How far east? We live in N.Central Texas... but my husband is in Quitman right now for the week doing some training for his work. I am going to drive out that way probably tomorrow or the next day to be with him for a night.

Hello yes you aren't very far from me My sil lives in Van maybe we can help each other out sometime. I was on Atkins two yrs.ago then alot of stuff happen and i just can't seem to get back on track had three piece's of choc.cake yesterday

I have plenty to do just don't have the want to sometime,I eat because I'm bored.

Yes I know where Gunbarrel is. My husbands grandmother lives in Kemp. I have lost 26lbs since being on Atkins & need to loose another 90. I would love to have someone to talk to. I am 29 years old and a mother of 2 beautiful children. Just need some support & tips.

Well it looks like we have a small group going on here which is great! We will have to find a spot and get together sometime .I also have yahoo messenger as pcstewart56 so if ya'll have it look me up .I'm 47 and my 4 kids are grown so I take care of my chickens and I'm learning to can stuff from the garden.O'Yep married 31 yrs..

I think it is just getting a mind set again for me.I was soooo good and soooo proud as I had not stuck to any diet in the past few years except this one.I had not worked in 8 years but started back in Jan.and all the stuff they bring is so tempting!! So you live around Gun Barrell?? Have you eat at Bubba C's Pizza??

Goodmornin ya'll how are you all doing?Sorry I havn't been around in a bit ,but ,I do manage to get by sometime.

Well I'm still havin this problem of jumpin from one diet to another yes,I know this is not smart but in my mind I am learning a little from each one. I do know all the learning isn't going to work one bit if ya don't put it to work.

So,I have got over one big road bump I seam to have lost may taste for my cf/d/coke and not much caffen tea mostly drink water

Use to hate the stuff .Ok,Ok I still have to have my coffee in the mornin just 2 cups tho so guess that's ok .Gotta wake up you know. Anyway just wanted to say good mornin ya'll have a great day.

I see where you said you live in Jacsonville, Do you know a girl by the name of Kim Jackson. Thats her maiden name, last I heard she had 2 children. She would probably be in her early to mid 30's. She grew up there. I went to college with her in 1992 in Hillsboro & I am looking for anyone that may know her.
Anyways, I live in Murchison. Alot people have come out of the woodworks. We will all have to get together sometime to meet all of the East Texas low carbohydrate group.

Hi to all -

I am new to this site and saw your thread about East Texas. I'm not from East Texas as many of you are, but I'm from San Antonio. I started Atkins 8 weeks ago and have lost 20 lbs so far. I still have about 35 to go, but I'll make it!! I am 61 years old and the grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren, 3 boys, one girl (guess who's spoiled?) I work full time for a law firm in San Antonio and on weekends I follow my husband around to knife shows. He is a gunsmith by trade, but a knifemaker for fun, and we go to shows all over the country from Florida to California. He too is on Atkins and has lost about 25 lbs so far. It's much easier when you can do it with someone else and it's easier to prepare meals also. I have really enjoyed reading through this site, but when I saw Texas, it really caught my eye. I'd love to talk to anyone who'd like to talk this Atkins WOL or anything else.

Well, I'm sure glad you had the magic touch anyway!!!

Texas Roadhouse would be great!!! We checked it out the other night, when our friends from San Antonio were down! I really wish Rhonda (rmbigrig) (Cedar Creek Lake) could be there, when ya'll decide to do this! But she won't be home until Oct. 17th, she drives team (long haul) with her husband! But I sure plan to be there, just let me know!

***Shana- Someone has posted before, somewhere that they had a Cafe or something, where they served some LC dishes on their menu... in Murchison!! Know anything about it? And no, sweetie, I don't know a Kim Jackson, but will try and do a little research, for ya!

Kacjac - the only thing I did was keep the thread on the first page. LOL.
I added everyone to my Buddy list and will keep this updated.

I need to call Texas Roadhouse and see if they have a little area that we can *have* besides the loud restaurant where no one can talk. Spring Creek BBQ may be better since they have that room that is glassed off.

When it gets closer I'll post the get together over on the playground and send it to a few people that I know on the boards from the area.

This is exciting!!!!!!

We only have two cafes in Murchison, that is the Joe Hill Cafe & the Murchison Steak house. Can't miss them they are on HWY 31, I have eaten at both but its been awhile I will check into them both to see who serves LC & will let you know.

I live 15 miles outside of Jacksonville off Hwy. 79 next to Striker Lake. I am new to the area and would love to get together with other Adkins dieters. I am 55 years old, married, grandmother of 3. Started Adkins about 4 weeks ago and have lost 20 pounds. My husband is also doing it with me, and we both love it. I would love to hear from anyone who is close to me. We spend our winters in South Padre Island, and if we are still in Jacksonville on Oct. 18, I would love to come to the meeting in Tyler.

I am such a geek! last night I was at Drug Emporium shopping their fantastic low carb selection, when I noticed a grey haired guy watching me. He's the manager, which oddly enough I have met several times before. he pointed out a few new products and we talked for about 15 minutes. Well, I mentioned that we were getting together in October and asked if he might be interested in bringing some products for us to sample. He said that he might and for me to call him next week. COOOOLLLLLL huh?!?!?!?

Hello everyone,

Excited today I have lost 4 lbs this week & the biggest news is one more pound & I am out of the 200 club!!!! Yeah!!!! That would be neat if he could bring some things to sample. For me if we could meet on a Saturday instead of a Friday, would be better, I didn't realize the 17th was a Friday & I work on Friday nights, & would really love to meet everyone. If thats not possible maybe I will catch yall on the next meeting. Just let me know whats best for everybody.
