sugar-free syrups
Cash & Carry has a TON of flavors, all for about $3.50. Both Davinci's and Torani, and another brand.
They have other stuff, too; it's kind of like Costco on a small scale. And you don't need a membership. The one I went to: 1155 NW Ballard Way Seattle, WA 98107 (206) 789-7242 It's by the big Fred Meyer. I think there are other locations, as well. |

Just skimming over this thread for the first time in a while. All these refs to Puyallup make me think of the Puyallup Fair, which of course brings to mind funnel cakes, deep-fried Twinkies, etc.
Capitol Hill restaurant tips - Smith on 15th has some unusual carnivoria, like marrow bones, but something about the place puts me off. The Subway on 15th is good, because you can get the sandwich meat and cheese on a salad. Trader Joe's on 17th & Madison has some good specialty meats, eg, nitrate-free bacon and sausage. I haven't shopped there in a while, but the last time I went, the ground beef and frozen chopped spinach were cheaper than they were at the Safeway three blocks east. There are no Romio's Pizza and Pasta restaurants on Capitol Hill, but they are in other parts of Seattle. I ate at the one on Greenwood, a couple blocks east of the Fred Meyer, a few days ago. I hadn't been to one in a couple of years, and I was surprised to see that they have low - carb versions of their pizza and pasta menus. I don't know what their pasta substitute is, but I had a good crustless pizza. It was the toppings of their Chicken Thai pizza: cubed white meat chicken, spinach and red onions, with Thai peanut sauce and mozzarella cheese, cooked w/ olive oil. I'm sure the peanut sauce had some sugar in it, but they have other, more conventional pizza toppings that don't. It was a very hearty meal for one. One order is plenty for two, esp. if you each order a side salad.

Hi Doug!
![]() More Capitol Hill recommendations: Piecora's Pizza has buffalo wings without breading, you can get them with ranch or blue cheese. They don't come with celery like the should, but still good Their salads are good, too, and come with cheese & olives.Cobb salads are good at the Deluxe and at Charlie's. The Broadway Grill has a good chopped salad, as does Pagliacci's (and they deliver!) The burgers at Septieme have been excellent, but I haven't been there in a couple of years, so I'm not 100% on recommendation. Hmm. In the International District, I love to get chinese roast pork at Kau Kau, and Hing Loon will cook whatever you want - I get chinese broccoli with shrimp and tell them to please use oil and garlic and ginger, but no starch or sauce.
