I'm in Aitkin which is by Brainerd. I have family in Bloomington so I visit there often! I would definately be interested in a get together. Just keep me posted!

I'm in Big Lake (originally from St. Paul) I think it would be fun to get together! Lets Keep "talking" and see what we can come up with! Since it looks like we have Mendota, Brooklyn Park, St. Michael, Big Lake and Aitkin (or Bloomington) maybe we could meet somewhere like Maple Grove. But anywere near the metro is fine with me! Maybe I'll try a post in the Main lobby telling any MN folks to come here!!

beth,When I was in St. Paul I wasn't low-carbing, so I'm not sure where you could find the shirtaki noodles. But I bet one of the Asian markets would have them.

OK folks.,..sounds like we want to get together....Who wants to staert tossing out a date, time, place???? Id on't know about you guys, but in the summer my weekends get busy. Any interest in a mid-week early dinner???

I'm originally from White Bear Lake but live in WI now. About 90 miles from the cities. I will keep checking to see when the gathering is scheduled.

totally know where that is, i was born in crosby and moved to "the cities" when i was 15

i'm game for a get together, my problem is i work 7am to 730pm/3days a week and not the same day each week. the good thing is i at least know my schedule for the next few months. so throw out some dates and i'll chime in.

My thoughts
I have NO weekends left this summer so mid week would be good for me.
I am very interested in geting together BUT driving is an issue for me (but I think I can get my son to drive me if I know ahead of time the date).

Oh! probably starting around Aug 21, I will be working 10-12 hour days, so something before that would be best for me, but I would try, if it had to be after that date!

It sounds like we have people from all corners of the Twin Cities and beyond. Would Maple Grove be middle of the line?

I will try map out everyone and see what would be a centeral area.

Hi Tim,
Right now I am on vacation and so is Meowville,

but we will be meeting on Aug 2 to go to Trader Joe's. Anyone else interested in meeting for a shopping trip on Aug 2nd?

We are still going to put something together for a "get to gether"

What evening during the week is best for everyone???

these are my open (days off) dates for the next 2 months: aug 8-14, 18-20, 24-27, 30-31, sept 6-11, 15-17,21-24,27-28

most of these days i'm pretty flexible both with times and places. there are a few exceptions, but most i can work around. maple grove is the easiest for me i will admit, but i transverse the metro quite well. i live in st michael, my parents live in brooklyn park, my sister and niece live in egan, i work in south minneapolis, and my bil and his wife live in apple valley. needless to say i get around.

Ok,Patt3 first told me about rumors that Trader Joes was going to open in Woodbury, but did anyone know about the possibility of a location in Maple Grove? Here's an article from Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal.

The popular specialty grocer Trader Joes plans to open its second Twin Cities store in March at the Shoppes at Woodbury Lakes.

Construction will begin this fall on a 12,500 square foot building at the Woodbury lifestyle center, according to a report in the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

On July 12, the Woodbury City Council considered the proposal, which was submitted by Minnetonka-based Opus Northwest.

Monrovia, Calif.-based Trader Joe's opened its first store in St. Louis Park in June.

The Business Journal has learned that Trader Joe's is also scouting a possible site at another metro lifestyle center, The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove, which was also developed by Opus Northwest.

Should someone just throw out a date for our get-to-gether? Depending on how many of us can make it, we may need to make a reservation. I'm not sure what places in M.G. take reservations. But I think this would be fun and I'm glad we would have Tim for a token guy!

I have a husband Tim who also does lc and maybe he'd come too!
