I did my exercising yesterday! The weather was so beautiful, I decided to do outside jobs and will do workout DVD's or exercise bike if raining out. Yesterday, I shoveled out the barn and swept up the place, moved more rocks, stacked some wood and a bit of gardening. As long as I work up a sweat, I'm calling it exercise.

It was great to be outside and the kiddos were all cycling and on their little scooters and things. I would have loved to go for a nice walk, but not possible unless dh is around. Don't want to take the kids with me, too hard to mind my entire tribe alone, plus I like to get a few minutes to myself!

Everyone has been so good unlike me . . . small confession here, I was in a lot of pain last night which gave me a choice I could either take pain killers which make me itch all night . . . but work, or go for a nicer (in my opinion) option, red wine, so I’m afraid I took the better option, I had 2 small glasses, I do feel more than a bit guilty because I thought that I was really strong but I guess I’m not super human.

I’m not going to beat myself up about it, as it did make it much more bearable and I’m just sore today.

I don’t like to fail so I’m trying to see this as a hurdle I didn’t jump over but ran through instead. I hope you all understand?

I’m back in the challenge as of now . . . although I didn’t really leave it . . .

Lou-bi - I had 2 glasses of red wine (and about 4 glasses of champagne) at the weekend and no reason other than I wanted to!!! Don't worry about it - and don't worry if it shows a blip in the scale, it will go.

I did the first day of the C25K today - TMI but I had to break it in two as the Thai Green Chicken Curry played up!!!! Meant I did around 36 mins all together instead of 30 - so it was good for me.

Also saw the personal trainer and he showed me how to use some of the free weight machines - can't wait to give them a try!

Hope everyone else's excercise is going well.

Thanks Mint, i'll expect a lb or 2 temporary increase tomorrow! I've been dead good otherwise

Thanks for the support Shy, I can't believe I folded so quickly, still . . . you live and learn.

I'd count cleaning too, it can be really strenuous. I have my son's room to do, he's away at his dads for a week or so. I have to do it now as I only get the chance once a year, I'm dreading it (he does . . . in a teenagery way, sort of clean it himself!! )

I don't get the exercise high, but then again i don't exercise as often as I should. So I for one, needed the push, thanks lou-bi! I'm going to pretend I love exercise and fake it till I make it.

Please don't beat yourself up over a few glasses of wine. Life happens, you made the best choice you had available.

Thanks Maid

I'm planning to stick to plan, starting tomorrow morning with some exercises the doc gave me! I can already do sit-ups and steps . . . 100of each to start and some strengthening arm things . . . looks complicated, I'll fill you in later.

Don't fake it. . .grumble and curse the whole time you do it!!

Lou, don't beat yourself up! I have been blown away by you signing up to the no alcohol challenge.

After a painful injection I so know I would have chosen the red wine! In fact it is what a generally choose.

I did go to the gym today and rather overdid it! a Body pump class, 15 mins break then a frantic step class! so 2 hours today.

Then home and lots of gardening.

Soooo - this evening we went to the local Italian just a stroll away where I ate a perfect antipasto, a swordfish steak and salad. Then, my share of a bottle of very nice red wine. THEN 2 glasses of Averna, a wicked Italian desert wine.

But hey, life is for living.

Maid...do you have 5 children, a farm and a husband who is a vet? That is what I am picking up.

Shy, oh I hate the thought of boys bedroom mess. Girls were pretty bad, but they had nothing on lads from what I hear.

Don't know what you mean by MESS!!!! DH says it's like living with a teenager! I do try my best (honest).

Tossing up between a Body Pump/Body Step class and/or some weight training today.

I’ve decided that you’re all so lovely that I’m going to adopt you all!!

I was feeling a little bit down this morning but I’m not now after reading your posts! You know that feeling when you have puppy, kitten or small baby and you just want to eat them . . . just too cute

Yes, I do have five children (DS 7, DS 5, DS & DD 4 yr old twins and DD 3)and yes my dh is a veterinary surgeon. Life is never dull. I used to work in the pharmaceutical industry (Senior Research Chemist) before the kids, but now am staying home with them and working w/ DH. We have a small farm and are working towards opening our own goat dairy. Right now we have around 80 goats (some mamas, some yearlings) and we will need at least 100+ milkers, so we are aiming for early 2008 to start milking.

We also have hens and a few cows for fun. At the moment, we have six cows and five calves. The cows are in calf, so we are expecting babies any time now. We have one cow that we milk for us to drink. The kids love all the animals and there is always something to do outside for them. We used to have ducks and geese too, but the geese kept biting the kids and they got roasted. We gave the ducks to my FIL because foxes kept snatching them on us.

Forgot to add the dogs into the mix. We have a Welsh Corgi and two yappy Jack Russell Terriers too.

Menagerie is the word that springs to mind!

Maid, trust you won't be offended, if I say your life has all the makings of a TV show!!! It sounds amazing, even idyllic - which I'm sure in real life it isn't!!!

I cannot imagine 5 children - but a farm is a great place to have them!!!

You are embarassing me through being so good, I'm gonna pull my finger out and do something else tonight, 100 steps! I'll post before I have tea. . .

I'm laying a base for my new greenhouse (free - second hand ) on Friday so I'll get plenty of exercise then. I'll go easy though, not too much lifting. Then plenty of walking around when I shop on Saturday!!

Having a big family is wonderful..when they are all asleep!

Really, I love it *most* days. They are good kids for the most part. When they get rowdy, I send them outside so it's good to have the room to run around. I'm one of 4 and my dh is one of 9. There was no question of us having a small family; we both love kids.

I have time to post because I hop on for a minute here and there during the day. i don't watch telly at all, except for LOST which I love.
