Ahh, all this give-and-take, the compulsive reading and posting, takes me back to the early days of this thread. Those were the days when you didn't dare go to bed (or work) or you'd find 15 new pages to catch up on when you returned.
Amy Sweetie, you don't need to apologize for wanting to set matters straight, but really, unbiased readers have no trouble understanding your written words.
So go cuddle with hubby and give your writers' cramped fingers a chance to cool down. It'll do you more good.

Sometimes, you play tiddlywinks to pass the time while you're waiting for the next big story~ every investigative reporter knows that~~

But thanks for understanding that we get off topic at times~ Don't want to bore anybody, but it's how the ducks stay bonded~ it's easy to scan right on by~ especially the farting jokes

Sooo... is there a connection between Heidi and the MCD? I remember reading that the MCD site went dead.

Just curious, since it's been a good while since MCD has been mentioned

No Tom, I do not find it insulting because being in a different time zone, I used to have one heck of a time trying to catch up back when these threads were really buzzing along and would sometimes be annoyed when I was wading through pages and pages and pages of off topic posts and would wind up giving up most of the time. Its not a problem for me now as its not as busy as it was but I can understand where these members may be coming from. I don't think it is anything personal, it never was for me.

It's OK to not make diet goals, unless you are selling "NO FASTER DIET! NONE!" and dishing out emotional abuse to people who 'just don't want it bad enough' or who can only make it a few days or weeks without falling off plan. It's OK to not make goal if you aren't using phony success stories and images that make people feel like they are failures if they can't achieve the same success the phony people, and the phony owner, did.

Edited for pre-coffee typos.

I was thinking the same thing. The fart jokes and martini requests and birthday wishes and congratulations are one liners. They break up the tension, though I don't care for the fart jokes myself - I live with it at home, TYVM! Martini talk makes me want one. Cake posts were isolated and maybe a line or two - and all were so pretty!

All of that is pretty quick to skim past. If I come here and see 4 new pages, I groan, but then find I can have 3 pages read/skimmed in 5 minutes if that's all it is. That's my perspective.

Also from my perspective, it feels like we need another thread for the Dee discourse, but there's sometimes Kimkins in there so I guess that wouldn't work. It would just be nice if people who were not interested in that debate didn't have to see it at all, yanno? People who don't even want to be involved are getting sucked into it just because it's right here and it's hard not to defend your position.

I just did some pre-coffee rambling over at Amy B's. I think I've kind of figured something out for myself. I've been trying to figure out why Dee doesn't 'get it', and why she can't see why we don't 'get' her. I don't have time to edit the comment so I'll just paste it here. It was a response to something Thinny said about long memories of LCF people.

---------------------------
Thinny, you raised a good point about LCF and long memories. The perspective of people who endured Heidi’s takeover of LCF lowcarb threads with her supreme knowledge and bullying to ‘help’ people achieve her ’success’, public humiliation of people, lying and lying and lying… that would be so much different than someone who learned of Kimkins from the lies in the magazine and is currently losing weight. Lies, not such a big deal if the diet ‘works’. But back in the Kimkins/LCF days, some people KNEW she was lying and weren’t allowed to speak out. They choose to now! Some people didn’t know she was lying and killed themselves to try to accomplish what she claimed to have done, and got emotionally and physically sick. They choose to speak out now, too.

Way, way different perspectives.

Kimkins wasn’t born the day the site was created. Just because the abuse and many of the lies have been wiped away doesn’t mean it didn’t happen and it doesn’t mean the scars are not there. People have the right to be upset about that, and to complain loudly about it! And it’s right that others would stand up for them! And to warn others not to be damaged, too! Really, would you tell someone who had been raped or attacked to shut up about it because you haven’t been?

People who don’t want hear about it can just not listen, but they have no right at all to try to muzzle people who have been wronged.

Speaking of lawsuit..
I have been in Calf very recently..I got to thinking today. Will Heidi actually go and sit in court anytime soon? I now have a better feel for Calf and think I could actually find the courthouse?

I'm in San Diego myself. I used to live in Riverside. In fact, I lived in Corona for a short time many years ago. Riverside is less than a two hour drive from here. Hmmmm...do they allow cameras and cell phones in the hallway outside the courtrooms?

I thought about making the trip to Vegas...but my sister left her husband so she's here now...not there...and we all know Heidi's not going to be there anyway

Then again.....John's letter did say something about the DA here in San Diego reviewing all of the non-confidential records in the case....maybe I could just see her at the courthouse here in San Diego..now that would be SWEET!

Good morning ducks....

The thing that connected for me...in my thought process...was that even some fruits for me could cause cravings...with KK, it is the first time ever...that I don't have cravings. That's it in a nutshell.

I don't think that I'm alone in that issue with food. Not sure that everyone who is overweight or even obese has the same issues that I do with food....but I'm sure there are others who do.

BTW...I just caught your reply in my blog. Actually, I found myself nodding in agreement with several points you made. Your right...once written in a thread, the proof is there, no need to repeat it. I am in agreement with that. I'm guessing that at one point out here, I was responding to what felt like 20 on 1, so I may very well have repeated myselt, double repeated myself and triple repeated myself. That's why I tried to move the questions to my email. In any event, thanks for the comments in the blog. I see what you were saying.

