Columbus Ohio, and other close!

Hey ya'll, I know this is the wrong place for this thread, but I noticed that a lot of people don't check the local board, so hopefully some of you will see it before it's moved.

I am in Columbus, Ohio. There are a couple of us who are really interested in getting a group together to meet up once a month or something similar to that. I really would like to have some real life low carb friends to plan things with and so on. I don't have a lot of particulars yet, but I would truly like to organize this with meetings and what not. Not like "Hi, my name is Airica and I am a carboholic." type meetings, but fun stuff, and challenges. I think that I would really benefit from something like this, and I would love to help others get to their goal as well. There is always a higher success rate when others are depending on you to succeed. Not to mention when you have people who know exactly what you are going through and are willing to help you get through the tough times!

Is anyone interested? I am also interested in a workout buddy if anyone is looking. I am in Westerville (north end of Columbus) anyone close?

you could try posting in the Playground, sometimes they let them stay if you don't call it a LC get together, just an "Ohio LCF" ....worth a shot!

Zenn ~~ How are you doing? Wekk enough to have lost 20 pounds huh? That rocks? You started 5 days after me and doing mighty well! How old are ya? I am 23. You are what about an hour and a half from Columbus? I'm not quite sure I remember. I know that I come out there for the Haunted Hollow RIde in the fall. But it has always been dark and well, maybe I was a little "not sober" and not driving either, LOL.

HEY another Ohioian here

I drive thru Westerville on my way to work everyday, I live in Marengo which is pretty close so Westerville. My Mum still lives in North Westerville, on Worthington Galena Rd. I used to live in Westerville years ago were the newer Meijers is on 3C Highway. Move to Powell and then to Marengo, to much building in the Powell area and w/Equines got to have room for them to roam

I work down around Westerville Rd & Morse Rd. area, I am 44 yrs old. Did you go to Westerville North/South Schools?

I'm doing good, but those stats aren't accurate! I wish they were!

Yea, it's about 1.5 hours from you, straight down 71! I'm 29, will be 30 in 6 days!

Zenn ~~ A Leo huh? Oh man, that's a lotta sass between the two of us LOL...MY bday is on the 21st of August...and I'll be 24. What is your schedule like? Do you have a family and what not that you would need to work around?

Teehee...well, I'm in Cincy, but have friends (and more?) in Columbus and I expect we'll be visiting fairly frequently. LOL Had been traveling to Northeast Ohio every couple of weeks...but now that my beloved is moving down HERE (in 5 days - YAY!), well, we'll probably visit occasionally, but not like I have been.

Love Is.... I grew up in Toledo... Went to Rogers and UT and then flew like a bat outta there. Was there last in 2001.

LOL Peggi, I don't mind being the "old lady" a bit. I am about to turn 53. It doesn't feel near so old as it sounds.

As for ideas, I have a few. If we wanted to eat, there are tons of good places. If anyone wants to go to Polaris Mall, they have a food court. The Firdous restaurant there has a low carb salad with gyro meat on top. There is also a Firdous rest. at the North Market. (honestly, I am not related to them). Many steak house type places all around the area, Max & Ermas, Fridays, Cap City, etc.

Non food ideas.. Have you ever been to Ohio Caverns, okay, not in columbus, but about an hour away, walking underground to see jewel like caverns on a guided tour. Then up the torturous steps at the end. Nice and cool down there too. Most of my other ideas are shopping or window shopping ideas. I like to visit Whole Foods. And Eddie Bauer outlet store. There is always the Franklin Park Conservatory if you want to walk around and see flowers, plants, art, etc. It does have a ticket to enter. Art museum is nice. The short north has galleries with various types of art, we could wander around down there & get a little exercise mixed in with the art viewing. Probably a couple possibilities for lunch or dinner down there as well. If you like art (obviously I do, lol) the Cultural Arts Center is free and has frequently changing art exhibits, and the building is historical as well. Speaking of history, the historical society museum is interesting, but will be kind of blocked off during the fair due to parking issues. Okay, that's about all my of the top of my head ideas for now.

Other ideas, feedback please.

Okay all, it is time to decide on something so that this plan doesn't fade into a memory. I am guessing that moe people would be willing to do something on a weekend day. So this will be set for a Saturday or a Sunday in August. So the weekends I'm thinking are either the 11th or 12th OR the 18th or 19th. I personally like Sunday, but I am open for Saturday too.

And I really like the Ohio Caverns idea (thanks dee

), any others like it as well? There is another thing going on in Columbus that I think might be interesting. The Bodies Exhibition, anyone familiar with it? BODIES...The Exhibition Seems kinda cool....but costs 18 bucks a person to get in.
