If I recall correctly, Brandon was at one time the registered owner of the Kimkins site, but I believe Ms. Diaz is the sole owner at this point.

I chose the Carpenters' version of "A Kind of Hush" specifically for the anorexia aspect of things. Karen was a remarkable talent, and it was truly a shame that she couldn't overcome the damage done. Even though she wasn't a victim of Kimkins, reviewing her story again really inspires me to continue this battle so that Heidi is no longer able to teach other's how to become anorexic. The sad thing about THAT is that Heidi doesn't even seem to be the slightest bit bothered by her part in leading folks into eating disorders.

Regarding the countersuit, as my idol Judge Judy says, "you can't come to court with your hands dirty and expect the court to support you. You have to come with clean hands."

Aside from that, it's only libel or slander when when it's not true.

Regarding the HD -- libel, slander- whatever -- I know-- Truth hurts -- sad but true. All of a sudden she is so weak.. and pitiful..? (She just does not roll that way ya know..)

Anguish and hardship blah blah ect -- Well that is not what I have read here on this forum and seen elsewhere - her own words -- OMG -- esp when she was in her glory .. before the Jenessa! LOL

Pride has a way of doing this..I guess her price for pride at the time was what? $49.95? So many times since then she could have made good.. and moved on. I just do get it --

Let me see if I've got this latest development straight. Heidi (aka Kimmer) starts a diet website and charges people to join. Her pull is the 100+ pounds lost in just a few months and to prove this she posts a picture of this beautiful young woman, whom she claims is her (and even posted about how the photographer posed her so she'd look so great, not to mention those young genes she has). And, since that wasn't really enough, she "borrowed" other picture and made up stories about them and how they lost on her diet (Kimkins). Many people joined her site and for a short time it was a happy place with people losing lots of weight following her plan and added advice via e-mails and posting on her board (albeit, I don't think anyone will argue that 300 to 500 calories a day is a healthy way to lose weight). But hey, that's how she did it and she had kept it off for 5 years and look how georgeous and healthy she wss and look at all of those other people who have also lost and maintained on her plan. Then came the WW article and she used even different pictures to portray herself. Many many more peopled joined (to the tune of making her a millionaire +) in a very short time. However, to a lot of people, the pictures looked nothing alike and questions were asked. Her admins started questioning how healthy the diet was and wanted the research behind it. Somehow they were no longer a part of her group and no longer had access to the site for which they had paid for a lifetime membership. More grumbling, more banning. Then her ex-partner hired a PI who managed to provide the world with evidence that Heidi was not the women in the red dress (or any of the other pictures she had used). Kimmer denied that she was Heidi, Heidi was a long-time friend and when she saw those pictures, her concern was for the PI because it was such a hot day that he took them on. Man, that story she came up with after the pictures came out always cracks me up. However, the search was on for who was that lady in the red dress. Many long hours were spent, those other success story picture (such as Bambi, the poor blind women whom Heidi met and helped while she was volunteering at the Institute for the Blind) and finally, BINGO, the lady in the red dress was actually a Russian (as were the majority of the other questionable success stories). More questions, more bannings, more issues brought to light about health aspects of Kimkins (at least as it was then, seems to have changed dramatically in the past year). People wanted refunds, people did not get refunds. One very determined lady, Janessa, decided enough was enough and found an attorney who would handle a class action lawsuit (one refund Heidi should have made). Heidi on tape during a depo admitting that she lied about her weight loss. AND now she is suing for defamation of character and interference with her ability to do business. Just when you thought the majority of the drama had played out and all that was needed was the trial court date. I just want to know how she is going to prove that defamation of character when she lied about everything until the truth was found and talked about by others. and if getting the truth out their to the unsuspecting public about her lies interfered with her once booming business, well she should never have misrepresented herself and made up all of the phony success stories. And of course she is stressed due to loss of income (not to mention loss of already gained income to pay an attorney to represent her). Hey if she is
judgment proof as she stated at least twice, why the need for an attorney?
