Interested in getting a group together sometime in September, 2004.

I was thinking maybe a restaurant or park. I tried this on another thread and got a couple of suggestions: Taste Of Texas, Zoo...Or, like the gathering in Round Rock - Salt Grass Steak House.

Any suggestions would be helpful. There are already 3 of us going in the Houston area, hope to see ya'll there.

I think that Sept 18 would work for me. Both restaurants are very good. There is a Taste of Texas at 249 & 1960, across 249 from Willowbrook mall. There are probably other locations around town - what area of town are you thinking of meeting in?

I'm thinking the closest restaurant for the majority. Does that make any sense?? I'm SW of Houston (Rosenberg). My first thought was 59 (SW Frwy) - or maybe I-10?? I'm game, doesn't matter to me. If most of ya'll are further out that way I'll commute. I just hope it works out that we can all get together.

There is also a Salt Grass on 45 & Richey Then of course there is one of off I-10 and Campbell & I-10 and Mason.

edited to say: Im down for Taste of Texas also!!! The one off of I-10 might be the centerally located one for everyone.

Oct or Novemeber is fine with me. Have no plans for any of those weekends yet, but I need to know what you guys decided so I can ship my munchins of to MIL's house.

I say we try for the 1st weekend in Nov. just cause the last part of Oct is usually pretty busy for me.

Tracy, my love, I think you just need to set the date yourself since you are the one who started the thread. I doubt we will find any one day that will be good for everyone.

So pick a place, set a date, & let us know. If we give her lots of advanced notice I even know a poster from Washington who wants to come & eat some B~B~Q & rope some bulls with us.

Well, I was reading this thread and about to say that Sept 18th would be good for me.. but now I see it's being changed? I better wait until I see the date before saying if I can go or not... depends on DH's schedule because surely you don't want my 3 kids tagging along?? LOL

Anytime in Oct would work for me. I would not be able to meet the first 2 weekends in Nov; we already have family plans. If it works out that Nov is better for everyone else, please go ahead with the get togther then and I'll do my best to be there next time.

Would it work out better for those of you with children, if we meet in a park and have a pot luck? Oct will be cooling off enough to enjoy ourselves outdoors. Maybe we could find a park with a covered pavilion in case of bad weather. Park or restaurant, either works for me. Location is not important either, I'm willing to drive.

I'm fairly bendable - About scheduling that is. We can take a vote on who wants evening or afternoon. For us with children I'm thinking it may be easier for late afternoon / early evening. Anyway, we'll take a vote.

I've been MIA a few days. My Momma, Aunt and one of my brother's and family live in Florida. My Momma is in Melbourne and has another home in Satellite Beach. My Aunt, 4 blocks from my Momma and my brother in Vero Beach. They all got some damage. Not anything too extensive though!! THANK GOD!!

Salt Grass Steakhouse is the plan so far. I'm thinking the date still stands too. I didn't get much - actually, not any, feed back.
