Yeah girls....glad you're all up for the mini challenge!!!!

Down 2, 2 more to go as of today. . Don't worry about the slip Laura, just compensate with a lighter meal next time. It will balance out. I've mucked up a few times but as long as the carb intake in low, you will lose!
Plus you're working out and building muscle.

I've been taking chromium supplements every day this week. It is supposed to balance blood sugar and reduce cravings. My mother has been seeing a naturopathic doctor who recommended it to her. Everyone on my maternal side has typeII diabetes and my mom (who is in her early 60's) has not to date.

Way to go everyone! Keep on posting, good or bad!

I'm 2 down, 2 to go too - it'll all be OK til the weekend - I'm headed to a dance festival (yeah I feel a little old for it too - but my hubby built the stage for them....) with VIP & free bar - oh help me!!

Never heard of Chromium supps - sounds good though - where do you get them? GNC?

Oh & I wanted to FYI, I remember that someone was ditching their clinic after the first 10 week session??? Well, I have 3 weeks left, but was talking to one of the staff & they told me about the 'SSU' (summer shape up maybe?) plan - it's 10 weeks, but you only visit the clinic once a week - still get advice & support, its only $159.....

Hello All. Sorry for not keeping in touch. I ended up having to put my dog down a couple weeks ago and I've just been busy working. I finished up my 10 weeks with Lindora's program here in California and am doing it all on my own now as of Wednesday. I like not having to drive into the clinic every morning. I am now down 38 lbs. Just another 62 lbs to go. I've started buying the Atkins bars instead of the LFL bars. They are a lot lower in carbs. Just wonding if anyone else is usig them?

Hope you all are doing well.

bars

good grief then I am not the only one that thinks L4L bars are a tad pricy. I do use Atkins bars in a pinch. I do not like the after taste in them however. But to supplyment for a hunger attack they do the trick. Not sure if Lindora would agree. I ALWAYS HAVE the wildberry punch and BBQ puffs handy. sue

Planolady, so sorry to hear about your dog. I can only imagine....

After that, seems like my stress is stupid. Although it is really impacting my eating. I just got off the birth control pill and I'm super hungry (and horney) all the time! TMI! LOL

Little Ashley has been on Prednisone for her ears. The stuff makes her really anxious and too charged up to nap! HAHA you know what my nights are like with a cranky 2 year old.

I must say, I've been sneaking some captains and coke in the afternoon...just to bridge the gap between naptime and when my husband comes home. I know.. I need to stop that. However, my eating choices have been good. I still have those 10 pounds to lose. I hope God leads me to the right path....I've not felt my determination be so low in a long time...

YES - I use Atkins too, but I prefer the South Beach 100 calorie bars - super good, tasty too. Then I discovered the dark choc covered soy nuts - buying them was a mistake........

It's Friday!!!!!

I get the chromium from Shoppers Drug Mart here in Ontario. But from what I know they are most drug stores (over the counter with the other vitamins) The pharmacist in your area should be able to direct you to them hopefully.

I too am sorry about your dog. That must have been a very hard thing to do.

Have the doctors considered tubes for Ashley's recurrent ear infections? Sometimes a childs ears are not draining properly and ear infections will continue until the ear grows. (I sometimes wish I considered for my 8yr old who has the same ear infected regularly...I 'm not sure if it's too late for him)

I too use Atkins bars, shakes and chocolate (yum yum...for pms times). They are very low carb and get the job done!

Hang in there everyone.....one day at a time...we'll get there!

hugs to all!

Ummmmm, hello everyone. It's me, I haven't posted in while because after my last post my job closed it's doors . Well anyway, I have been feeling real sorry for myself and eating everything in sight, the higher the carb count the better. I've come to the point though where I realize that I was only using my (temporary) circumstance as an excuse to do what I've always done and that is go off of the plan and eat what I want, how much I want, and when I want. Obviously this way of eating is not working for me unless of course I want to get bigger and bigger and bigger. Anyway, with that said, I'm baaaaaack. Tomorrow marks day 1 for me again and concerning the job situation, God is a good God, when one door closes He opens another even better one . I miss you ladies and you will be hearing from me much more often.

BACK !!!! Geturdone!!!!!!!!!!! I think you and I are in the same boat kind of. My job has also been reduced to 2 days from 4 1/2 to 5 days a week starting this week. I too believe God is in it and when He closes one door another opens. He can also help us close our mouths too!!!

So, to you as you step out into this new journey. I will be starting 3 protein days starting tomorrow so here we go.....

Welcome Back Geturdone (Lil and Dana, I did it!)

I am going to start over again tomorrow too. Four pounds next week. Right girls?

