Hi all. I am starting my week 8 in my first program. :) Today is protein day!
I have increased my exercise by getting a Fitbit. :jumpjoy: After this week, I will have two weeks on the maintenance menu and than I will start my second 10 week program! I am feeling very good. Has anyone here been on the maintenance menu? I was told that our bodies get used to the lifestyle change and we need to reset for two weeks with the maintenance before starting another program. Thanks! |
I love my fitbit!
By maintance do you mean the metabolic adjustment? Or do you mean after those last two weeks on metabolic you will do 2 weeks of maintance before restarting? Either way, yes. Hubby was told after the 10th week he should take a 2 week break before starting his next program and not jump from week 10 into another program. I'm unsure what I will do. I'd prefer to keep pace with him but the last time I took two weeks off between program I gained a good 9 lbs - of course that was between Christmas, New Years and being out of state. Now I have him to keep me on track and I'd be sure to go in daily to the clinic even if I am maintance and weigh in (think I only weighed in once the last time). |
Yes, metabolic adjustment. I was told after my ten weeks, I would have a two week period for my body to adjust before I started another 10 week program.
Thank you for all your help and guidance Joann! |
Thanks Joann for your help!
I am planning ahead, and following the plan to a T, but I think I need to choose higher carb snacks to get to 50. Thanks for suggestions! |
I agree - Joann, thanks so much for all your help!
Bonkers - you are doing great! Rachlval - you are doing such a good job!! |
*throws hands up* Weighed in today at the same weight I weighed in on Friday. I know the even plateau will be brought up but I already told the one nurse that I'd only be able to do it Wed/Thur because I'll be out and about Tuesday and Friday not to even mention this weekend. Easier to maybe do straight protein days.
|
Joann, I agree... Protein days are easier! I can't cook fish at work but I can easily find convenient ways to have protein! I'm not sure it's the best option, however. I thought of doing that too, but the nurse advised against it (phone consult.)
|
If I'm at work I'll do tuna over lettuce/spinach.
My schedule changed so I started with plateau today. Thinking about it - "they" probably should have suggested AMP. |
Has anyone been able to have a glass of red wine here & there, without negative effects?
|
Can't really say anything in regards to the wine issue. Hubby and I are not drinkers.
I know I have one friend on Lindora who will drink (beer or hard liquor) and usually she just does protein days after the fact to get back into ketosis. Although last I heard from her she claimed when she is ON program she is ON and doesn't cheat. So she might have finally given up drinking while on program. It looks like 5oz of red wine is anywhere from 4-6 carbs. If you can make it fit into your carb allowance for the day....then I don't see why not depending on what you consider "here & there". And as long as that glass of wine doesn't lead to another and another plus any snacking that usually goes with drinking (although cheese and meat would be ok in my books!). I think there was a post in regards to wine & low carb on the main board you might want to check out. I'd ask the nurse just to get their thoughts :) |
Thanks Joann! I did have a glass last night, & got a buzz, which wasn't my intention! Then later read that alcohol is intensified if you drink while in ketosis! I found that to be quite true!
|
Weighed in yesterday and smashed through the plateau. I was 221. My lowest weight so far since re-starting back in July. Back when I did Lindora in 2010/2011 the lowest I went was 214........I should be able to get there in the next program. My lowest weight EVER was 200 (maybe 199 for a day) and that was a good 8 years ago. Wonderland is soooooo close.
I start metabolic on Tuesday. |
Congrats Joann! I start Metabolic Adjustment on Tuesday also! I received the information today. I hope to get throught the 3 levels and start my next weight loss program.
Have a great weekend! |
Great job Joann-you are all doing great!!!
Struggling with blahs this week - have had a nasty cough for almost 2 months and not getting any better :annoyed: Hope you all have a good weekend! |
Congrats Joann, on the loss! Sounds like you offer a lot of support on this board!
|
Just got back from a week in NY and I went off LFL for the week but I did keep it pretty low carb and I'm happy to report that I only gained 1 pound! I'm back on program tomorrow. I just had a little run in with some french fries though, so I hope at my weigh in tomorrow, I'm not up another pound! Chicken only for dinner and cheese as a snack if I need it!
Tomorrow will be my protein day and I am also getting my second lipotropic injection. Have any of you done those? The nurse said that they have seen amazing results with them. I really need to get back on track! We are going to a wedding in San Tropez at the end of May and I really want to be at my goal weight! I have 82 days... |
No to the lipotropics. Maybe if I was closer to goal - trying to get those last 10 pounds off, but right now I don't see the point of them other than they getting you to spend more money in the clinic.
With that being said, I also really don't see any results with getting the "boosters", but yet I'll buy a block of them when they are on sale and I do get one every Friday. I can't say they help. Hubby has had no luck with those boosters. He always has a weight gain after each one. |
