Happy New Year

Hello everyone! Happy New Year! It has not been too happy here in my house. Hubby has been sick and in the hospital twice during the holidays and then I had a fall and broke my left foot. I am on crutches and a boot. I am still awaiting final analysis of my xray by the experts.

But as soon as I can begin healing I will be walking for exercise and getting back to my WOE.

Looking forward to health and healing and prosperity in the New Year!

Hi New Englanders,

Weighed in today, and joined the 180 lb club. This still boggles my mind. Even though it was only a 4 lb loss for a total of 11 lbs gone in the 4th quarter, it is the first time in these four years that I have lost weight in the 4th quarter. This month I celebrate 4 years dialing into this bulletin board.

So hope you all had a great Holiday celebration. I hope to have set realistic goals and expectations for the new year that I have control over. I don't believe in setting weight loss goals anymore because I don't have control over the number, just the actions that affect the number.

Have a good day.

PS Sorry to hear that you hurt your foot, Slimdays.

Hey guys - Man slim.... hope you get back to your 'ole self soon.

Mary - I agree with you but I have set my weight goals... I need to have the pressure to focus. I found (at least with me) without the focus... I wander.

Been pretty quiet around these parts lately...

gonnab - that isn't to say I don't focus, but I focus on the activities like writing my plan of eating down on paper each day, calling it into my sponsor, weighing my committed portions and I don't eat between meals no matter what. If I do these things without exception, it's a given that I will lose weight without focusing on the number. This year I am also committing to some form of activity aka exercise 3 times a week. That is gonna be harder that weighing my committed portions.

True enough! Hey I joined Curves here in Keene. Lots of fun... and best of all total workout in 30 minutes! They say to work out 3x per week. I have committed to myself to try for 5 but no less than 3 days per week.

Happy New Year!!!

Time to get back on track after a few "illegal" meals here and there over the holidays!

Hopefully, we can get together sometime this month!

Slim, I guess things can only get better for you! Hope you recover soon and get back on your feet, literally!

Wanna get together?

Are you from Maine or New Hampshire?

Would you be interested in meeting up somewhere?

I am in Sanford Maine, about 40 min. South from Portland and about 30 min. north of Portsmouth.

I posted in teh CC, but Sunday is better for me, unless we meet at 2:00 on a Saturday or later- my kids are really busy on Sat am. We are also skiing on Sat afternoons when the weather cooperates.

Any weekend is fine

Just popping in to say hi everybody! I have missed our meetings tho' life has been crazy!

I will join Tracie up in Kittery - I know that is far for some of the other "regulars". Anyone up for a regular 'ol meet too?

GonnaB, I've been doing Curves for over a year now and it is so nice to have such a quick workout! I do Curves 3-4 times a week and I run on the other days.

I also am doing the Discovery Channel National health Challenge and will get the free Bally's membership for 2 months! They have childcare so I am really stoked about that!!! ($2 for 2 hours). I am going to the one in Lowell right off the connector ... probably Monday, Friday and Sunday mornings and Saturday afternoon. Anyone want to join me? They have a pool! Yippeee!!

Mary Mary, I wish we lived closer, I'd invite you out for a nice hike in the woods! It sooooooo does not feel like exercise! You might consider trying that once the weather gets a bit better I bet you could drag that wonderful husband along with you for a nice romantic heart-pumping walk

I think we all need to get a glimpse of you now that you've hit Onederland!!!!

p.s. New Englanders, I also get down to Connecticut - Norwich / New London area and in summer to the Clinton / Saybrook area (not so far from RI) if anyone wants to try and meet when I'm down that way

Hey, Tada! - How's it going? I assume you have recovered fully from your surgery and that everything's fine. Hope you enjoyed your holidays!

I may do the Kittery meeting if I am free whatever day it is. I really think we should also plan another lunch meeting for another day. Perhaps at the end of this month or early Feb.

Welcome newbies!

Hey Pi! Hey GonnaB!

Yep, I'm recovered from my surgery - had another complication, but looks like that one is resolved too I'm weighing the same as when you guys all last saw me. I had actually gotten down to 138.5 pounds in September and for some reason totally sabotaged myself and gained 15 pounds in no time. Well, I have half of that gain gone and am working my way back down.

I'm thinking it's probably a good thing that happened, now I know that it is just as hard to lose "put on" weight than the original weight - I think for some reason, i thought it'd whoosh right off the second I stopped binge-eating - NOT! LOL!!!

Breakfast sounds good GonnaB! If it is on a Saturday, I will have to bring both of my girls though - dh has started working Saturday mornings due to a tight product schedule <sigh>

Tracie - Have you come to any conclusion on the Kittery meeting date? That might help us pick out a N. Mass/S. NH date ....

Hey Gonnab and MaryMary ~

Long time no see. I'd be up for meeting sometime. I'll keep checking to see what's going on. Feel free to PM me when something comes up.

I feel your pain, Tada! It can happen so easily! I am back on track after a few holiday transgressions.

Breakfast on a Sunday sounds good, gonnab! I may be available on 1/23 and then 2/13. Probably not 1/30 (family party) and 2/6 (Superbowl).

I can do any weekend except the weekend of 1/23 ... I'm in a concert on Sunday and a long boring dress rehearsal on 1/22 ...

We're almost sold out, but if anyone is interested in seeing Carmina Burana at The Rogers Center at Merrimac College in North Andover on afternoon of January 23, pm me and I'll buy ya a ticket - they're $15 each

Do you want to do something on 2/13, maybe as gonnab suggests, a breakfast or we could do lunch. Gonnab, didn't you say Sundays were better for you?

Tada's daughter is very cute and very well-behaved although we always do envy what she gets to order!! Especially dessert!

Hey all. Yes Sundays are best for me... Saturday my daughter has cheering until 1pm and then it seems like the day is shot... Sunday I can sneak away! Ok, So lets try and firm it up... Sunday, 2/13? Any takers? Nashua used to be an easy reach for most of us... Any suggestions?

Tada - That is a picture that was on the Patriots website. It is Tim Wakefield and Johnny Damon aitting in the dugout with Bill Belichick. I thought it was pretty neat. As far as Pedro goes - he broke my heart and I will never cheer for him again.

Anyone else up for lunch on the 13th??
