Lose Skin
I am very afraid of lose skin. I have a very poor quality of skin and not very much elasticity - This is proven from two pregnancies, and my Doc. mentioned the stretch marks are about the worst she has seen. I am already getting some 'gathering' skin on my belly when i pinch it - almost looks like little wrinkles. Also, I have noticed in my groin it is pretty 'pully outy' - any suggestions? I talked to my Doc last week and she said nothing can be done, if needed- a tummy tuck after I am done my weight loss is the only solution. Well, I would like to avoid major surgery if at all possible. With 60 lbs being my final goal I have another 20 to go I cant see it being THAT bad, but if there is SOME WAY to even help a little bit I would be happy.
Thanks!! |

Way too much time on my hands!

I am no help Jessica. I lost my weight very slowly and did not have sagging skin. I will chalk it up to genetics however.
I do think there has been some long discussions on this board through the years. I have been here 8 years! I would do a search and see what folks have come up with. |

I am also a fortunate one in that I have good skin. No stretch marks from my one pregnancy and when I lost 50 pounds a few years ago, no loose skin either. Now I know others have a problem and a friend that lost a bunch was going to have surgery to remove the excess skin. Some kind of skin harvesting for skin grafts through a burn center so that way she got the surgery cheaper but she had to maintain the weight loss for one year before they would operate on her.
