thanks for startin us a new thread lou

sorry i havent been around but was rushed into hospital on sat by ambulance and they have only just let me out..

seems i have gallstones and need to have my gallbladder removed .. am so angry (oops should this be on whinge theread) cos i have been getting these attacks for over a year and kept asking are u sure its not gallstones but they kept insisting it wasnt...well this time i got taken to basildon hospital and they scanned me and sure enough i am packed with stones and my gallbladder is deterioating (hardly surprising after a year of this is it)

unfortunately couldnt have it done there and then cos they have to wait for the inflammation to go down but hopefully it wont be too long

downside is i have to eat low fat (EEEKKKK!!!!) til i get it done but after that i should be able to eat normally again.. consequently have lost yet more pounds and am now 10st 10.. havent been 10 anything since i was 20!!!.. really dont want to lose anymore but as i cant eat much looks like i have no choice

so thats my excitement for the week .. what about everyone else??

xx

I wondered where you were, that sounds terrible. Will you be pain free once it's done?

Low fat hmmmmmmmm, needs must.

Sorry to hear that shy. Good news is that the pain will be gone after surgery. I had mine removed about five years ago. They did it keyhole (laproscopically). I was sore, but it really wasn't that bad. It was day surgery as well.

I can eat whatever I want now, no pain, but (everyone else cover your ears)....if I overeat fat, I get loose bowel movements. The gotta go right NOW type. When I say fat, I mean really too much, like a greasy fried meal of fish and chips. That sort of thing, which I don't eat anymore anyway. Yet another good reason for eating healthier.

Good news that you're pain free. Do you have to take medication or is it all systems go?

I am ok. Just down. I gave my notice at work. I will be gone end of the month. So everything is very sad at the moment. Everyone keeps trying to talk me into staying. This will be hard the next few weeks.

My Dad keeps saying if I am miserable I can come back. The Special Friend has taken it the worst. But he coming to my house at Christmas. SO I am looking forward to that.

If I treat myself it will be SHOES.....lord ladies I managed to acquire 30 pairs while I have been here.

Nope, good as new. No pain, no meds.

Shy, I do regular Atkins, no bathroom issues. I would miss my cheese too. I love it, probably too much, LOL. Deep fried food seems to be the only thing that makes my stomach ill. I eat streaky bacon, ham, oil salad dressings, coconut oil, etc. with no problems. The only real trouble food other thing I'd caution you against is anything with malitol. That always made me sick, but it's worse for me after gallbladder removed. If i eat anything with malitol, it is only a bite, not a whole chocolate bar.

big hugs, hon.

It's sad to leave friends behind. You better come back and post in this thread even when you're back in the states. You created this monster, you know.

No. I've had drug free childbirth and gallstones. The gallbladder was so much worse. I thought I was having heart attacks and felt like I was going to die with the gallbladder. You will feel so much better after it's out.

Or it could be a giant lobster attacking a girl with a ponytail!

Does anyone know where to buy paper sandwich bags? My local Tesco has stopped selling them.

Shy~ Nah I need to sort out my family. They put so much pressure on me and want me home. I need to get them to let go. I don't think that will happen in two weeks. So....nothing is over and I will be back. But I need to go home as much as I really want to stay.

Guys I got all teary watching Property Ladder last night.

I spent 3 hours in casualty with my son. The truth finally came out last night that he wasn't wrestling with his mates but they were all messing around on a big trampoline (as you know we have a major craze of trampolines in back gardens in the UK at the moment!!) I had told him when he goes to his mates it should be one at a time or this sort of thing would happen . . .

Still . . . it could have been worse . . . we have to wait and see with his teeth but the jaw is not broken, just bruised, he can't eat on one side because of his jaw and because of his loose teeth on the other!! He had couscous and tuna, I had some water and low carb salad wraps when we got back last night.

I will have a planned 'glitch' this weekend for my birthday but will be clean the rest of the time plus I go to the gym tonight and get my new plan from a trainer on Monday, yes, you heard me right Bank Holiday Monday, instead of watching old films and munching I'll be saintly!!
