Hey there Girl-Chris... and any other Washingtonians. I'm in Seattle and would love to meet some other low-carbers for dinner or lunch or whatever. Power in numbers, you know? It can be kind of tiresome being the only one at the dinner table asking the waitron to substitute this for that and asking for the ingredients in each dish. It would be great finding out where others like to eat out in the area, too.

Yippee! I'm so excited there are other LCers in the area! I've been eating this way in Seattle for two years now and it never occured to me there might be others out there. I'm so thrilled to have found this site and that Chris thought to post to it.
I live in Seattle and don't have a car, so getting outa town is difficult. But if folks wanted to make the trek up here I would love to get together. We could go out for breve lattes if dinner is cost prohibitive. Or catch a movie or something. Has anyone seen "Real Women Have Curves" yet? I've been wanting to see that. Matinee anyone?

Is it just us? No one else is in or near Seattle out there?! Come on folks, can we get four? It would make splitting the tab so much easier

Hi there! I'm in Seattle, too. I saw this post on the Main board and thought that I would post here, too. I would be up for a get together. But, like J.Kupferer, I need to do it in January. I broke right now. But I have a car so I'm willing to drive a car pool for the Seattle area

My name is Brenda and I am brand new to this list. I am just getting back on track after a brief, uh, "detour" I would love to get together and meet new low-carb buddies! In person support is great, to kind of fortify what I can find online. I live in West Seattle--near Alki--great place to walk whenI am not busy detouring! Anyway....hello, and I look forward to getting to know lots of you! Brenda |

Hay everyone, Im in Tacoma but love coming to Seattle. J-Low and I met last week in Kent. It would be cool to actually go out to eat with other low carbers. Everyone around me pigs out on sugars on a regular basis. January would be great, lets plan a lunch or dinner date everyone.

That sounds great, girl-chris! A low-carb celebration in honor of getting back on track--at least for me. Maybe the rest of you have been good, but I have to confess I have been naughty
Anyway, let's plan a get together soon! Brenda |

Good to hear from all the low-carbers in Washington YEAH!!! J.Kupferer, Low-budget, Frogdancer, Brendini, and of course J-low.
It seems like were all not that far apart. Tukwila, Gig Harbor, (mother) Port Townsend, Tacoma, and Seattle. Well hope to hear more from everyone and maybe even all meeting in Janurary. |

Seattle person here
I live in Seattle (Magnolia neighborhood) and work in Bellevue. I've been doing this since the end of September. I would love to go out with folks so I'm not the only one saying "Hold the Potato".

Hi Kate & Ginny!
It would be a good thing to order lunch (or dinner) with others who eat like us! Last week I ordered a BLT without the bread--was pretty funny. And Ginny, I used to live in the Tri-cities--in fact my oldest daughter still lives there, so I don't get to see her or my grands nearly often enough! Brenda |

Hi Ginny!
I probably won't be in the Tri-cities until winter is pretty much over--the pass makes me nervous. But, when I do get over there, I will be sure to let you know! Brenda |

MAJOR LCF POSTER!
|
Hi, everyone!
I live in Federal Way and work in Seattle. Would love to get together sometime! Keep me posted. Deb PS I am used to making odd requests at restaurants -- one of my best friends has diabetes, and she's been doing it for years (we met in junior high). I think you just have to get used to it. Only rarely have I had a negative reaction to a reasonable request. |

Tacoma Buddy
Hi Everyone,
I live in Tacoma and would love to get together and support other low carb folks in their quest for a healtier lifestyle. I started this WOE on 12/2/02, went off for a few weeks for the holidays and then started again 1/2/03. My starting weight was somewhere around 191lbs (got a new scale since then) and as of this morning I'm down to 180.3lbs. I'm 5'9", 39 years old, female, and would like to weigh 155lbs but will be satisfied with whatever my body seems to find comfortable after I get below 165lbs. This is the second time I've done Atkins and I'm very impressed with all the support that is out there now (First time was March 1999 - lost 15lbs). If anyone is interested in sharing stories, recipes or just getting together for a low carb meal I'd be happy to oblige. Alise in Tacoma alise.marinov@attbi.com |

Hi Kate:
We think alike. I tried contacting a few folks to see if they might be interested in doing Bloomsday in May. Haven't got any takers so far. If I can talk DH into a Seattle trip, I'll come do the St Patrick's Day Dash with you. Is there a website? |

I believe the site it www.stpatsdash.com.
You can also find the info at www.ontherun.com I've been working up to this slowly. I was able to run for 6.5 minutes tonight. I want to make it in less than an hour and I think I could do it in 45 minutes. |

I'm squeezing in 2 miles in 30 minutes at lunch almost every day. I'll sure be glad when it's not dark when I go to work and dark when I come home. Then I can get in a longer walk/jog after work. At any rate, I'm sure I can do a 5K without too much trouble. I once did a 5K in 27 minutes, but I don't run any more. Sometimes I think I would like to run again, but I'll have to ease into it.
Bloomsday is 7.46 miles, but we will definitely be walking. We are taking my granddaughter in the stroller. She will be about 5 months then. |
