I just got back from Lindora. I lost 3 lbs over the weekend. This brings my total weight loss for the first 7 days of Lindora to 16.9 lbs. Now if I could get these results every week, I'd be more than happy. let's go week two!

Good Morning Everyone! I just want to say thank you so much for all of your support. I go to Lindora's clinic in Highland every morning and the gals are all so nice there, but I always feel like I am under a microscopy. If I haven't lost weight and maybe I am retaining water then they always suggests I boil or microwave a cup of water with 1/4 of a lemon in it so that I can spend the day tinkling and get the water out of my system. They are really like to see my weight go down (hey me too!), but I am not interested in spending the day in the bathroom, if you know what I mean.
![]() I was suspicious last week that I had a bladder infection. I started drinking tons of cranberry juice (it usually clears folks up), but ended up going in to see the doctor yesterday and got a prescription. I am mentioning this because he said if we don't drink enough fluids on a low carb diet we can get bladder infections more easily. I found two companies (Langers & Ocean Spray) that make sugar free cranberry juice. Langers uses Splenda and it is 1 carb per ounce. I haven't tried the Ocean Spray brand yet, but the Langers tastes good and I don't even like cranberry juice. LOL Anyways, we all need to keep pushing our fluids. I better get ready for work. I just had all of you on my mind this morning and wanted to say hi and tell each of you to have a great day. Thanks for all of your support. I know together we can all reach our goals. ![]() Dianne

My goal is to drop 20 lbs or as much as possible by July 10th. Im not sure if losing 20lbs is possible in 9 weeks...what do you think??

4quela! I am now into my 6th week and as of this morning I am down 27.3 lbs. YES! I believe you can loose your 20 lbs by July. No one with in here is perfect and most of us have made mistakes and/or slipped up on our menus, but we are ALL still losing weight. I know I am feeling so much better physically and although I get frustrated easily and wish I could eat all of the foods that used to (I really miss chocolate chip cookies! ) I also know that I can't ever go back to eating the way I used to. For me, this has been a real learning experience so far and even though I still have a long ways to go (another 97.7 lbs) and I know there are going to be days I do really well and days I do really bad....I have to stick with it. Not necessarily because I have to, but because I CAN! Not everyone has choices in all areas of their lives, but this road I am traveling right now is my choice and it's something that I know I CAN do if I stick to the program. |

I lost 1.5 lbs since yesterday's weigh in. Tomorrow is my week two protein day. I hope this will jump start me for a day with a good loss (3-4 lbs). Hang in there everyone ! |

I'm sure you will be in ketosis by tomorrow & suddenly that stick will be purple! Oh & you can TOTALLY lose 20lbs by July. Today is my 14th day & i've lost over 15lbs already. You just have to stick to it 100%, it's tough those first few days, then your body (& mind) get used to it! I actually went to dinner & movies last night with the girls & sat with only a bottle of water, they all had margaritas & burritos - gotta love that willpower!
Stick with it! xoxo |

4quela. This is a great thread with lots of wonderful people supporting each other. The more of us, the more encouragement to go around!Sheldon, you are going to have an amazing weight loss at the rate you're losing this phase. My ketone stick turned purple today. The scale hasn't budged yet...but my clothes are fitting a lot looser. I just found out that I have Hashimoto, in other words I'm becoming more hypothyroid as time progresses. Low carb is the best diet to follow with this condition. I just really need to be consistant and follow the diet without any slips.Clare nailed it on the dot! You really have to give it 100% to make it work. A question for those on the clinic program. How long do they put you on the weight loss phase? I've heard 8 weeks, followed by two weeks on metabolic adjustment. I'm curious. ![]()

Hi Lily,
I am also on the 8+2 Clinic program. When I first went in for a consultation I told the gal I wanted to loose 100 lbs over the next 2 years. I figured that would be a nice, slow way to do it and I would be able to keep the weight off once I lost it. Lindora told me that they expect me to loose 125 lbs in 50 weeks. The Clinic is pricy, but the one-on-one support and the education I have received so far has been great. I have another 4 1/2 weeks to go and I am seriously thinking of not paying for another 10 weeks, but rather seeing what I can do on my own now that I have the tools and education. I KNOW you can loose your 20 lbs by July! I believe we have a great group of people here that are very supportive and everyone seems eager to help each other reach our goals. Dianne |

60 minutes on the tradmill and a 2 mile walk = me pooped. I'll post my loss (if any) in a few hours after I have been to Lindora.

