Hi there Lee
I wanted to welcome you to the boards. There are a group of us that post together over on the Challenge board as Atkins Angels -three of us are from RI-I am from South Kingstown but Jan and Claire are up in the Northern part of RI which is close to you. PLEASE feel free to join us-we would love to have another member. We get together at least once a year usually at my place and try to get together once during the winter but offer each other support daily online. Best of luck to you and hope to get to know you!!! Oh and one more thing we are all over 50 ![]()

Thank you for posting here, I appreciate your time. I'm happy there are some of you in my area. Let me introduce myself further. I'm a retired teacher and love to travel. However, at this stage I am without transportation and have to depend on the vans provided by the Council on Ageing and local bus system. Neither of these is very convenient and I am at their mercy, timewise. No transport on Sundays and holidays, and none after 5:30 pm! So my time out is very limited.
I thank God I have my computer, it keeps me in touch with the world. I am waiting for a notice from a senior complex in Boston. I have applied for an apartment there. I worked in Boston before returning to New Bedford. Most of my friends are in Boston, and moving back home was a great mistake! I am into crafting and most recently have begun making cards. I do counted cross-stitch and quilting. I really do appreciate your response, but I'm not much into challenges. I like keeping in touch with people I've met here. At present I haven't the ability to send messages because I haven't been a member long enough. I believe you have to be a member at least 30 days, and I just joined at the end of January '06. It would be nice to hear occasionally from people in my area and hope to keep in touch with you. I have to learn how to use this site, also. It has so many features and I'm trying to learn them all. So far the recipe thread has been a great help. I especially like the breakfast suggestions. Also, I just bought a new crockpot. My old one didn't have a removeable inner pot. Hope to be able to make things in volume so as not to have to cook each meal! I like freezing things so I can have variety. Last year I lost 50 lbs and gained about 30 of them back. Now I'm starting all over again, and it is harder. Each day I remind myself that I did it once and can do it again! I don't have any pictures or a digital camera for pictures, so I have to rely on posting figures. If you have any suggestions for using this site I would very much like to hear them. Or any suggestions for meal planning, as well. Lee
