! Sore muscles is a good sign! I try to remember that whenever I cough and my abs hurt! Ha Ha!
Talk to you all soon!

Hey Pam we wanted 4 and I told you I would try the Strawberry syrup and to get me one. I wonder how they would do in Cheesecake? I use Davinci in them now.

The Golden Corral in Largo is fine with me we can do a late Breakfast which is cheaper if you get in there before 11am or a later Lunch I will be there regardless LOL

Ohhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyyy Tannie....did I hear something about coconut cream pie??

Hey all, how about 10:30? Isn't breakfast over at 11? That way some of us can have a small omelet before breakfast comes out. Does that work for everyone? If it's too early for some of you, that's fine, we can all just meet inside and the ones that want to go a bit earlier, can. Since we'll know before going how many will be there, we'll get a big enough table to seat everyone together.

Sooooooooo how does that sound?
I'll go to that grocery store on Thurs. to see if they still have the jams and syrups. Hopefully they will!!!

See you all on Saturday morning!
Pam
