NOVA/DC area
Hey all!
I just moved from St Louis to the NOVA/DC area. I need some serious help finding the best places to buy low-carbs foods, restaurants that have atkins-friendly meals, etc. Anyone out there?? Thanks! L |

I'm in DC, but I shop more in MD than in VA. There are 2 low carb stores in Maryland - Whoa that's Low in Silver Spring, and Hold the Carbs in Rockville. Both have great variety, but can be pricey.
The best prices for the items they carry are Vitamin Shoppes. There are a lot of them in the area, including a big store at Tysons Corner (and at least one other one out your way). Ruby Tuesday, TGIF Fridays and the Mexican place at Potomac Yards ( I forget the name) have low-carb menus, but I find that I can always find something wherever I go (except a Pizza joint). Area supermarkets are doing better and better with low carb products, but they really slow my progress...real food is better. |

Thanks Tez90!
I went to the vitamin shop at Tysons yesterday, picked up some keto and atkins producs I am out of... and got them all $1-2 dollars cheaper than I could have online! I'll keep a look out for those restaurants too. Where is Potomac Yards btw? |

I remembered the name...its Don Pablos in Potomac Yards. That's the mall in Alexandria on Rt 1, just south of Old Town.
Where are you? |

Latasha, there is also a place in Herndon (K Mart Plaza) called Vitamins and More that stocks a lot of LC products, including the Keto line and the Atkins line, plus all the evil LC chocolate bars we're supposed to avoid.
In addition, there's a health food store in Sterling -- can't recall the name of it, but it's in the Yellow Pages under Health Food. They have a refrigerated/freezer section with LC pizza, Atkins ice cream, etc. We also got steered to a LC place in Leesburg near the outlet malls. In the beginning, it was the only place where we could find LC tortillas, but now they're being carried closer to home. ![]()
