New to LFL & Low Carb Lifestyle

Hello Everybody! My name is Gina (DogMa—because I have a LOVE for dogs (I have 3—and they are my children!! LOL)
Anyways, I found out about LFL through a co-worker who lost over 20 lbs in 5 weeks!! On her 1st 10 days, she lost 10 lbs. and 10”. I was really impressed with her results so I decided to try it for myself! However, I waited until she had already lost over 20 lbs. Seeing how easy and fast she was able to lose her weight, I thought, what have I got to lose, but excess weight.
She gave me some protein bars that she buys, let me borrow her book (until I ordered mine, which I did), and told me which Ketostiks to buy. I bought the Lindora Fat Loss Indicator strips.
I’ve been on this wonderful plan for 10 days now and have lost 6.1 lbs. I have been going up in weight non-stop, with the last 30 in just 1.5 years! Yes! All in 2009/2010. I’m DONE trying to count points, calories and what not! I’m really liking this program—I feel as if I eat MORE and I’m shocked to actually be choosing an apple over the bread! That was a challenge ALONE!! So, I’d rather that I just stay AWAY from bread, altogether if it’s going to hinder my progress.
I have tried Atkins in the past, but I didn’t like that you couldn’t’ have NO CARBS! I love this program because I’m still allowed some carbs and I don’t feel tired!
On Wednesday, I celebrated my birthday and opted for the Gluten Free pizza and shrimp lettuce wraps! Yummmy.. however, I did have a beer. How can you go to BJ’s Brewery and NOT have a Nutty Brunette!
I was SHOCKED and PLEASED that I did NOT gain a single oz. and I STILL managed to get a reading of ketosis the next day!
So, I was scared and terrified that I had blown it---but was once again REJUVENATED and excited to get BACK on-track because I was able to “stay in the “red” zone”.
Any advice or tips you have are always welcomed! I could use all the support right now that I can get---it’s so hard when you’re cooking for 2 men that are over 6’ tall and weigh over 200 lbs!! I’m only 5’2”. But no matter what they’re eating, I know that I HAVE to do this for ME!
Sorry this is so long --- thanks for having me!!
