UK/Europe/World - Whinge thread!!
Right . . .
It's taken me a couple of years to comfortably wear jeans only to find them hard to do up, why?? Because the male version of trouser does up on the right and we laydeeees have to plump for the opposite a left handed do upable trouser!! Same goes for blouses . . . grrrrrrrr (broke two nails this morning!!) Oh and people that don't pick up after their dogs!! That feels better!! ![]() Last edited by lou-bi-wan : 04-26-2007 at 08:14 AM. |

Ooooo rubbish out of car windows, that's a major gripe - Keep Britain Tidy!!!! I was brought up where policemen slapped you round the head and the threat of a slipper at school kept us in line. Public information films shown back then could be classed as cert 18 now, like the throwing bangers (fireworks) one with a street full of blind children, I didn't want to hold a sparkler because they showed a little girl with a bandaged hand!! Scary stuff!! No respect these days . . . I feel like Victor Meldrew!! ![]()

OOOh, the rubbish thing goes on here too! Drives me nuts also. The only thing is that not only is it car trash, there are idiots who refuse to pay for bin collection and choose to throw a whole bag of trash alongside the roads occasionally. Such pigs!
Do you have Tidy Town competitions in the UK? There has been a big push in the last few years to keep the towns tidy, put up window boxes, etc. Things are looking very nice, but then there is always the few fools who have to ruin it for the rest of us. My whinge for the day....idiot drivers who pass more than one car at a time in a no overtaking section of road. GRRRRRR. ![]() My everday whinge...my neighbours who don't watch their 15 yr old special needs son who runs positively wild and they expect everyone else to mind him while they go Lord knows where for the day. He is constantly at my house and then cries when I tell him he has to leave. I don't mind him over for a bit, but it's every single day and all hours of the day. 8am Sunday morning? 11pm at night? He never has a coat on, even in the rain. No reflective gear, no torch, walking down the road at night. I've even fed him because the parents were nowhere around for the day. It would break your heart. I've talked with the parents, but they say they can't control him. I feel for them, I have a special needs kid myself, but I have five kids to watch without theirs too. Plus the mom is a SAHM with only him at home and three grown ones. Couldn't she spend some time with him or take him out? GRRR! Last edited by Maid of Erin : 04-28-2007 at 03:14 AM. |

We don't really have things like that here. I know we have best kept village and fines for dropping litter, I did hear of a name and shame type of punishment, where peoples names and their offence are published in the local newspaper. Haven't seen it though.
We were cut up by a 4 x 4 yesterday . . . say no more ![]() |

Where do I begin? Mobile phones in cars? When will the police DO something? Yes to litter. Yes to kids with no parental control. Yes to your neighbour with the special needs son who won't accept responsibility.
Who hates metal clothes hangers? Why do all hotel assume we are out to steal their hangers and make those horrid ones that won't come off the rails? People who still verbally abuse the less fortunate among us? If you heard my daughter after, in her words (bless), someone has called her a 'mongrel'. "I can't help it Mum." I would happily k*ll. OOOH good thread.

My neighbour is in the garda (police force) so he knows what's going on. I keep hoping he will turn them in. Only problem is that we live in such a small village (400 people), that nobody wants to turn them in, myself included, and be the village informer. The parents are not cruel to him, just sometimes neglectful. If I felt he was in any real danger, I would call the authorities. I had a tactful conversation with the mother this week. To be honest, now after talking with her about it, I believe she is a bit simple in the head. Clueless. I will continue looking out for him, everyone does, but I told her, I am done being the village childminder. I don't think the parents are truly neglectful, if anything, they are just at a loss as to how to discipline the boy and they never say no to him. And they take too much advantage of the goodwill of the neighbours instead of taking charge themselves. I like this whinge thread. It is very theraputic to just rant and let it out! |

its hard isnt it maid and it sounds like u have more then supported them but u do have enough of your own to sort out.. i know what u mean about a small village but the services dont say who it was so i guess they would have to guess out of 400 .. so if it gets really bad u will have no choice
sometimes i do think there should be a test before u are allowed to be a parent this thread is the best u can rant away and no one cares... dont get me started on the hospital tho otherwise i will never stop xx |

Well the village is 400+, but down the lane I live there are only about ten houses. We only just bought the house two years ago. It wouldn't be too hard for someone to guess who it was.
There is a social worker at the special school where the boy attends. One of my own kids will be going there in Sept., he has a neurological disorder and right now attends early intervention. If it gets worse, I may whisper a few words in her ear, maybe she can have someone check up on him and leave me out of the drama. I don't know why I'm still on this whinge thread...today was a really good day! ![]() |

This could turn into a daily tirade . . .
Son came in from playing out last night with tears in his eyes, a 'friend' has chipped one of his teeth, loosened another 2 and hurt his jaw . . . he didn't mean to do it but they are so rough. |

He's gone to school today but we'll reassess the damage tonight, I'm hoping the loose ones will tighten up and I don't think the chip is bad. He can chew and yawn although it's sore. No bruising but then it might not . . . . . . I'll get him in as an emergency appointment if I need to . . . there's always something when you have children . . . |
