LCFs from Philly get together....
We are planning a Philly and surrounding areas get together on 1/17/04 at Ruby Tuesdays in Plymouth Meeting. We have been chatting about it on the "Lowcarb craze in Philly" thread but I am making a seperate thread to get some more interest up. I will post a reminder in January but this is an early heads up. Anyone else interested?

I'd love to go. I'm up in the Allentown area, but it's not too far of a drive.

Very Cool! This will be so much fun. I can't wait.
I have to say I ate at Ruby Tuesdays this weekend. I had the burger wrap and the cheesecake. They were both scrumptious! GO RUBY'S! The funny thing is everyone at the table ordered from the lowcarb menu....and none of them eat lowcarb. One is actually devout lowfat. We are gonna have so much fun! I have to go check the playground thread now. ![]() |

I will try and make it. I live in Porth Richmond, Philadelphia and work in center city. Plymouth Meeting is not in Philly so I will have to get directions and mark this in my calendar.

Hi Linda. I sure hope you can make it! Plymouth Meeting is just outside of Philly. I suggested this one because it is right off of the blue route (I-476) which connects 76 and I-95. So it should be easy to find. The only 2 locations in Philly for Ruby's are the airport and Franklin Mills. Would you all rather Franklin Mills? We could have a vote or something. Here is a link to the Plymouth location. Click the word "map" and it will give you a mapquest map.

Kellyann:
Thank you for the map. It looks very easy to get to. Not a problem at all. I can make either one (Plymouth Meeting or Franklin Mills). I also have a girlfriend that just started back on Atkins after losing 60 pounds and I will try to get her to join us also. Can't wait. Thank you. |

Plymouth meeting is exit 25 of the turnpike and KoP is exit 24 - so yes - they are quite close! This is so cool - we may need to take a whole room of Ruby's!! I have a friend who ate at Ruby's this weekend also, and also said the cheesecake was to die for. What do you think of having everyone bring a tried and true low carb recipe or product tip with them? Can't wait till January 17th!

So KellyAnn I see the cheesecake was good huh ??? I tried to get my parents to go there last night, they wanted Outback instead. They were paying so I didn't make a fuss. But uhm I'm now afraid to eat that cheesecake from Ruby's after reading the levulose posting. YIKES !!! Just when I thought eating out was getting less-stressful...

Count this former NE Philly-now-living-in-Maple Shade, NJ-girl in!
If any other folks from my area see this maybe we can carpool! Looks like we might need a reservation!!! This will be a nice thing to look forward to after the holidays. |

Yeah star...it has me worried too. The cake was scrumptious. I am kinda glad I indulged guilt-free before the levulose thread. One girl on the playground swears her place showed her the label and it said splenda. I don't know what to think. UGH!

There's always that 'leap of faith' when you eat out! You have to believe (or not believe) that there is no hidden flour or sugar lurking on your plate disguised as low-carb!! I'd LIKE to believe that they use splenda, but who knows.
By the way - my girlfriend ordered a whole cheesecake from Ruby Tuesday's for thanksgiving and it was $40.00!! Yikes! |

They charged her the retail price per piece for the whole cake. I think it was about $5/slice. I'd pay that for the whole cake...if I knew for sure what was in it. It's really good!
