UK/Europe/World - Goal Weight?

Hi all,

Before I decide what to do next I would like some opinions please.

I thought that I was close to goal with about 10 lbs or so left to go. I have just finished Atkins 72’ induction and lost 4 lbs (2 lbs the first week and 2 lbs the second) , I am heavy framed and was previously at the weight I’m aiming for about 14 years ago, I’m 38 now. The question that’s been raised in my mind is . . . the ratio of weight that I’ve lost during induction indicates to me that I could possibly go lower with my goal weight and still be ‘well covered’ and not skinny.

I used to eat all sorts of rubbish when I was younger, low carb was unheard of and I even think that I may have had some weird ideas that not eating was good for me and for days at a time.

Is it possible to repair my metabolism and become smaller and healthier than I ever was before, despite being a lot older?

Thanks

lou-bi x

yes u can be healthier then ever before.. i am certainly at my fittest (despite medical problems) then i have ever been

i always had a problem setting my goal as i didnt know where i should aim .. when i looked at this site things were a bit clearer as to what people set as a goal.. i put my original weight in and saw peoples ideal was way over what i am now, when i put my weight now i see its way down then i am

http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm

i tend not to get hung up on goals etc... it should be where u are happy not what people say u should be.. i dont want to be skinny so i guess i will always be more then i COULD be .. i spose its a choice we all make

sorry lou i am rambling on but i hope u understand what i am trying to say... tho maybe not lol

xx

Thanks for that Shy, not rambling at all . . .

You know when you are certain about something, then another idea takes over, I just don't want to sell myself short.

I've been thinking, which is a dangerous thing . . . I think I may have set my goal based on a perceived idea of what I can achieve based on past experience, what I haven't taken into account is that I can and am living (loving) with how I eat, I'm a different person with better habits and certainly a whole different outlook.

I'm going to think some more

nooo dont think anymore thats the downfall lol

are u happy with yr shape? weight? thats all u need to know...i kinda stuck at 163 quite happily .. ok now i am 155 but to be honest it wasnt thru trying... also bear in mind when u been bigger if u get 'skinny' u are gonna probably have saggy skin.. thats what i am noticing more and more now and am trying not to lose anymore cos of that

i think u should concentrate on exercise (when yr arm improves that is) and shaping rather than losing

u are officially banned from thinking about this

Post naked pics of yourself. We'll tell you when you are done.

Just kidding, I think you look great. Shy is right, since you are so close to goal, toning is probably the way to go.

You saying that, is good for me. . .why is it we're never satisfied? . . . when I was 220 I was dying to be in the 190's, when in the 190's I needed to be in the 170's now I'm lower than I really thought I'd ever, ever attain and I'm still not satisfied. I really should learn to be more accepting of myself, no one else expects me to be more than I am, they love me for being me! Sheesh!!

Just like we love you Maid for being you and Mint and Shy and Cosmic and SX and Diva and Kissa and FiFi and Glamour and all the other friends we’ve accumulated through this website!

I stayed at my 'goal' for 4 years, 9st 2 or 3 lbs.

Went up to 9st 13lbs and re-inducted.

I don't really know why I felt that I needed a new goal, but I id and I am now very happy being about 8 st 10 or 12 lbs.

I am still not skinny but I feel more comfortable.

You will know when to stop. Like you I enjoy this way of eating and have the energy to exercise too.

We are all amazing!!!

well thats it isnt it lou we are never satisfied as women are we lol

truly tho i think we kinda get hooked to the weightloss thing and when we settle at a weight we miss that excitement every week of oooh look what i lost.... i stayed at 166 for nearly 2 yrs til i recently lost.. in the end i replaced the weightloss excitement with attaining goals at the gym and called goal on the weight

got to say the old excitement of the scale going down is back now i am 155 but it has to stop somewhere so i am calling goal again and getting back to gym goals or some other goal.. ideas anyone?

i aint never gonna be skinny and i dont want to be!!
