Net Carbs -vs- Carbs

What's the difference and do they use Net Carbs on LFL or just Total Carbs?

The clinic I go to told me to only subtract the net carbs from their product only. That's it.

So in other words...

Lindora Oatmeal Cinnamon Raisin Bar
Total Carbs 19g
Dietary Fiber 3g
Sugar 11g

Do you subtract the Fiber and sugar (Net Carbs) making it 5 carbs that you consume??

But with atkins bars etc when eaten while on the LFL program this can't be done... You have to count total carbs.

Sorry but it is confusing to me
