I'm in P'cola, Fl. Not too awfully far from ya! I have been here 1 1/2 years and have only ventured into Mobile 1 time. Don't know my way around at all.
I don't usually look at other threads other than Main Lobby or recipe help/suggestions so perhaps that is why no one else replied earlier to your post. I just happened to stumble in here & saw your post!

Funny but not a whole lot of people Low-Carb in the south - I guess we have to much good food!!

I am from Louisiana and I do not know 1 person that is doing low-carb.

I think that y'all must be right. Southern carbs are more addictive.

I do know several folks that do lo-carb in this area. My mom and dad are off and on. My next door neighbor has lost 12 pounds this year already. Some previous co-workers...

Even so, thank goodness for this website - this is my support!

Weindi-Bell - I try to make it to Mobile every so often for Old Time Pottery. Man - I wish we had one of those in Pcola. Well, on second thought, it's just as well that we don't.

Motts - what local restaraunts are you having the most success lc'ing at? I get tired of Waffle House.

well....I fell off the wagon and reinducted after the new year so I have not been eating out except a bunless Whataburger! I like to cook anyhow so I don't mind eating at home. The new Panera Bread at Cordova Mall got me in trouble before the end of the year

Shame on y'all for talkin' about Whataburger. Yum. I used to hit the one in Pcola on Palafox(?) back in the day when I would bar hop over there. That was a LONG time ago lol. Jen, nope, not her lol. You are right tho-what are the chances? Mobile isn't exactly huge lol. Werkin'it, LOVE OTP!! I try not to go in too often, b/c I ALWAYS leave with something that I dont need lol. Southern carbs are def. a brand new ball game lol. Motts, I refuse to step foot in the Panera that just opened here. What they call LC and what I call LC are 2 entirely different things!! Fitbefore30, trying to figure out where Troy is w/out looking at the map

Has anyone tried to put together a gathering for the coast/panhandle? Hmmm, when it gets warmer, we'll have to try to get it together. Mardi Gras just isnt EVEN the time to think about it, huh??

I am in Jacksonville, Fla. but go to Pensacola regularly to visit my daughter. Was just there all last week.
Maybe we can plan a Pensacola gathering sometimes. Will be back there at Easter the end of this month...

when I am there in Pensacola i can call or write you if i have your address and phone #.
