Clearing up a few things about me

Hi. I'm here to clear up a few things and, hopefully, to reclaim my good name. Normally I would not be concerned to have the name "Kimmer" spoken of in either a good or not-so-good manner, but since one comment points directly to a post I made in another forum, and another quotes something I had in my sig, and both are followed by comments that make somewhat disparaging remarks about "Kimmer" that leave me (and anyone else who isn't familiar with all of this) thinking you ARE speaking of me -- well, I felt I had to speak up.

I have not had the time to read all the threads regarding "Kimmer", so if this has already been clarified, then please accept my thanks and my apology.

I found this to be an interesting quote in her sig on the photoshop forum:

These posts were followed by a few posts regarding "Kimmer" making history / becoming infamous.

Since I'm the "Kimmer" y'all are quoting and referring to ... I think it's only fair that I get a chance to say ... I'm NOT the Kimmer y'all are so upset with, and I wish you hadn't been so quick in pointing others to my posts and making remarks about me without knowing for sure who I am.

Like probably 99% of the other "Kimmer's" on the net, the name was bestowed on me by a relative back when I was a newborn -- and yes, it's a nickname based on my real-deal first name.

As to me, I'm happily married for 33.5 years, and as I said, I live in Oregon. I've never been on TV, or even on the radio and I hate having my picture taken. I don't even wear dresses, so you sure wouldn't find a pic of me in a red dress anywhere around. I do muck around with our web site where we have free crochet patterns that I share, as well as photos, desktops that my husband creates and other things. I like to bake and cook -- and I eat my creations.

So you can guess that I don't diet (although I should), I don't promote diets (don't promote much of anything other than the Friends of the Library), and I don't have any problems with ducks (although I root for the Beavers vs the Ducks [Oregon college teams]). I do take pictures of all the ducks, geese, vultures, raptors, sea birds and yard birds that are around here ... and I think taunting them would only get me covered in stinky-nasty stuff and have me running for a hose and then the shower -- clothes and all. Heh!

I haven't read everything about this "Kimmer" and what she's purported to have done, but I'll admit that what little I know angers me. She's dragging my good name (and the good name of hundreds of other "Kimmer's", "Kim's" and "Kimberly's") through the mud -- and that ticks me off. Reminds me of the first time a character in a TV show was named Kimberly -- and she was a mean-hearted prostitute. Made me so angry I wrote letters to the network, show and sponsors.

Anyhow, before you label and quote (especially with links!) me (or anyone else) as "the Kimmer" ... maybe you could check just a bit further? Please.

Oh, and the forum you found me at isn't a Photoshop forum. It's a tech help forum -- mostly for Mac users, but we have some Win and Linux folks too; and we cover all kinds of software -- not just Photoshop. Trust me, if it were strictly a Photoshop forum I wouldn't be there. My Photoshop skills and $1.50 might get you a cup of java in a diner.

Welcome to our board...Thanks for clearing this up. I'm sure there are many Kimmers in the world, but our ducks freak out when they see the name..It's a knee jerk reaction for many of us.

Well, Kimmer is really Heidi, so I guess we should we refer to her as Heidi..

Mildly, I can't imagine how you ever discovered that your comments on that site were linked on a FWK thread here, but welcome to LCF.

I couldn't ask you to read every thread about Kimmer on here - that could take ages! So I'll explain to you that those threads concern our ongoing public investigation into the many frauds that Heidi Kimberly (Kimmer) Diaz has perpetuated on an unsuspecting public.

The "Ducks" are the ones who post on that thread, investigating her fraud.

In the ongoing investigation, Heidi has been found posting at various forums, usually under the name "Kimmer". She has also been known to perpetuate her fraud by photoshopping her own diet progress photos to make it look like she's lost weight.

So the search was on for proof that even though she repeatedly claims complete computer ignorance, that she is indeed quite skilled with many computer techniques, including photoshop...which is what led the Ducks to your posts.

Same name, photoshop related posts, on a tech related forum... it seemed worth looking into. Whether anyone discovered that you weren't the Kimmer we were looking for or not, I don't know - but I will point them in the direction of this post.

In the ongoing investigation, the ducks have come across a lot of leads that didn't pan out. Since Kimmer is a common screen name, it's to be expected that a lot of references to Kimmer will turn out to be a different Kimmer than the one we're investigating. But we keep looking - and discussing what we've found, because sometimes it turns out to be exactly what we're looking for, as we put the pieces of information from here and there together.

Sorry to you were dragged into this. The links to you posts were not intended to malign any innocent parties. Heidi herself is the one who has maligned the name Kimmer.

'Twas easy. Everywhere one goes on the net, a footprint is left. Many of you followed the link to the thread at TS and the admin got curious as to why, so one of them followed it back here, read some of the posts and dropped me a note about it all.

Gee, I'd love to know how to photoshop myself skinny. Especially if it translated to real life.

how were your smeared? did folk from here go to the site and openly accuse you of being the Kimmer of kimkins.con? the only thing I've seen is a link to your posts on that site was posted.

you just said an admin on your site followed the lookers back to here and dropped you a note about it. Maybe you might want to tell your admin you are not THAT kimmer but that is the only person who might be questioning your reputation that you'd need to worry about your reputation being smeared by since if you looked you'd see you were looked at and dismissed as not our kimmer.