Wow is all I can say! There are so many new people that have joined us and I think that is awesome. This is really a great program and if followed will give you the results you are looking for.
Sheldon you are doing awesome and I'm glad to see you have joined us. Way to go Dianne! You have lost a lot and should be so proud. I was in Vegas and managed to keep my eating on track so I did not gain. I started metabolic adjustment today and that has been a treat. I am looking forward to getting through the next 2 weeks so I can lose my last 9 pounds. I am very excited to have a program that is working for me. I know how frustrating it is to watch what you are eating and not lose but this really does work and I am very grateful. Tammy |

Thanks for the response Dianne
I could only imagine how pricy the clinic is. We do not have any Lindora clinics here in Canada, but have several that offer the B shots and low carb diets, but nothing as good as what I've discovered and read about Lindora. And they cost ALOT! But, all things said, you've done incredibly well so far and have another 4 plus weeks to go. Personally, (just my opinion) I would try to get to my half point then go on my own. (maybe another 10 weeks) You won't be tempted to turn back once you've reach a loss of 60. It all depends on your situation too. Either choice, we are all here to keep each other encouraged and motivated. Wow Tammy! Only nine left! How much have you lost to date? Keep up the great work ![]() Have a good day everyone. ![]() |

Morning Eveyone-
It is so Nice to hear how great everyone is doing!! Just to lose 1 lb is an awesome feeling. I am on my 4th day on the LFL program and I've lost 6lbs so far that is exciting. I'm a bit worried because I am leaving for a camping trip tonight to Yosemite. I have already measured out the proper amounts of food and am hoping I can really stick to this the right way. Bad timing on my part I guess. I should still be able to enjoy life on a strict diet right? haha Hope you all have a great day and Stay focused on our Goals! |

Yes I only have another 9 to go if I can get through metabolic adjustment without gaining. In 5 weeks of lean for life I have lost 13lbs which for me is huge! I was previously eating moderate carbs and doing chalean extreme and in 3 months only lost 4-6 lbs. I think the last 9 may be a bit more stubborn to lose though because I am getting close to goal. I am actually thinking of redoing chalean extreme again possibly starting next week but my mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer so I am thinking that will be taking up alot of my time in the coming weeks. She is having surgery next week so I am thinking life is going to be getting more crazy. I want to be realistic in what I can actually schedule into my life.
4quela you can follow this even if camping. I followed it while in Vegas but just did more of an Atkins style program because with eating out it is too difficult to get exact portions. I think having your foods portioned is a great way to do it. Good luck and have fun. You can get your exercise in the great outdoors which should give you a great calorie burn. |

I lost 1.3 lbs since yesterday. I'm sort of depressed at the moment. I'm starting to feel guilty about doing Lindora and expecting my family to not eat junk around me.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom - that is really tough. I have a friend going thru that with her mom at the moment & I know how trying it can be. Stay strong & I am sending good thoughts your way. Oh & for the record I think you can totally lose that last 9lbs! What is chalean BTW???
Sheldon - you are doing so great - & don;t worry about your family, imagine how amazing you'll feel when you reach your goal & can chase the kids all over the place - I'm sure they'll let you off!! I dont know about you, but when I'm in ketosis, I'm not actually getting hungry at all - so I don't mind my kids eating stuff around me - seeing that change on the scale every morning keeps me going! Alllltthough I did steal one of my sons m&m's today........ ;0) Big hugs Clare xo |

