Anyone in Tennesee??

Hi everyone!

I just moved to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I havent been on this site for a long time. Is anyone in my neck of the woods?? if so..we can meet for lunch or coffee.

I just opened an art gallery here and dont know a SOUL here yet.

P.S- Im still maintaining my weight even through some major life stresses etc. ATKINS ROCKS!

Thanks Caly! Its sooo beautiful here in the Smokey Mtns. Its definitely a bit of culture shock from Vegas though.

I live just north of you Michelle in Blount Co. We are up there in Pigeon Forge every now and then. We have Dollywood seasons passes. I have lived here all my life and can't imagine living anywhere else! It is GORGEOUS! Hope you meet some friends fast!!!

Hey Michelle, I know exactly what you mean, although I am a Tennessian I made a move from one end of it to another! So I am trying to adjust myself, I live in Kingston, about 20 min from Knoxville. i hear you about the culture shock. I am from Cali and my husbands from NY, it took some getting used to but the people are soooo nice here. Vegas huh, I'll be there for new years eve!!

I am in Sevierville. Have been here for almost 6 years and cannot honestly say I think I have found heaven. I am also from California. I am from North Cal though. Went to Vegas on my 40th Bday...SO MANY MOONS AGO

I am blown away at how many Californians and Nevadans are here in TN. We all got lucky I guess.
Congrats on your new gallery and maintaining...but sorry to hear about the stress. Hope to see you sometime...are you in the Glades area?

hi Michelle... i'm in Murfreesboro (about 25 min. SE of Nashville)!

my husband and i are going to Gatlinburg this Sunday, as a matter of fact!

it's going to be my first time visiting over there and i can't wait. we have a lot of fun things planned for our stay over there. so if you happen to see a strange pink haired woman and a burly, bearded man with buddy holly glasses on, come say hi!

((we'll definitely be spending most of our time on the strip visiting the shops.. it's also where our hotel (Best Western Zoder's Inn) will be))

WOW. Thans for all the responses. My art gallery is on BUCKHORN RD in the "ARts and CRafts Community" at Turtle Hollow. Its called "THE IMAGINE THIS GALLERY'. (We're so new that we dont have a sign up yet but we're in between two other larger galleries. One is called "J. Allen Gallery".)

If you like funky, oneof a kind , whimsical sorta whacky art COME VISIT ME!

Id love to pm any of you that are in the neighborhood and met for coffee or ..something? The thing I miss about this area is that there doesnt seem to be a "BORDERS" bookstore or "Barnes and Noble". I used to love going there to read and drink coffee and research ideas for my artwork. Ahwell..Im sure there's one in Knoxville??

Anyway..Keep in touch all of you new 'neighbors'. I AM a bit lonely here and would love some buds!

GUESS WHAT??? We just got a Borders Outlet Bookstore in Tanger Outlet (which can be CRAZY busy this time of year) and there is a Books-A-Million with a coffee shop here in Sevierville also. It is just across from the Walmart...well actually you have to cross over the bridge to get to it. (DH and I walked there yesterday around 2:30 and it was pretty empty) I would love to meet you...BUT, in the meantime I am going to come up to your gallery and introduce myself...just don't know when. Do you know about the Tea house that is up around there? I can't remember the name of it...something like Plum Tree or Plum Room. It is real cute...but can get VERY busy.
OK, I must go for now...what are your hours at the gallery?

There is a Barnes & Noble in Knoxville about 1/2 mile west of West Town Mall on Kingston Pike and a Borders that sits right next to West Town Mall to the east.

MaBailey, is that in an old house near Tanger Outlet? Has been a couple od different restaurants? I'm probably thinking of another place.....

Ma...... A BORDERS at the TANGER outlet??? the one in Pidgeon FOrge???? WOW! YES come visit meeeeee . It might be a bit tough to find my gallery but its on the 8 mile loop in the Arts and Crafts district . Im in between two other larger galleries at Turtle Hollow. Our hours are 10-5:30. Cant wait to see u!!

Yep, there is a Borders at the Tanger Outlet on the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge border. It doesn't have coffee shop, but there is a Starbucks in the same shopping center. If it is books you are interested in there is also a Foozles at the Belz Mall in Pigeon Forge on Teaster Ln. It is an indoor mall and has a few places to buy a bite to eat or drink. Books are a great bargain there too.

OK, Then it looks like Books-a-million is your place...they have an "in house" coffee shop, J.T.Muggs I believe is the name. They have chairs, tables and even a llittle bar (for coffee of course) and outdoor patio too. It is only about a block from the Tanger Outlet.
I will probably see you today...is there anything you need from the "low lands"?
