Summer Challenge Week of Aug 18-23
There we go. 6 days to make up for my 8 last time...LOL.
OK here's how it goes. I did a perfect protein day and followed all of my rules. I had 7 egg protein snacks and 2 chicken (breast meat and grilled). I went running for 30 minutes. The scale is fluctuating between 156 and 156.5. I hate it!!!! I need to stay off the scale...it lies! Whyyyyyy is it so hard to lose and soooooo easy to gain. OK I'll stop my whining. I want to do the plan right so I think I'll still only do the 1 protein day for now (since yesterday worked so well ) maybe its the day after a protein day... I do remember last time I did LFL I never ever lost on protein days. It was strange. So back to stage 1 eating. I'll keep it clean with no adult beverages..and no cheese.Lil..I'm sorry girl..been there. I went on a cruise with DH. and was doing Atkins at the time. I never strayed off Atkins eating but wow did eat. I remember lobster...lobster...lobster LOL. Anyways I came back having gained 7 pounds and wondering how that was possible if I stayed on the plan. But good news..it flew back off within a week or 2. It was actually easy to lose. So you can do it!!! Be strong and do your good protein day. Show me a great loss tomorrow so I can feel good that the program works..cause i am having my doubts with me...wahhhh. I really need to stop this pity party for myself. I feel thinnner so like I said the scale lies (its evil) I'm heading to work. Let me see your great losses ladies. I need good news! We are gonna be a hot bunch in a month..yup that's us..the LFL hotties..woo hoo. Jenette |

Hello me ladies!
Thanks for starting the new thread Jenette. Are you using ketone sticks? That will tell you that you're buring fat even if the scale doesn't budge. You'll know that you're on the right track. It happened to me first round and then the scale moved after a stall. I've mucked up ......again! Had a great first day, down 1.5 this moring. I started off well today until the popcorn...couldn't stop. Then of course I cracked down and ate half a bag! I'm so mad at myself. Here we go again tomorrow.I'm going to work out to a video....oh woe is me....I'm a glutten for punishment! ![]() Have a great night everyone...and yes, I know we will get there. I refuse to quit until I do.

Jenette - your scale is obviously broken - buy a new one =0) Same as my ketone sticks don't work - I think it's a faulty batch!!!!
Orrrrr maybe it's the popcorn I indulged in yesterday too (great minds eh Lil!) bought it for my kids in Target to keep them quiet for the back to school shop (bad mommy I know!) & of course, they ate about 3 pieces & I scoffed half a bag!!!! Tomorrow is another day.... xoxoxo |

Good morning ladies!!
I'm checking in. I wish I had popcorn with you ladies. You should have told me it was popcorn day. I was so starving all day Monday when I was good any only eating protein protein. Then I was so mad that the scale that lies said I didnt say I lost any weight after that (and running) that yesterday I decided what the heck..au gratin potatoes with dinner...no no no that was not supposed to happen. So in the corner with me. Breakfast..egg. I'm eating it now. Morning snack ...egg. I can do this. I did work out for 33 minutes on the elipitical yesterday. It felt good to be indoors exercising.Lil I think you are right. I need to get some ketone strips. Well after potatoes there is no need but I will hunt them down cause I will be good today. Great advice. You know I did the same..cheesy potatoes and then I said..OK I'll just go work out and it wont matter....wrong. My body did not agree with that logic. Clare..LOL buy a new one. I want a new one. I hate mine. OK the one fault to that logic is that I have 2 scales..I know I'm OCD when it comes to weighing myself. So I hop on one..get off hop on the other...go back to the first. The second scale weighs me a pound lighter But its a dial so its hard to read. I always take the digital ones answer...and it lies. I think your ketone strips are broken. I'll pick you us some new ones while I'm shopping for scales. I'll even pee on them for you and let you know how you're doing...OMG what is my problem this morning??? OK late again. I should wake up early so I can chat more. We can do this ladies!! I will get the ketone strips and a new scale..oh I need a tape measure too. I cant find mine. Jenette |

Hey ladies!
I'm really late today. I decided to make coffee for my protein snack again..lol. I did pretty good yesterday. We had food at work yesterday (cake and fruit and veggies.) I limited myself to veggies only (OK all right..and dip) Still pretty good. I also bought Thai food for dinner for my kids. I was dying cause its my fav!!!! Torture. But I only ate one teaspoon full..which I just wanted to try it. DH was spanking me as I took the spoonful..he said..no thai food!!! LOL he is so supportive. One of these days my hard work will pay off. Until then I can focus on ..my clothes are looser. That is cool. Now they are my fat clothes..so its not as cool as it could be. But I'm better off than I was 2 weeks ago. Thanks Laura..I will copy the LFL planners. I agree I need to journal. Glad your Ashley is feeling better. Poor thing. KI hate when the little ones are sick. Off to work. I'm taking my bood to copy (one more thing for them to get on me about...geeze. Jenette |