It's Friday...hooray!!! (long story
) Sheldon, don't feel guilty. You should be proud of yourself for being a fantastic role model to your children. By doing this you will show them what determination can do, not only in weight loss but anything in life. You're showing them you love them - by becoming healthy and wanting to be in their lives for a long time to come. Your blogs are an inspiration to many of us on board and your family. We're here for you! ![]() Tammy, I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I will pray for her and your family. As for me, the scale hasn't budged yet, but the stick has been turning...just waiting for it to drop. I'm sure it will soon. ![]() Have a great weekend everyone. Good Morning everyone! It's Saturday - Yippee!
My husband, a skinny dude who has only gained 20 pounds since High School (1976) went with me to Lindora's clinic yesterday. He was curious to see where I go every morning and meet the folks there who are helping me. He really liked the place and the people and was impressed with the whole facility. He has been a great support factor for me. The other night he gave me a hug and we both got the giggles because he could put his arms all the way around me. What a great feeling that was for both of us. So, as of yesterday I have now lost 27.8 pounds since my 1st clinic day. If I go by the first day I walked into Lindora to talk to them about their program, then I have lost 30.1 pounds. All of this weight loss in 6 1/2 weeks. I still can't believe it! ![]() Bare with me while I say a few things to each of you. ![]() Tammy - I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I took care of my Mom for 6 years and lost her in Feb 2004. She had COPD (Chronic Obstructed Pulmonary Disease), which is a combo of chronic emphysema and bronchitis. She smoked for 40 plus years. As hard as it may be for you Tammy do your very best to be there for her. My Mom and I were best friends, so it was a no brainer for me. I will tell you that it will be the best of times AND the worst of times for both of you, but down the road you will feel good about being there for her. Lily - You hang in there! Just because your keto stick doesn't always show the color you wont doesn't mean your body isn't burning fat! I can personally vouge (spelling???) for that! I do know for me my stick is the pinkest in the morning when I first get up. I am learning to read my body signs too. If I start to feel hungery, get sweaty and/or start getting a headache then I know I have gone too long without eating so I better grab some protein. I also know that I ALWAYS lose weight if I keep my carb intake under 55 per day. I know they say you will lose weight if you keep it between 80 and 100, but again....get to know your body....you will learn what works and doesn't work for you by how your body reacts. Hang in there and I know you start seeing a difference on the scale. 4Quela - I agree Tammy....you can stay on program or close to it while camping. Plus you can enjoy the great outdoors and get some "moderate" excercise in too! And...you get to spend time with family/friends. Hey...take me with you! Okay Clare...you are such a GREAT supporter of all of us, but you need to let us all know what we might be able to do or say to help support you! ![]() Plateau's suck Sheldon! I hit a major one that lasted about 10 days. I did not try one of Lindora's plateau programs or get a Lindora "Booster Shot". Instead, I did and extra protein day every week and lowered my carb intake from 70 per day to 60. I lost 4 lbs in 1 day. I hit another plateau last week and it carried over to this week, but we (Lindor and I) believe it's because of the antibiotic I started taking last Wednesday for a bladder infection. Plus I pop 600 to 800 mg of prescription Ibuprophene a couple times a day to handle my neck and shoulder pain. (major surgery in 2006 - long story). I have seen several folks (more Dad's then Mom's) taking their kids with them to clinic and getting them involved in their (Dad/Mom) new lifestyle of eating. They are helping their kids learn now how to eat properly and I have noticed the kids have been real excited about helping their parent with the program. We all know it's not easy to watch our family and friends eat whatever they want while we have to count carbs and stick with the program. But we also all know that if we want to continue to enjoy our families and friends that we have to get healthy and stay healthy. I sound like a broken record, but Sheldon...you will learn to read your body and know when to eat, when to drink (which is always and I suck at that!) and feel when you are burning carbs and fats. You are doing a great with Lindora Sheldon! You've just hit a little bump in the road. One HUGE lesson I learned last night that I will share with you all. I made meatloaf (my husband loves my meatload) Thursday night, but ended up going to bed without eating anything. Last night we had left-over meatloaf and Ron (hubby) wanted mashed potatoes and corn. I cheated last night and had 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes and 1/2 a cup of corn. This is the very first time in 6+ weeks that I ate a dinner high in carbs with food that is not on my program. After doing dishes we both sat down on the couch to watch a little TV and I immediately fell asleep. I never realized (until last night) how eating carbs makes me so sleepy. It was a real eye opener for me. It has certainly given me the kick in the butt to stay on program now because I don't ever want to feel that tired and exhausted again simply by eating. Okay...I think I am done writing my book now. I hope we all have a great Saturday and that we all stick to our programs. Take care and again...sorry for being so long winded in this post today. ![]() Dianne |

I was there Friday. It sucks so bad! I went nuts on the walking and stuff, it was the only thing that made me feel better.
Today I weighed in 2 lbs lighter, so I'm over the plateau... just hand in there, you'll get over yours! |

Well I weighed in this morning and the computer Lindora uses to document my progress started displaying balloons on it. When I started Lindora's LFL program they told me their goal was to have me loose 10% of my body weight in 10 weeks. I am in my 7th week and I did it!
As of this morning I have lost 30 lbs and 10% of my body weight. I still have 3 weeks to go. Soooo....if I can do it then I know ALL OF YOU can do it too! Yes I do and am frustrated and I am tired of eating salad and being told to stay away from cheese and salami and I miss my chocolate chip cookies, but....I have to stick with the program. I still have a long way to go and I know it's not always going to be easy, but I have to do it, just like you guys have to do it. Soooo....hang in there and keep writing in this message board. I know we can all be successful and it's so much easier (for me) knowing you guys are out there trying to do the same thing. ![]() |

Did somebody mention plateau? Me too..day 9.
If it wasn't for Dianne's post that mentioned the 10 day plateau with an amazing weight loss in 7 weeks, I would have thrown the towel in! BTW, could I bother one of you to post the plateau diet from the Lindora clinic? Is it similar to the book? Thanks in advance![]() |