The cravings dissipate on any low-carb plan, if you reduce your carbs low enough, which is a bonus. Fat is the one thing which is difficult for the body to turn into fat cells. Everything else, protein and veg can be turned into sugar in the blood stream, and your body burns that before it burns the fat cells in the bod. South Beach doesn't require fruit. I was personally very hungry eating a low-fat diet, so I've found the high-fat, lower protein/carb is what has helped me to lose almost 75 pounds since January. The problem with Kimkins is that it's a diet taken from other people who declared that it was not meant as a long-term plan, but as a plan to jump start a slow metabolic system.

What does your menu look like in a day?

Cleo..
Your steak looks great on your blog. I have a few quick questions about how you do Atkins. Do you use a cast iron pan for your meats? If so...are they hard to clean?
Also do you find that you are a pre planner for Atkins meals ...I am finding a hard time planning foods for grab and go. With 4 kids...everything is grab and go.
Just curious if you would share some thoughts..

The MCD site is still there, but it is pretty dead, and always has been. They only have a handful of members, so how much activity can there be. It was really a boon for MCD when some of the ducks joined. They referred to the new members as "freeloaders", kicked some out, but not all. Go figure.

OYB, I totally agree that the Dee debates need to go somewhere else. From my perspective she is and always has been here to bait people into arguments.

Tom, I think it's reasonable of you to ask us to stay on topic. We do tend to get carried away at times, but I also think you should do something about people who come here for the sole purpose of telling us we're full of it and taunting us with nice things like saying the equivalent of "haha, I blogged about you!" and other such baiting. Nobody is dragging her here. She's coming in with an agenda, and it's not a pure one. It's not right that people should be pushed to the point of putting these posters on ignore. They're not a part of this community. They're just coming in here to make trouble.

Amy, I understand the emotion you are going through with this. Understand that she didn't come here to have a conversation with you or anyone. She came here to ridicule us and tell us how wrong she thinks we are. If someone sees nothing wrong with lying, cheating, and fraud, what can you say to them? Either one's moral compass is set right, or it isn't.

I've had her on ignore for days. I don't read or respond to anything she says, except that I did read her blog last night because a dear sweet, almost to goal, friend of mine asked me to...and I am accused in her comments of baiting her and taunting her. I personally am weary of the all Dee all the time debate...but I'm not a long term duck so I have just chosen to step out of that particular debate.

Amyb...I wish you didn't feel the need to defend yourself against her nonsense. We all know better about you and she's going to think what she thinks regardless of the facts. Try not to let her get under your skin. As I told you last night....I would be more concerned if she had good things to say about you...look at who she's aligned herself with....just sayin...

Cleo --

Just wanted to let you know I'm having another "all Cleo" day today: Oopsie rolls, crullers (which are kick-butt good!) and pizza with zucchini crust. Yum! Thanks for the recipes.

My DH said something funny the other day. I made him a baked potato to go with his dinner. I said, "Look, a real potato. Not cauliflower disguised as a potato." He said, "Ya, I know you -- it's probably something made out of an Oopsie." The guy still cracks me up, even after 31 years of marriage.

Or some people don't even HAVE a compass! Actually, I am a distributor for promotional products and have several compass models available. Maybe we can get some imprinted with a picture of a DUCK and hand them out at the door

Cleo--- in answer to your question...
Here is a typical day for me.
7:30 am--- EAS carb control shake or Stallone protein pudding
9:30 am--- Turkey sausage links (scrambled eggs if I so desire--but usually not)
noon--- chicken or tuna and a small salad (usually make my own dressing with mustard and Davinci SF pancake syrup--kinda a honey mustard) SF jello
2:30 pm --turkey pepperoni and string cheese or
Stallone protein pudding or
carb control yogurt
5:30 pm --chicken or fish (very rarely beef--but sometimes)
more often than not..smashed cauliflower

snack-- turkey pepperoni...laughing cow cheese

That's it.

************************************************** ****************
Amy...thank you for the email this morning. I appreciate your thoughts and comments.
************************************************** ****************

Magic--for the record...yes I did say...I put you in my blog to a few folks out here. But, like someone else blogged and called me on it...I said read their posts first and they brought my name up again. Did I get defensive...yes I did.....Did I write that on the forum...yes I did....should I have....no I should not have....but the result was that at least one person...Cleo...has responded giving some information. Information that I agreed with and giving me another perspective without slamming me. I mean you don't have to look to many posts back to see that VWV has again...pointed out that she won't see anything that I post, but she can sure drag my name up....who's baiting there. I'm not defending Heidi...I'm defending my choice of an eating plan.

Amy:

I wanted to let you know that I think you are teriffic You have tons of courage, and I so admire you. Don't ever change.

How is your DD feeling? She sure is a cutie pie. Macey is going for scans today and will be flying with her parents to Houston later this week for appointments at MD Anderson. They will be discussing possible treatment with the proton beam and maybe surgery. Her parents are so hoping she will qualify for this, because there really isn't much else out there for her.

Love your blog, too. It comes straight from the heart.
