I only restarted cause I only did one day of protein, so it was just easier to restart the protein day.
I understand cooking at home too. LOL. I cant wait for day three of protein to be over. I am hungry, not overly, but hungry none the less. Oh I did have fat free milk today for my snack. One cup. It was good. |

Red Lobster is great. Don't get lobster though, get something like tilapia, which has wonderfully high omega 3 fatty acids, and have them grill it. One fillet at Red Lobster is a protein serving, and their veggies are a vegetable serving (just make sure they steam them). Get a salad with vinegrette and you're set. I get completely stuffed at Red Lobster and still remain on program. I love it.

now u know why I restarted on my protein day. teehee.
Today is day 3 of protein. I already have dropped that menacing water weight. YAY. Feels so good. I exercise either by walking out doors or Dancing with Richard Simmons, and or WATP 2 mile. Today , after reading in the LFL book, to change out my exercises so my body doesnt get use to it... I am going to do the WATP 3 mile today. Or at least attempt it. Then tomorrow will do the Richard Simmons one, and so forth and so forth. Thanks for all the help in here. I desperately need it. LOL. I am also not planning dining out for a while. No cake for my birthday or no cake for my grandaughters birthdays in June. But I will get over it. ![]()

Wow.
You guys seriously need to learn how to make good choices. Tilapia's not the only choice there, it's just one I make a lot. Any fish there's good to have as long as it's grilled. Heck, lobster's fine as long as you don't slather it in the butter. But you lobster fans always do that. Now with the biscuits... most times I will splurge and eat one. But it's hard to eat just one, it's actually easier to eat none. Another thing to do is to take one and give the basket back, OR have my wife take one and have them take the basket back, then eat one bite of hers. Or just ask them ahead of time not to bring the biscuits. ![]() Greg

Ha ha. Greg, that was funny.
ANyhooo. Today is my first day of Weight loss. Already having a problem. Bought keto sticks yesterday. Had to find them at a little off the wall drug store in this boony town. LOL So I could not start checking on day two. I am not in ketosis. Three days of protein and keeping carbs around 60. NO CHEATS. The book says to continue to weight loss day anyhow so that is what I am doing. Had toast and egg for breakfast. I have made sure to include exercise. For two weeks now I have upped it to a good aerobic work out and light weights (watp) and or RIchard Simmons sweating to the oldies. Both are around 45 min. (WATP 3 Mile) So I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Also my water weight that left for yesterdays weigh in is back. No difference in carb count. Copied the day befores and ate correctly. On my protein day next week should I cut the carbs down? Even while on Atkins if I ate 30 carbs I would go out of ketosis. So I am trying to think of how to eat 50 to 100 and still be in ketosis and still lose weight? It seems almost impossible. I know I have to get out of the mind set of Atkins. Just hard at times. TIA!! |

Don't forget, Sheila, even if you're not in ketosis it's likely you'll lose weight because of reduced caloric intake...
Now to give you the heart of the matter. I haven't done any exercise, none, zip, in the past um... two weeks. Two weeks and two days. I've been congested something FIERCE. I did go hiking once and managed to do the stairclimber for 45 minutes about a week ago. But this congestion's hanging on. Went to the doc the other day, he gave me antibiotics and an asthma inhaler, which help, but I'm so afraid of uncontrolled coughing that I just don't want to risk it. Just imagine the amount of work I'll have when I'm better. ![]() Greg |

Just pooping in wishing you all a good holiday weekend.
I managed to go to the gym 4x this week.. and worked out 35 min each on the stairmaster. finally getting myself over the 100 floor mark... and than I do my weight machines... so that was the good part.. bad... totally over ate last night.. at the BBQ dinner.. only stuck with the protein.. well.. and one whole wheat roll.. but absolutely blew the portion, at least the food was good and great tasting and today we are back on eating light and counting fats and carbs. ![]() so breakfast we had cottage cheese and peaches.. sweetened with splenda. snack will probably be a protein shake or a yogurt.. I love the fiber one brand these days. lunch.. left over BBQ chicken from last night, lettuce, tomato, watermelon afternoon snack, protein shake dinner: lettuce, tomato, salmon fillet, mandarin slices. Greg, I am hoping you feel better soon. Is it a cold or allergies? Do you have asthma? Am I being nosy?
Weight still going in other direction. Hey gang, what can I use instead for higher carbs. The book says between 50 and 100 a day. I dont think I can do dairy. My hands are so swollen, and my face a little bit. I think that is why my weight is up. I did take my b/s reading this morn and it was 92. Now a long time ago, when eating totally carbs it was in the 230s after eating a big meal. Much better now. I have to find out what to do for my carb intake today.... HElllllpppppppppppp Have a great memorial weekend everyone. It use to fall on my birthday at the end of the month. I remember when I was little no one could come to my birthday party because they all were having bqs or going away for the weekend. We moved my party in june. LOL. Later gang~~ |

hi all!
I wanted to check in... I haven't posted for awhile... Life's kicking my butt right now ![]() I put in my two week notice at my present job... that was fun My husband's surgery (3rd one) on his shoulder was Thursday.. the good news is he got to come home afterwards. He was in recovery so long I went up and down 6 flights of stairs (13 steps each flight) seven times getting prescriptions filled and running to the car to get protein snacks... needless to say I sure got my steps/cardio in for the day ![]() I've been getting light headed and dizzy when standing lately. My b.p. went down to 96/56 once a couple weeks ago when I visited the clinic and then once while I was exercising (cardio w/Richard Simmons) and so I sat down, rested, then check my b.p. ... same, mid-90's over mid 50's. So, I go to my doctor figuring she'd take me off the HCL (water pill) and potassium pills (which she did). I didn't plan on her putting me on an IV and ordering stat blood tests. Apparently my b.p. was too low (100-110/55-62, they took several times, standing, sitting, lieing down). My heart rate was 43-50. Needless to say she also forbid me taking the very low dosed appetite surpressents that Lindora prescribed (which I was only taking one a day every so often... s/t two if I was out in the field or out running errands). Either way... I was okay with the orders up to stopping the program ![]() Hello, whole point of losing weight is to lower the b.p. and other stuff (chloestrol etc...) right ![]() I explained that I was on week eight/day 3 and that I'd begin metabolic adjustment next week... adding more protein/fruits&veggies/and grains to the diet. I also told her that with changing jobs I'd plan on taking a break before trying to lose the last 15 lbs. I was going to do maintance for a month or so until my life settled into a routine again. She said she wants to see me back in 3 weeks. Meanwhile she's ordering some sort of test where I where a heart harness of some sort for 24 hrs to measure my heart rate and b.p. Okay... so I've lost 100-105 lbs... my body's bouncing betw. 158 and 162 lbs; my heart rate is betweeen 43-52 and my b.p. is sometimes going to 96/52... I thought losing weight was going to make me healthier in the long run. Any thoughts? PS: my instructions fr Lindora for the weekend... regular Weight Loss menu yesterday and today.... if the doctor took me off the meds then do a protein day on Sunday and my normal protein day on Monday then Tuesday morning we would see where I'm at.

![]() ![]() I dont' have any advise on the blood pressure issue. I never had any problems with it in the past.. so hopefully the docs can figure something out for you. I was supposed to do a portein day today, but with the holiday.. decide to hold off on it until tomorrow. we are in a stall again.. sigh.. bouncing between the same numbers like you are ...except 10 lbs more or less. so... tomorrow we are back to the gym at 6am... stairmaster is calling me. Good luck with your adjustment week.. and with the bp issues.. keep us posted. |
