Newbie to LFL - introducing myself

I just wanted to give a shout out to everyone on the Low Carb Friends board, especially to those on Lean for Life. I am new here. I'm 56 years old, and have been insulin resistant all my life. But, it is never too late to start over!

I have been clean eating since January (Paleo), have lost 6 pounds since then, and just started Lindora's Lean for Life (using the book only). I am day three of my protein days and waiting for the ketostick to turn pink! Smile.

I hope that LFL can help me lose weight despite my metabolic and insulin resistance. I recently started strength training with small weights and by watching old Joyce Vedral DVDs. Joyce's enthusiasm is infectious. I have to nudge myself out of my sedentary ways by walking more and building up my muscle mass.

I am happy to get to know you all, and hope that we can all cheer each other during our respective weight loss and health-enhancing journeys.

Thanks for your welcoming words, springalong. I look forward to getting to know you. I got a big kick from your Winston Churchhill quote, "If you're going through hell, keep going." LOL!

You welcome It will be good to get to know you too!

I like, Mr. Churchill, hes the one that started that saying "Keep Calm & Carry On" It was when they were being bombed he told his country this.
There was a funny commentary that while he was in his bathtub smoking one of his cigars, he was chatting away with President FDR! LOL

I have a question, springalong. How did you get the signature at the bottom of your posts? I can't figure out how to do a signature!

And welcome Never Too Late! I'm a newbie too, happy to meet you!

Hi Skyleysmom, go to the user control panel on the far left corner and different choices will come up. I believe for some things on this site, you need to have a post count over 25 or so, hope that helps.

I looked up the origin of the Keep Calm and Carry on and it was the British Govt during WW2 NOT Churchill. Oops

That might be it! I better get to posting, because I do not see a signature option on my user cp! I was wondering because I'm a member of another group for parents of kids with juvenile diabetes and it was the same type of site and I was able to add a signature

Ya it could be that and or amount of days you've been on the site, I think around 30 or so.

Ya I guess so!

So move those little fingers! It could also be a minimum amount of days you need to be on to have that and check some of the other elusive pages in here.
