HELLO TO ALL OF MY MIDWEST FRIENDS.
Maybe we should all plan a get together downtown somewhere.I know that its cold but I really need the local support and would like to know if anyone is interested in a local diet buddy.......to walk with talk with or just complain about all the eggs we eat...yummy

Southern burbs here. Going into tax season, so can't really do a get together right now...but I'm totally available for support...to give and receive...

Bummer....I am 'downstate' as you Chicago folks tend to say... LOL! In this case I mean in west central Illinois between Peoria and the Quad Cities!

The Chicago area seems to be very underrepresented on this board. Maybe that's why we were just named the fattest city in the country! And that despite there are actually several good low carb stores still functioning in our area.

There are several in the north and northwest suburbs. There's a very small one at Golf Mill Mall in Niles (Low Carbs R Here), one out in Arlington Heights (I think it's called Great Low Carb Foods), I here a rumor there's one out by Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg (don't know the name of it) and then two more (they're the best, in my opinion)...one in Vernon Hills (Low Carb Chicago) and the one closest to the city is in Wilmette (LowCarb Destination). With all the stores closing around the country, it's amazing there are so many in our area. Some are definitely better (more knowledgeable and with a broader range of products) than others. I know the ones in Niles and Wilmette are willing to ship, don't know about the others. PM me if you'd like more details!

My favorite place in Chicago to eat low carb is probably just Lone Star steak house. I love getting a nice steak with veggies. There used to be a place in Schaumburg called La Magdelena that had low carb Mexican...but they stopped serving the low carb items. That really bummed me out, because the food was really good.

What is your favorite place?

If I get time to go out.I go to red lobster..or joe's crab shack in shaumburg.I am planning on starting something local 4 dieters.Low carb,or not all i am doing now is looking for a location.So stay in touch and ill tell you when and where if u would like to check it out......