Hello Lean for Lifers,
I have had great success with this program in the past. I just returned from a mini vaction and need to buckle down for a couple of weeks until my next vacation in 2 weeks. Ok I hang out right here trying to succeed at a few protein days and weight loss days? I all ready screwed up with creamer..probably 30 calories of half, half. I may as well go black. I dont use powdered creamer due to trans fats in them. Its been a long time since I have done this...any refresher tips would be great. I am just getting ready to go walk and then I will get my 90 ounces of water started. Looking forward to getting to know you. PS: Anyone doing a protein day today? |

![]() Hi girls! I've been as good as gold today. 35 minutes on the elliptical and perfect eating. But, the day is not over yet. I was doing great with my water then saw Ashley take a swig and spit it back into the bottle...GEEZ. My goal is 5-6 pound by the 29th----remember our original goal?? Reunions, etc... Maybe 10 is too much but 5-6 is doable. LOL, my scale is always broken and my sticks are stale! Don't worry Lil, I've done great and fallen off faster that I knew what hit me. Damn popcorn. Give yourself a break, this week you have additional stress. Prayers are flying your way tomorrow, love! Anyways, my husband is going to be home a lot more. He's not driving a truck anymore...we've hired drivers. So, this is good for Laura and her diet. I can squeeze in more gym time when Ashley is napping (since now I have a sitter!) Husband home = less stress = better dieting skills!! HOORAY Clare, let's see how you are tomorrow....OREOS??? You won't need those sticks either....LOL Let's go girls. Exercise and protein! BTW, Jeanette, on days where I don't balance protein, I have a harder time losing....the plan is the perfect balance. Stick to it and the scale will move! Love you all!

Hello everyone.
Welcome aboard Chantel! "My goal is 5-6 pound by the 29th----remember our original goal?? Reunions, etc...".....Oh yes Laura, do I ever remember it! And I've muffed it up so I'm going to set myself on the same goal as you for this week. That means I have to move my bu$$ and exercise daily until next Saturday's reunion.LOL I'm on a regular menu day today. I'm wondering if I should have another 3 protein days next week to kick up the ketosis. Weight wise, total lost so far this week is 3 pounds. I feel alot better though. I had my appointment this morning and have scheduled to remove all my Thyroid in January, as this year was booked.(four month waiting period to get the surgery...ew!) The biopsy came in inconclusive, but that still does not completely rule out cancer. They will know for sure once the thyroid is out and they can look at it. Fun stuff. In the meantime and a possitive note, I have four months to reach my goal of 135. That way I can go into this surgery in better shape than I am in now. Thanks for all your prayers my friends. good afternoon my lfl friends!!
Wow what a crappy day at work. I cant say I'm doing good today cause I havent eaten much of anything. They assigned us so much work today that one girl went home crazy. Really she did. I just worked straight through lunch and took no breaks not even for bathroom. So I came home and took out my keto stix...bright purple..almost black. They were purple yesterday too. So I am doing good. And this is proof..the scale lies. Laura..thx for the advice about balancing the protein. I am so bad about that. I am a chemist so I work in a lab. I cant just grab a protein snack. So I usually double at lunch. I do the best I can. Work really interferes with any type of schedule I attempt to do. Its nice your hubby will be home to give you a break. I love going to the gym..much cooler than running. AND its just me time. Love that. We'll get there. I am hanging strong with you. Hi Chantel..welcome!! I remember you from before. You did do great!!! Creamer..not that bad..I did potatoes as my screw up. You definitely win with the much better choice on that one. Keep posting we can push each other along. Lil..My prayers for you as well as you undergo your surgery and doctor visits. I think 5-6 pounds is doable. Not for me cause my scale must be broken but if it worked I would see a 5 pound loss..LOL. I'll be working out with you..how bout that? I did do 33 min on my eliptical yesterday!!! Hey Clare!! Not much new to report here. I thought I did good yesterday. But still no movement in the scale dept. I went out last night with my friends. They wanted Itialian. I had a house salad and diet coke...woo hoo. The bread looked so yummy..but I did good no bread. I hope the weekend is full of big losses for us all. Thats my plan. Jenette |

