It's a TEXAS SIZE GATHERING!!! Y'ALL COME!!

Hi everyone! We are having a gathering!!

If everyone would like to have a gathering we are ready!!!

We are thinking a Saturday in April.

The 1st and 3rd weekends are out for me, but I am availabe the 2nd, 4th and 5th saturdays.....

I know that money is tight for most of us, so Jess and I thought we would have it somewhere (my mooselodge, her place on the brazos, somewhere like that) and we can all bring a dish.

We can either all bring a dish and our meat of choice, or we could all bring a dish and several of us go in on the meats together.

I like the idea of everyone bringing a potluck dish and our own meat of choice to grill (bbq, whatever)..... what do y'all think?

Let us know!! Gatherings are soooo much fun!!

If we have it at my moose lodge, that would be here in Haltom City (suburb of fort worth). If we have it at Jess' Brazos place I think it is out by Mineral Wells, but I am not sure........ Jess, help me here.. lol

EVERYONE COME.. LET'S HAVE A TEXAS GATHERING!!!!

PM me or Jess080804 if y'all have any ideas or questions!!

thanks

Yay found the thread I'd love to come. Saturday or Sunday is fine with me. I live in Austin but I could also be in Dallas if I need to (my family is there and they're all LC too).

Thoughts?

Hi all. I live in San Antonio, but would brave I-35 to meet up somewhere. Waco is halfway between Austin & the metroplex....how about there? I may be able to call out a few favors and get us a meeting place.

Hi everyone!!

Well, if we do it @ my moose lodge it would be in Fort Worth...

if we do it @ Jess' river place it would be in Mineral Wells..... (i think Jess's place is in Mineral wells.. well it is on the Brazos and the Brazos is a big river..... so I'll let Jess tell y'all where it is.. lol.. I hate saying MIneral Wells, when I am not sure.. )

but Waco would be fine for me too...

Can you get us a place in Waco, on the 23rd or 30th of April?

Whatever works for everyone is good for me!

Hey everyone!! Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I've been really busy lately.

Ok, so my place at the Brazos is about 20 miles west of Cleburne.....I live in Mansfield(which is close to arlington and fort worth) It is about an hour away from me.

Waco would be good for me too. I have no problem going there.
Torp-- if you could find us a place in waco that would be great!! lets go ahead and shoot for the 23rd of April!?! Everyone ok with that? Let me know if you can find us a place to meet....we need to try to make this as cheap as possible. I know alot of people are tight right now with money. Ya know--we could always go to a big park...and set up there. I could look it up and see where a good park is in Waco.

Jedisnowy--we can definately find you a ride! I don't live in Austin...but it looks like a couple people that want to come do...so hopefully we can find someone to help you out.

ok, so Helenback--April 23rd!?! that ok? I think we should go ahead and pin point a date...and then go from there. It is going to be hard to go around everyones schedule...but, that's far enough that people can go ahead and plan for it. The 23rd is a Sat....and we could set it for like around noon time. ?????

Let me know what you think guys!

I'm 19 miles from Waco so of course that's a good place for me!! But I could make it to Ft. Worth as well or the Cleburne area.

I lived in Waco for a few years going to college, I think that the name of the park I remember is Cameron Park. Yeah that sounds right.

I don't live close enough to go check it out or anything.

Maybe someone closer to the area could find out some more information?

Good Morning!!!

I'm gonna make a few phone calls today...and check out the parks in Waco. I might even make a trip down there in the next week or so...to see how nice they are.

I think bringing the recipes of the dishes we bring is a great idea!

Hi everyone!

MY GRANDBABY IS HERE WITH ME!! YEAH!! lol

sorry I haven't been on the last couple of days.. I am soooo wrapped up in the little fluff of mine!!

Anyway...

I think that we are shooting for the 23rd of April. Maybe in Waco... If too many can't make it on the 23rd then we'll shoot for the 30th.

After the kids leave, I am going to go down to Waco and see if I can't secure a spot...

If anyone knows anyone in Waco, that can secure us a park or whatever as close to I35 as possible.. that would be great.

If not, we can do this @ Jess' place in Cleburne or my place in fort worth.

I CAN'T WAIT!! lol

yeah!!

Hey!!

Helenback- I was wondering where you were! I'm glad your having fun with your grandbaby.

I am going to search on the net today....and see if I can find a park in Waco. I have been meaning to do it...but been so busy.
Helenback--since we live so close to eachother...if you wanted to we could go to Waco togather to secure a spot--just a thought

I really think we should shoot for the 23rd too.

So, let us know if you are in or out for the 23rd of April...???
I think most people have agreed that Waco is a good place..if we can find a park there.....we just need to confirm on the date.

Texas size gathering (interested)

Hi, I am a newbie to these forums. I have been low carbing since 2003 and will never turn back. I am here in the DFW area and would love for me, hubby and dd to meet some other families adjusting to this new way of life. It is really difficult to find low carb support. Can you imagine, finding a group of friends that won't try to encourage you to break your lifestyle of eating no, nos at each gathering...Sounds super! Will have to check calendar for April 23rd., but maybe we could rotate areas quarterly or so.
