East Tenn Monthly Get Together

Hi all. We had a wonderful time in Oct meeting everyone. I had so much food left over that I invited the locals to come over and eat everything up or take it home. The skinnies at my house wouldn't touch the stuff. Thanks Sue and Lenarod and Mary and Bud for rescueing me.
So I go a phone call from a lady named Verna and she heard about the gathering in the paper and wanted to know when the next one was going to be. So we set it for Nov. 12 at Golden Corral in Sevierville at 6:30 p.m.
Take I-40 to exit 407. Go south into Sevierville. Count lights from interstate exit - 4th Stop light take a left and Golden Corral is on the Right. Can't miss it. email Katiedid@atkinsfriends.com for more info.

See ya'll there. Katie

Looking forward....

to meeting you to Mary and Bud. Looking forward to meeting other LC'ers and chatting the evening away.

I told hubby about the get together and he is as excited for me finding a local group to share ideas with. Local .. well, an hour and a half for me but I do not mind at all. Anything to help me remain focused and on track.

Induction day 4 today, so far, so good. No headaches or such yet either. Yesterday I did exercise and just at the end I got kinda light headed. I realized I needed to eat! After eating, I was fine! Ahhhhhh, the joys of LCing and the refound energy. I'm loving it!

:-)

HI Connie,
Sounds like you are doing great. I didn't get the headache some talk about either. I guess it only happens to a chosen few. I think if you haven't had a headache yet..you are pretty safe from having one...at least not connected with this way of eating.
Bring the hubby along. Bud is a low carber not because of needing to lose weight, but to keep his G.E.R.D.S disease(acid reflux) away. He pretty much doesn't eat anything with sugar or white flour and he hasn't had to take any medication since then. And another great side effect was that his cholesterol went way down...a first in over 15 years. He is a happy camper.
Okey, Doke...see ya on Tuesday.

Last time I was in Sevierville was to go to Johnson Bible College... but I got tossed out, interesting story but long. Anybody heard of JBC?

PS: Does the beer in my hand below not fit the bible college image??? LOL

LOL on the beer. I have heard of the college. But this is the Bible belt. You have to hide your drinking, at least that is what the Southern Baptist do. They don't like us Catholics who just say we drink. I like to have fun with them on it. Boy they hate me.

Beer

lots in the southern bible belt have a lil drink or two every now and then, some much more often.

I've heard of JBC but never been there. I lived in Sevierville for a short period but worked in Oak Ridge so it was just too far to drive. I loved that area, too bad our work was elsewhere.

Are you coming tonight to the LC gathering?

What hours do you work? Maybe we can schedule one on the weekend possibly for those that can't make the evening weekday meetings. Are you close to Sevierville?

My hubby is part owner in a computer networking IT business and computer outlet in Oak Ridge. Are you a computer techie? His website is www.vantivepoint.com is ya want to take a peek. I'm not sure on the computer store site, they recently bought out the old owner and changed names & locations.

Well I had a wonderful time

it was so nice to put faces with names. Can't wait to get together with you guys again. I'm home safe and sound, took me an hour exactly going I-40 so I'll defintely be taking that route home from now on. (I know..no, I didn't do the speed limit exactly.) Going is a different story as 40 is so backed up going thru Knoxville at 5, eek! I'll be taking the same route over.

Anyhoooo...was a blast. Oh Katie..you know I had to take a taste of the cinnamon/splenda pork rinds. Oh My! I could easily become addicted to these things Very good and so crisp. Kalan already dived into one and loved it too. Ut oh..means I have to share.

Keep in touch!

Hey Katie

Ruby Tuesdays would be fine with me. Closer too ;-)

Is there a website/book where you learned about de-yeasting? I've been having some yeast problems since starting LC and it's driving me looney-toons. I hate to do it, but I think it's a necessity at this point. ugh.

That sounds great to me, let me get ahold of Drew and see how it works for her.

Go to the bulletin boards and do a search of "de-yeasting" you will get tons of info and I can talk to you tomorrow about what works for me. I will post about where soon, Katie

I can't make it tonight :-(

My son has been up most of the night with a cold/sinus infection and I'm going to call & see if I can get a work-in appt today. Ricky has a 4:00 meeting downtown Knoxville this afternoon and there is no way he will be home in time watch him for me. *sigh*.

Can we possibly reschedule til a later date?
