UK/Europe Favorite LC snack
Ok... so what is your favorite LC snack. Or can you give me some idea of NO carb things to eat?? I get hungry in the morning aroun 10:30 and I would like something to snack on that is NO carb if possible.

Beef jerky? Boiled eggs? Jelly (gelatin) cups? Cooked chicken breast? Cheese sticks?
I can't think of too many no carb foods. LC snacks I like (but I really do better when I don't snack at all) are nuts (weighed for portion), deviled eggs, Wasa crackers w/ slice of cheese or SF peanut butter, leftover cooked meat, pickles, olives, veggies w/ dip. Coffee w/ cream and dash cinnamon. Are you really hungry at that time or is is the post caffeine slump in the morning? Do you have coffee or tea at breakfast? ![]() |

What are these??? Pepperami sticks is there a lot of salt
I am not allowed to drink coffee or tea at work because the caffine really gets me going. So they have banned me from the tea. But I like it with 3 sugars and lots of milk. So I couldn't have it anyway. ME on coffee would be scary. Nah I just need a snack now then. I am good about not grazing. But somedays I just get hungry. |

Can you do decaf tea with splenda Cosmic? Barry's makes a pretty decent decaf in bags, do you have Barry's tea there?
How about something like sunflower or pumpkin seeds? Peanut in the shell? Something that takes a while to eat would help you graze but eat less. Babybels are one of my favs too. I love the regular and the cheddar! I put those in my kids lunches too because they have fun taking the wax off. ![]() |

If I remember rightly, there were green ones and red ones,I think the red ones were hotter, and of course most of us Brits are curry lovers,so,maybe they will be hotter for you if you prefer a milder curry.
How about some Chirizo, I eat that quite a bit here in Spain, low carb but a bit salty,so not too much. maria xxxx |

Now come on Cosmic.
If they have a kettle or a microwave and water, you can make your own tea and coffee. I know that you can get loads of different decaf teas and coffees so it is just a case of testing them. You can even make 'real' coffee in a jug the old fashioned way that is decaf. If you've time to hit the boards here, you've time to make tea or coffee that suits you. Invest in a thermos flask. I am relying on you to repot on your favourites.Granny has spoken!!!! As for snacks stick to meat, including the green pepperoni sticks and cheese. The Bon Bel full fats are a great filler. Don't worry too much about the salt on '72. The Dr. doesn't. It is only in the later books he warns us off nitrates and sodium. In 72 he encourages bacon and ham. Feeling happy and full is what makes the plan work.Love ya!

Thanks for reminding me about that Mum!!! On that note - we used to find great - pre-cooked seriously crunchy bacon in either Tesco or Sainsbury - can't remember which - yummy!!!
Cheese Crisps are great! Almonds go a long way for very carbs - same with Brazil Nuts. I really love pepperami and the like - makes me feel like I'm indulging! |

What is cheese with wax around it? I guess I am really going to have to look at my cheese. Also what is the best blue cheese to crumble and make blue cheese dressing with?

I like edam it reminds me of swiss cheese. I will start eating that again.
I have some mince at home not sure what to do with it. I might just freeze it as at the moment trying to get into deep ketosis |

Mince, make meatloaf Cosmic. Just like a slice of home for you.
Edam and Gouda are usually sold with the red wax, but I was talking about Baby Bell, little round cheeses that are single servings. They come in cheddar and 'regular', which is sort of like edam, but not quite. But very good nonetheless. I buy real bleu cheese when I make my dressings. I buy an Irish brand called Cashel Blue. Very nice. Lidl also sells blue cheese sometimes. I've never had Stilton so can't say if it's the same. The look of Stilton really grosses me out, sorry. Shy-what is primula? Does anybody else find it odd that we are under local LC gatherings and some of us are in different countries. How local is that? ![]()

Nope Newbies won't know where to look. But when asking Tom he said before we got our own space we had to show need for it have lots of posts. That is why I said when you post new threads make sure you put UK Europe in the title and try to keep posting in the same area.
Stilton is scary looking. I would love to come to Ireland. I keep trying and something happens everytime I plan a trip. |

Shy, you are right, I did sound very bossy didn't I?
Sorry Cosmic, but I only had your best interests at heart. You have been busy here today. I have been in the car coming down to Devon where spring has truly sprung. Went straight to the garden centre to get some new plants to brighten up our little garden. I think we should start a 'great recipes' site. Cosmic is right it is hard to find them sometimes, though I try to remember to 'bookmark' them. What do you all think? It is interesting that they ship here. I had something shipped from Apple the other day, value under £50 but they included the VAT in their bill. |

I've never seen them here in Ireland. They do seem weird, gotta admit that.
But they look handy for the lunchbox or trips. There just isn't enough foods in toothpaste tubes, is there? ![]() |
