Tennessee and southerngrace -- I'm close to ya'll ... I'm just north of Knoxville in Claxton (Clinton/Oak Ridge area). My office is on Kingston Pike in Knoxville though. Maybe we should get together sometime.

southerngrace -- unfortunately, I have a whole basement full of equipment that collects dust.

I guess out of sight = out of mind.

I know, bad, bad, bad. I have been toying with the idea of taking up a yoga or pilates class someplace.

I live in Virginia, but relatively close to most of you guys. I am on the Bristol Va/Tn line. My job takes me as far as the Scott county line.

I have never lived anywhere but Florida. Neither of us have ever driven in snow before or ice and we are a little worried. Any tips would be appreciated! And yes, folks from TN are MUCH nicer than Floridians. Here in FL we are taught not to look at other drivers because road rage is such a problem. There, everyone waves at you! I love that!

The low carb friends people have had two gatherings in Pigeon Forge. I did attend last years and had a blast! I hope they do it again this year cause I could meet all of you folks there!

The house I bought is in Cheleque Estates which is surrounded by Cherokee Lake. It is one of the most beautiful, peaceful places I have ever seen! There are lots of deer and they wander right thru the yard. I want to pet one, lol! They don't really run from you either... They just sort of walk off, annoyed...

I too am an "import". I came from CA originally and so I know what you mean by ROAD RAGE

! When we moved to TN we once stood at a 4 way stop for what seemed like an eternity because everyone wanted the other to go first....it was comical and everyone ended up laughing and waving

It is so unbelievable here. I have NEVER experienced such "niceness". Everyone is willing to stop awhile and chat. When you move here be prepared for a "gentler" way of life. For the first time in my life I have learned to relax....I LOVE IT! I even breathe slower

I wasn't able to make the pig roast, but I did make the night before "get together". I brought a chocolate cake with whipped cream. I couldn't stay long because I had to make a wedding cake for the next day. I am hoping also that they have a pig roast next year...I will really try to make that one.

I am hoping they have a pig roast this year. There are no plans in the works right now, according to Pami and some other "reds" from chat. But I hope they do put plans together because I want to go!

I believe the Pig Roast is just one of those things that someone, decides to host. Katiedid and DH Jackie, did it one year....No, I think it was 2. I think she passed the baton to Cheri but helped with the cooking of the "pig". If I remember right, the very first one, was hosted by Stonecreek up in Kentucky/Ohio area. They are fun and if you or anybody else wanted to host it you could get ahold of Katiedid and she could fill you in...at least on how she did it. Right now she is a very busy lady with Ayanna (her beautiful grand daughter) and work...then in her spare time

she is helping build a home for her daughter.
I know you might be wondering why I don't host one...but weekends are my busiest time. I make wedding cakes. I would, however, help in anyway I could

Nice to meet you. We will surely let you know when we have a get together. Also keep in mind that there might be a pig roast sometime in the summer. That will also be on the gatherings site.
Good for you for jumping back on the wagon. It is tough...but for sure the right thing to do.
OK Valerie (that is my sis's name too) keep an eye out for the gathering...might be sometime in January for lunch.