The weekend was fine for me. I had 10 patients in a row on Saturday and when I went out for Sushi, I had to have some rice. It was really good. I made it through the movie with water. BTW, the Hangover is hysterical
(Proud of me, Lil??)

No worries, gals, tomorrow is another day. I get the Jillian Michaels emails and she had a big blurb about falling off the wagon and simply "getting back on". That's what we have to do.

Anyone hit the 4 pound goal for the week?

Let's do it girls...

xxox

Good Monday morning ladies!!!

Welcome back geturdone...don't beat yourself up...we've all been there and back (some of us more than once). But you're back and we're all here for each other.

I too went to the movies this weekend. Girls night out (my daughter's sleepover party that is plus me) and enjoyed watching Transformers. Popcorn, lots of it, made it to my mouth though Laura. (oh yeah, I am proud of your will power! You fought off the aroma's in there!)

I didn't make four this week, just 2, but it's better than the week before.

Yes, let's go for a four pound loss again this week girls. Let's make it happen (or try our best to) It is possible.

I did a protein day yesterday and one more today, so that I can get the ketosis going again. I'm planning to exercise everyday this week and drink up on my water. (another mini goal). Kids are home for the summer and I need to keep them busy! (or they'll drive me )

Let's burn it up this week ladies!!! We can do it. Keep on posting it helps me stay motivated and encouraged.

xo

Ok Lil,

That's just what I needed this morning. Love u, sister!

I worked out yesterday and this morning up 1.8 pounds....the corn? The icing off the cookie....who cares

Today is Monday. Protein Day 1 and a 4 pound loss this week. Going to hit it HARD!!!!!!!!!

Very busy week ahead which should help. A little worried about the 4th. However, if I'm at my sisters, I should be ok. I think I can do it. We'll all talk about our plans later. I think it helps to have a plan typed, because that's what helped me so much last time.

I have my printed daily action plan and lots of bars (ordered from lindora online during the 50% off sale). So, I have no reason to blow it.

Water is essential...yes. Lots of posting. Do we want to start a new thread each week and have the first monday morning person start the threat? Let me know what you girls think. Happy Monday and let's get into ketosis!!

xxox

SO this week for sure I will workout hard! Im leaving on my vacation soon (8 days)and am dissappointed in myself for not meeting my goal! I just have to remember that no one is perfect and try to enjoy my time regardless of how uncomfortable I feel in a bathing suit!

Im glad to hear some of you are back! Keep it going Well have a great day and lets make this week a good one!!

Day 3 of protein for me. Messed up a bit. One of my daycare parents brought oreo ice cream for a treat (her son's b-day today) and of course I licked the spoon.....several times (generous amounts on spoon )

No worries though...down 1 pound today too. Just three more to go! I too am working out using home videos. I have a gym membership which I NEVER use....yeah I know I'm paying them for nothing. I work out much better at home though.

Keep up the momentum girls....we're getting there!

Down 1 more pound My boyfriend laughs at me when I share my excitiment. Im sure you can understand! It helps keep me motivated to see any change in weight.

I was wondering what would happen if I just keep doing this and no adjustment phase? Does anyone know why they say after 10 weeks we have to do the metobolic adjustment? I want to keep going on the LFL plan till I reach my goals.

I'm about to start week 2 of my MA (doing the 10 week program). I have lost 51 lbs during this first program so far... I signed up for another 10 weeks starting july 13th. I have not been gaining at all during MA.

You are suppose to start MA after 8 weeks (at the most). If you do another 10 week session they also want you to do the prep days all over again, etc. It is not healthy to be on LFL longer than 8 weeks a time. Your body will thank you for the break before another grueling session.

WOW 51lbs - thats awesome!!!! I managed 35lbs - I have another 20lbs to go, so I signed up for another 10 weeks, but I'm doing the one day a week program - way cheaper & so much easier for me, my nearest clinic is a 25 min drive each way - that is becoming a DRAG!

1 day a week program? I don't even know anything about that. How much does that cost? Do you have to ask for it? They sure never offered it to me.

It's called the 'SSU' - I think that stands for summer shape up?? Anyway, I told them I wasn't going to continue cause of the cost & suddenly all these different plans came out of the woodwork - once/twice/three times a week. The once a week is $159 for 10 weeks. It basically gets me 10 clinic visits - so if I chose to go in twice a week, I'd only have 5 weeks - BUT I can call them as often as I want & I think after doing the program for 10 weeks already, I'm good with only once a week.

I will be sure they move me to that plan after the next 10 weeks they talked me into, which starts july 13th!

By the way - my blood pressure is 110/70 - I'm doing great!
