He's going into sixth form, studying health & social care, it's just up his alley, like round peg in a round hole!! He'll probably work with older people or special needs children, he likes the younger ones as they don't take the mickey out of him and he can talk for england so as long as he learns to listen he'd be great with older people too . . . ![]() The tent pic looks like I'm surveying my land . . . ![]() ![]() Cosmic, it's a bit humid here today but there's definitely a cooler breeze, I've also noticed the leaves are falling off of the trees and my virginia creeper is changing from green to orange. Autumn is on the way. Kissa - It would be great to have an indian summer, we're putting the tent up this weekend (yet again <sigh>) for a birthday sleep-over, should be fun, lots of teenagers!! ![]() I hope it stays fine for them . . . How was your weekend away? Are they enjoying married life?

They are LOVING married life! Getting more than any of us if you get my meaning?
The leaves are definitely changing colour and the blackberries are ripening on Hampstead Heath. I have just made the chocolate 1 minute muffin using almond flour and coconut oil. It turned out very well but I would prefer it with butter! I have never 'baked' on Atkins before this week, I am amazed how successful these recipes are. |

How lovely to see everyone so busy on the thread again. Where to start, well I think it has to be Maryam first:
a) I used to love mornings!!! b) Eid isn't fair...it moves around too much, well the Ramadan one does anyway! c) Haven't noticed any difference in my skin yet, only started it last week, and my skin is 60 remember. Next, Shy. a) You are such an earth Mother, freezing blackberries and making Sloe Gin, do you make jam too, or is that too much sugar in the house? I'll have to pop by to help with the blackberry vodka, I don't really do gin, though once it has been 'Sloed' it isn't too bad! b) Hope the school year goes better for DS. c) Holiday in the sun...good for you, though on your past record isn't this a bit scary? Usually one of your family seems to fall ill if there is a whisper of a holiday And you Lou. a) Baking bread! Another domestic Goddess. I saw Xanthum Gum in Sainsbury's last week but the only time I have had it was in OZ with Vicky and I wasn't too impressed with the texture in a curry we were thickening. b) The recipe is on the boards. I will look it up. Of course I mess about with it, I am incapable of following anything to the letter, but I will use butter next time. Lovely day here today, you would love it Cosmic. How you? For the recipe/s read the 'Thank you 4 the 1 minute muffin recipe' thread.

Shy - Egypt is such a mystical place, I'd love to go. I have a lot of history tied up in Egypt, my dad was born there and Flinders Petrie was a relative, so I'm fascinated by all things egyptian . . .

Kissa - Yep Eid moves around! And not just the Ramadan one!
We actually have 2 Eids. Eid al Fitr (the Ramadan one) and Eid al Adha about 2 months later! The Islamic calendar is lunar rather than solar, thus the moving around! Coconut Oil - I have noticed that dry rough heels are smoother! Very important in a place where sandals are year around wear!Shy - I would love to visit Egypt, except it's full of Egyptians! Having lived in the Middle East for almost 15 years, I can honestly say, they aren't my favorite people. DBF spent a few month there and HATED it, though he did say I would love the historical part. Hope you make it. Lou - We don't really have a SET plan for Eid. We just kinda do whatever we feel like. DBF always takes his son to his father's house for lunch so my kids and I will maybe go to lunch and a movie. But I ALWAYS get each them a new outfit (2 if i can afford it) and make a trip to Toys R Us to spend their Eidia!!!! |

I intend to, Will be seeing ether Bourne movie or Atonement. DH and I usually go out to lunch together then on to the cinema on a Sunday if we aren't busy doing anything else. It is really nice.
Did a 2 hour gym workout today, aerobics and toning. I've got to try to beat my August time!!!! Love to all. |

Hi all,
Kissa - I always have a few books on the go for different purposes . . I'm reading 'Stark' by Ben Elton, in the bath, 'Billy' by Pamela Stephenson, light reading when there's no telly, Harry Potter III and Lord of the Rings in bed and then there's The New Scientist and Deposits mags that I enjoy reading. There are a couple of others about WWII that I'm reading too. You're really good with sticking to your exercise goals Kissa, that's probably why you're at goal, I'm aiming to beat my few hours of exercise from last month . . . ![]() Shy - He's not for target practice!! LOL ![]() Blondie, Cosmic, Maid. |
