New England Low Carb Connection ----- July 2004

Hi everyone,

Wanted to get us started with a new thread for July. Hope everyone is having a great summer so far. DH and I are going to Cheyenne Wyoming for Frontier Days from the 22nd of July to the 31st. We will see two country western singers, a rodeo, and attend a buffalo BBQ. Yumm!!

What is everyone else doing this month?

Hello, I am in Providence, Rhode Island and I would be very interested in a local meet! I am new to low carbing (this is my first post on this board), but I have successfully lasted almost two weeks and I plan on lasting much longer! If anyone else is interested I thought we could also plan physical activities together. I am not sure how this usually goes, but I know I sure could use a motivator at times.

I my in Epping , NH Busy summer so far . .3 Weddings etc that seem to last 2 days. I haven't gained Headed for a seaside park for the 4th with my sisters and mother in law. We're each being our own stuff. I'm bringing lobster salad and Macaroni salad made with Dreamfields low carb pasta. It's 5 gm carbs per 2oz serving of dry pasta. It is so good. It tastes like the real thing. My MIL Is bringing diet soda and fruit and picnic plates and silverware. I'm bring a book to relax with after we eat.

Happy 4th everyone!

Today DH & I are running a concession stand at a drum & bugle show. The money we raise goes to support music & performing arts at our local high school. For the last few days we've been running around buying lots of food, drinks & supplies. We have a wonderful day for it.

Next week is vacation from the 10th to 17th. We are going to the cape.

I missed getting together in June but I guess everyone was very busy including me. Hopefully we can get something together for July. I am free on the 18th and then maybe again on the 31st.

tort! i was just in epping last weekend.... maybe we can hook up.. my families summer house is in raymond... just a hop skip and jump from you..... in fact my mom and i went to the new walmart in epping on sunday!

i am interested in a gathering too!

Hi Pearl - I'm from North Kingstown, RI. Fireworks from Newport were very disappointing. Good luck with low-carbing, I love it, I do Atkins. Everyone is so nice and helpful on the boards.

Hey I'm from CT. I have yet to make a New England meet, but some day I will. We did have a CT meet and it was fun. I'll have to work on planning another one soon. But I'll keep watching for a NE one I can make.

Laurabel420, you should have gone to South Kingston (Wakefield), they had awesome FW! To both of you in RI and anyone else there, during the summer I regularly (or try to regularly) go camping there, so maybe we could have a meet there sometime.

I usually go camping at Burlingame in Charleston. But if I have nothing planned, I don't mind driving - it is not like RI is that big. But I wouldn't know places to plan to go to, so that would be up to you RI'ers.

I'll post a separate thread for a meet in RI next time I'm going, and maybe we can get a group together.

Hi everyone,

I am going away this month but was wondering if anyone would like to get together for a 2 pm luncheon at Smokybones in Nashua NH on August 8th? I have to ask early because I may not be able to get online for a week or two near the end of July.

Just tossing this out there. That is a Sunday, by the way. Or we could do it on August 7th, the Saturday.

What do you think?

Hi everyone!!!

A couple of us from over on the Century Club are getting together in Connecticut this Saturday at Ruby Tuesday's in Waterford CT -- across from the Crystal Mall

It looks like me, Lyn_MA and Purple .. If any of you Connecticut-ers or Rhode Islanders would like to come to, let us know!!

I am running around so much this July my head is spinning. We were in Virginia Beach last week and tonight I go to CT where my kids are in camp and then back on monday for an operation in Boston (hysterectomy ++). Then I'll be stuck at home for a week and then back to CT for another week ...

All this moving around is really stressing me out! LOL!!! That last week in July I'll be in Clinton CT near Old Saybrook, etc. so if there is anyone out that way who wants to meet up, let me know. I'll be offline for the next week, but will get back on when I can!

Hi everyone! I'm back from vacation. The weather wasn't the best last week so we didn't get to go to the beach at all. However we did have a fun day at the Vineyard despite the clouds.

Mary - I may be able to go to lunch on the weekend of the 7/8th of Aug. I will have to wait and see what happens a bit. My mother hasn't been feeling well and I've had to split some time with other family members to be with her. Hopefully things will be better by then.

Tada - Best of Luck with your upcoming operation. Hopefully you'll be back on your feet in no time.