I am on day 3 of protein days which I really do not like! I dropped 3 pounds of water weight..just goes to show, right? Vacations are wicked! hahaha Schmootz, way to go on the elliptical. Hate that machine! LMAO! cdnhockeymom, oh wow, on the thyroid surgery. Thats intense. I pray for a speedy recovery and getting all the meds all leveled out. 4 month waiting period?! lol wowza. Hang in there. Jenette, I am thinking I use such a small, tiny amount of creamer..about a teaspoon, I can burn that off. I guess I wont sweat it. Way to go on no bread. Thats a kicker for a lot of folks. I am still pushing for a protein dy today. I need to do a better job at spacing my snacks. I will say I am good to go on vitamins, water intake, and good proteins. Hello all,
Happy Sunday! I've been having a really odd weekend. Yesterday I had a major..something. I got really dizzy and queesy. It was weird. I ate some chips..I know..not the best choice but I thought ketosis was causing it. Sure enough that fixed it. Anyone ever have that??? So this morning scale still reading 156 which I thought was OK since the keto stix were now tan as can be. So today I did bonding time with my son. We went and had chicken wings..not really legal but better than most things I couldve done. I'll hit it hard again tomorrow. Hopefully no more dizzy queesy thing. Hey Chantel (stevie renee) which do you prefer? I understand the name change. I did it too for a new beginning. Way to go on the protein days!! 3 pounds is awesome!!! Yes, Jenette.. ketosis does weird things to your system. You are lucky you have a purple stick. My stick never gets purple. Lucky I hit a shade of pink.
I have been doing really well (mostly) on my plan. Eating way more protein than the diet calls for. However, I've been back at the gym every day and I'm so stinking hungry! My scale shows nothing. I'm on first day of regular eating.... more later.....CLARE---NO FRIES! Lil, glad that things are temporarily ok. You can have some relief now until the surgery. Love you sister... L |

Good morning LFLers!
Its the first day of school here and my kids are not impressed...LOL. I let my teens do a bit more back to school shopping while I went to work yesterday. Here's a funny, I forgot my phone at home so I ran the whole mall looking for them. Very tiring. So I try to find a pay phone (whats that?) I guess nobody uses them anymore. I found one and put about 50 cents into it..it would not work. It took my money it just never worked. Luckily a nice lady at a kiosk lat me use her phone to call home so DH could get a message to my kids. I told them to meet me at Dillards (not realizing there were 3 separate Dillards in that mall...LOL. We ended up at the same one remarkably enough which was not the one I was parked by. Oh my. Anyways 45 minutes of running the mall peeping in stores looking for kids counts as cardio for me. Today I'm on protein. I'm feeling yucky again. Its like hungover feeling. I don't ever remember reacting to ketosis. OK maybe this is chicken wings..they were pretty hot. I hate it when I eat clean and then do crazy (like chicken wings or alcohol) and my body totally rebels. Not nice to me. Laura, hey girl. I would gladly change purple stix for a loss on the scale...at this point even a water loss...I need something. I've never seen this purple either, it may be the brand. These are Walgreens brand?? They do go tan tho..I tried that one too with the chips. OK you and me need to get scales moving. A good protein day for me and a good regular WL day for you. Tomorrow we will come here and both be excited the scale dropped OK? Its a plan. Stevie Renee...I like the water goal. I need to do that. I think that may be why my stix are purple. I do not drink anywhere near enough. I'm following your example and taking my water bottle to work. Thx for the tip. Clare..where are the fries? I missed them. I love fries!!! well I love any potato. You know there is a diet that allows you to eat low carb all day and then a baked potato every night. Really odd something about potatoes and endorphins. I'm not ready to try that plan yet. I need LFL to get working for me. AND neither chips nor chicken wings are on LFL. Back to plan for me...and you. Hey Lil..how it goin? are you in track for 5 by the 29th. You can still do it!! You know I've lost 5 pounds overnight with this plan before..then I have also lost nuttin in awhile. I know the plan works..when I do it right. I still need to copy my daily planners. I HATE EXERCISING.. THANK GOODNESS I LOVE TO DO WATER AEROBICS. I GET MY NOODLE AND GET IN THE POOL GOTTA HAVE MUSIC TOODRINK WATER IS KEY AM TRYING TO GET IN LEAST 60-80. THIS PROGRAM DOES WORK AND GIVES YOU SO MUCH ENERGY. I I CAN DO IT AGAIN AN BE REALISTIC IN THE 2 LBS A WEEK . THIS IS KEY FOR ME..WHAT NEW PROTEIN IDEAS? OBTW MY KETOSIS STICKS MUST BE STALE TOO HAPPY DAZE HANG IN EVERY1POKEYSU |

Doing a weight loss today..salad and fish. The dressing is not ideal..a bit fatty but sigh..hard to get a good one without corn syrup. Jenette, Stevie is fine ![]() Pokie, I signed up for 2 months of water aerobics..hope I dont giggle through it all and drown myself. How hard is the work out?! Stress, get that water in girl!! You can do it! Schmootz, don't foget, if ya get hungry, eat a protein snack. Are you on wl days? Off to get my water started.. ![]() |

water exercise
WATER AEROBICS is a great way to get in some workout. It last about 45 minutes and can get rather intense. Just work up slowly to it do what you can and drink your water before during and after. ![]() some times I do have to get out and pee. ![]() Water drinking is key and having fun in a group setting to music is great motivation.
