Hey Pat!!! Hello Everyone!!!!!!!
Yep, surgery went ok, although I had to stay at hospital longer than expected and had a bunch of blood transfusions because I lost too much blood. I am recuperating right now - no exercise for another month ... but the kiddos are keeping me super super busy. How's everyone else doing? Inquiring minds want to know ![]() |

Hi folks,
I am back from our trip to Wyoming & Colorado. Had a great time, though the weather was cooler than here. Frontier Days reminded me of the New York State Exposition (State Fair), only instead of car racing they had rodeos. Saw two rodeos while we were there, standing room only for George Strait, and seats for Randy Travis. Went to Pike's Peak & Cave of the Winds near Colorado Springs. We were busy. I walked my buns off and it showed up on the scale. 7.5 lbs in July. One thing that amazed me is that I had the stamina to stand for 5 hours for George Strait and my son. I have never stood for 5 hours for anything. I would go to the johnnies every hour or so and sit to rest my back. It was hard and I prayed for strength when things got real bad, but it was the best concert because we were so close to the stage. I felt the electricity of it all. This was the first of seven concerts that George is doing before he retires. They were both awesome singers. So is anyone getting together this weekend or next. I am open for suggestions.

Hi Everyone
TaDa so glad you are on the road to recovery. I'm still hanging in, no loss but no gain! Have slacked off my exercise. Work pressures are huge so I'm finding I am working the hour I use to exercise. This has got to stop! Also was recently diagnosed with an enlarged liver, confirmed by ultrasound. Have a f/u appt with my MD in early Sept. I have no symptons or anything so I wonder what is going on?!? Asked the Atkins nutritionist on this board what function the liver has, etc but s/he replied "best to f/u with your MD". Have been looking on the internet to determine if this WOE may have an impact. Any other thoughts? Thanks everyone.

wheat16 - I went to Atkins.com and did a search on 'liver function' and it brought up a whole lot of articles. Hope this helps.
We are going on vacation from the 20-27th of August up to the White Mountains. And then to Connecticut for the 28-29th. Is anyone planning a gathering in September? |

Schultz hot dogs
I've always loved them but they were never the same after the big fire. Anyhow a new brand is coming out that will be the same but better. Low carb and fat and higher protein, Hannaford should have them soon with other markets to follow. Great for lunch or snack.

I think we should plan a lunch gathering for September don't you?
My mothers been pretty ill this summer so I've spent most of my free time running around to see her at her home or hospital. I haven't had much time for any social activities. |

Lunch in September sounds good to me!! Well, after Labour Day of course ....
I've missed everybody!!! (and I'm filling up some bags of clothes that don't fit, rings that don't fit and some frankenfoods that contain wheat which I no longer eat 'cause it disagrees with me - hoping some of you guys can use them!) |

Oooh! Clothes and rings?? Sounds good to me. I have been in Plymouth most of the summer. I could get together in September after Labor day.
Sorry that your Mom has not been well Pi. I know how that is. My Mom is doing okay for today. So I will keep my eyes open for a gathering date. I will not be home until after Labor Day but I do go to the library to keep up with my emails and web pages on their computers. See ya soon! |

Hi Everyone,
Today is weigh-in day for me, you know, the once a month deal. Well, by now, you know I hit 213 lbs. for a total loss of 163 lbs. WooHoo!! My sponsor reminds me it is just a number, that I record it, and get back to the business at hand, writing down my food for the day, calling it into her, reading and writing on my assigned question, and weighing & measuring the meals each day. At the end of the day I feel abstinent, grateful and committed. The vacation last week was wonderful--the best one in many a year at our time share. I think it was because my two kids had an opportunity to mend their differences, I hiked, and played golf (driving range & mini -- not the real thing yet), did the outlet route, found some good deals (like a gold filled amethyst ring at a yard sale for $2.00 -- I don't think the lady realized what she had), and I had energy and the desire to take one step at a time. I did discover that my knees are weak even after losing all this weight. I am going to investigate knee braces for hiking, so I am not deterred or afraid to do it. I missed you guys and thought of you each day, but was also proud of the fact that I was able to stay away from the computer for 10 days for a total break from routine (other than my w&m routine). Have a good one. P.S. sandy - I was just in Connecticut last weekend but we were going every minute. It was around the Waterford area. |
