Every Journey Begins With the 1st Step
Hey everyone!!
I'm new to the board, not so new to dieting:blush: I was on lean for life before with GREAT success. I actually had paid to go to the clinic and went once a week bought protein supplements and followed everything to a T. But unfortunately I never stuck with the Metabolic Adjustment phase and I just did the weight loss portion and stopped going to the clinic:blush: and went it alone. Did not work out so well.... I started at 225 and ended at 180 before I went on a huge carbo-binge and now 2 years later I have gained over 100lbs. It really sucks. I have tried WW and the Spark Diet in the past couple of months with really no success like I had on LFL. So I'm coming back to it, on my own, but with renewed hope!!! I was just wondering if there is any others out there with a similar story who have succeeded? The catalyst for me right now is the fact that my husband and I want to start a family soon, and I want to have a healthy body to carry my baby in. I'm planning on starting protein days on the 2nd, I have to wait until the 1st to buy new groceries since it's payday How can you typically get in 50-100 carbs just eating regular proteins and not the lindora supplements?? Hoping I can make some supportive friends! ![]() Well thanks for reading!!! Sarah |

Hi Sarah!
I'm sure you can easily reach that 50-100 carbs without lindora products. It will just take planning those meals out beforehand. I was instructed to keep my carbs between 50-60. I have to plan the night before. I'll make adjustments to get my carbs where they need to be - my adding and erase marks are all over my book. It took me a good 5 weeks into the program and some a stern nurse to finally make it click in my head that i needed to do this. I use lindora products since its easy for me to mix up a drink while at work or else I would probably would use more "real food".

Keep at it....I too have fallen off. I had lapband surgery lost 110 lbs and gain 80 during my preganancy. So I'm right there with you. I've already been experiencing my LFL woes. I'm hoping to start using this website more as a support tool. OI've also enlisted support from a friend who too gained weight after having a baby, but she's on a different program than I. Stay strong and if you fall off...get back up again.

Hi All,
Haven't been overly active on the board lately. Congrats to you for heading back to the program, it definately works! I am 4 months in and 60 lbs lighter (with a few minor set backs along the way), using all of my own food and no Lindora products. I follow the food lists in the book and I do use a few things that are NOT on the list, but I check the nurtritional values to make sure they are A. Low carb & B. Lean. I give you credit for getting healthy before having the kiddies, i did it in reverse. Gained the weight from my first pregnancy, took most of it off with nursing but then sloooowly it piled back on, by the time i got pregnant with #2 I weighed almost what I did when i was full term with my first child! It is hard to focus on yourself when you have little rugrats demanding every ounce of youe energy - Hence, wise decision getting it handled before venturing into the wonderful world of motherhood! Many other great factors too, like a better labour & delivery for exampe! Anyways, one day I just decided, that's it! My husband is pretty sure I have gone completely off my rocker....he is just jealous!! HA! I am still on the weightloss program, I am nearing my goal and as I get closer and closer...the weight loss gets slower and slower. It was easier to take off the first 50 it seems! Keep me posted on how you are making out. Coming to this site and seeing that there are others going through the same thing as me helps me find perseverance when I am lacking the strength Good luck and stay strong! |

Hey girls!!! I had a great 1st day on the program!!
Although at this point all I've had is some cheese and yogurt I am doing pretty good I think I'm gonna make some steak for dinner and have a glass of skim milk. Even then I'm still really low on carbs, but I'm having a hard time trying to find stuff to eat to even get up to 50. Right now I'm at 17, so maybe I'll have some cottage cheese too. Any suggestions Jessica? My best friend and I go grocery shopping together every 2 weeks and she thinks I'm crazy haha, she was like I seriously can't believe ur not going to eat tacos this week!! She doesn't get that I want to lose weight so bad, but that's ok How did everyone's week go?? Outside of the dieting world I had a pretty good week, did lots of exercise, some intentional some just kinda happened. My hubby's going through a lot at work, a lot of people in the Army are just so friggin mean. I hate when they treat him bad, but there is nothing I can do ![]() Hope everyone has a great weekend, I'll try to check back in tomorrow!! |
