Started my first protein day today! Are you really only supposed to have 3 1/2 oz chicken breast for dinner?! That sure doesn't seem like much!

According to Lindora's guidelines 3.5 ounces of chicken breast would be 1 serving. But that is raw weight so once you cook it.........I'm guilty of eating 3.5 ounces of cooked chicken if not more.

But when you combine that chicken with the salad, veggie, and fruit - you will be full.

On a protein day you should be eating every 2 hours.

Hope everyone had a good Monday!
I weighed in almost a pound up. I wasn't bad on Sunday. I'm blaming too much sodium (pork rinds rather than chips) and not enough water. Hubby weighed in with a 4.5lb loss - GAH!

We did measurements yesterday. Just a little difference from measurements taken 2 weeks ago. Losing in my hips/thighs. Hubby told me my go to pants were getting too loose in those areas so I bought another pair. They feel snug but hopefully not for long.

Hi All! I finished my protein day yesterday and am moving on with my week today. I am starting week 5 (as of yesterday) and am proud to report I am down 21.2 pounds. I was told my measurements would be taken tomorrow.

Let's keep this thread going!

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks Joann. After day one I was down 1.5! I am a little light headed. Last night I realized I had only had 20 grams of carbs so I had a little snack because they told me that I should shoot for about 50-80 grams on protein days. I had some cottage cheese and some of the Lindora pretzels. Is that ok? I noticed that the protein meal plans only have one item per snack or meal, I wasn't sure if the mixing was ok but I thought I should have a few more carbs and that snack added 11.

Sounds like everyone is doing good! I weighed myself after my 3 protein days and I am down 9 pounds! Today is day 2 of weight loss days and I am doing just fine. I can't weigh every day, but probably every couple of days.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!!

Cactus - what a great start!

Ellie - yes, on protein days you should be aiming for 50-80 carbs (and eating ever 2 hours). The first 3 protein days should be structured so you are gradually decreasing from 80 to 70 to 60 carbs. On your weekly protein days you should aim to get whatever carbs range "they" tell you to hit. I think for most it is that 50-60 range. I know hubby's carb allowance was close to 80 but he had diabetic issues going on and he is slowly bringing the carb levels down. I'm assuming that if you did that groupon/6 week for $250 deal you didn't buy/get 10 boxes of their products to use on their 3 day protein plan....or else you would have followed that plan.
Don't be afraid to ask questions at the clinic. Lots of the nurses just assume "you" will know what to do. I recall fumbling my way through my 1st program. I didn't know that I was suppose to have a protein day after the 3 days on plateau.

Guess who has to do 3 days of plateau. Me!! I knew it. I was up a pound Monday, down maybe 1/2 a pound Tuesday, and right back up yesterday. While waiting for the nurse I weighed myself and just knew it would be suggested.

Thanks Joann. I have lost 4.5 lbs in my 3 protein days and my first diet day. I'm now on my 2nd diet day. Yesterday at clinic after a hike was the first time I had large ketones, they are usually trace or small. This morning after my first diet day they were trace again. I didn't eat any fruit yesterday and I'm afraid to since my ketones are so small anyway and I'm really not craving it. Is it really necessary to have fruit? I'm eating lettuce and veggies.

I bought a groupon 4 week plan for around $170. I might try to do it without the clinic after my 4 weeks are up if I haven't hit my goal.

Good luck with the plateau days, I hope they kick you back into high gear!

Congrats on the 9 lbs Cactus!

You'd have to ask at the clinic if not eating the fruit is a good idea.

I know there was one day when I was told to skip my evening fruit so I could bring the carb count down. And there has been a time or two when I might skip the fruit at lunch if hubby and I are out and about, but to just NOT eat any fruit on the plan especially when one of those fruits is suppose to be citrus ...not sure.

I eat two servings of fruit a day and have not had a problem with color on my stick. If I really want to have a lot of color, I need to put in a hard workout the day before. I've also gone almost a whole 10 week program with little to no color but I was losing. No color on the stick only becomes an issue when there isn't weightloss.

Thanks Joann. You are the best! I have been losing even without much color on the stick so I will have some fruit this evening and see how I go! I have been putting lemon in my water, I wonder if I could count that as my citrus

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well. Been struggling with really bad weather these last few days - currently in the northeast for a few more weeks then moving to the southwest- can't come fast enough!!

But my program is going great - helps to be housebound I guess Anyway, I am officially down (-12) pounds my first week and feeling good!

I enjoy reading all your posts. I am keeping things very simple which I think is helping!

Have a great day.
