Sugar Free Slurpess

I'm was on day one of protein, i'm expecting the book soon (hasn't arrived). So I was really craving sweet last night, a sugar free slurpee to be exact. i resisted temptation since i'm on protein only right now and I am not fully informed on what and what is not acceptable. Does anyone know if a little sugarfree slurpee is okay? will it wreck havoc? Plus I am on the first 3 days, protein only but I must get my iced espresso with some half and half mixed it for the morning start. Is this a total no~no?

My past experience with sugar free slurpees is to stay far away from them.

Usually sugar substitutes don't bother me, but the one I had caused me tummy pain followed by the most horrid day of bathroom trips EVER!!! and I had a small. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had a large one.

If you do decide to have one, maybe check to see if they have nutritional info available. Maybe share a small one with somebody??

I do a homemade shaved ice with sugar free Torani syrup over top. That way I can control the amount of sugar. Or I'll freeze crystal light and shave that in my machine. I've never had problems with my homemade versions.

Is iced espresso just plain iced coffee with ice? Is there sugar in it? How much 1/2 and 1/2 do they put in. I know it's higher in fat that we're allowed, but we can have a cup of skim milk as a protein serving... can they make it with skim?

It's probably not terrible, it's just that the point of protein days is to kind of detox from our regular habits and get us revved up for losing mode. If it's just iced unsweetened coffee with a little milk, why not try to change to skim? It's all the little changes that add up into losses down the road.

I had to swap out my XL double doubles for XL black coffee. I do add a flavored splenda pack sometimes and I miss the creaminess.... but I think it's one of the changes that's really going to benefit me.

Good job on resisting the sweet last night!!

well the sugar free slurpees did not help keep me in ketosis, I guess I was pushing to see how far I can get away with. Well s/f slurpees kicked me off of ketosis so that answered that question.
