I am so tired I could vomit.

I want to go to sleep, but my husband has major intestinal issues right now (I'm trying to be polite here). I don't even want to enter that half of the house. I'm sure I'm going to wake up in a puddle or carry shrapnel from a backwards blast.

Unfortunately, this is all part of the process that we have seen repeated many times before when folks emerge from Kimkins and start dealing with the things that happened to them while they were there and the damage that has been done to their hearts, souls and bodies.

There is shock and disbelief. There is a lot of fear to deal with. The fear of losing touch with friends; the fear of no longer having "support"; the fear of learning to eat properly again; the fear of trying to eat enough calories to sustain your body in a healthy manner; the fear of adding fat back into your WOE; the fear of the scale when it reveals a few pounds gained, and that sense of panic before it stabilizes. A general lack of feeling safe. An inability to trust anyone anymore. And there is anger. Anger because of being lied to; anger because of being banned; anger because of being separated from friends; anger because of being cut off from a support system.

Some of this is very similar to what one sees when someone tries to leave an abusive relationship, because for many people in Kimkins, that's what it really was. Being degraded for not attaining the perfection as established by the leader; being pushed into doing things that aren't healthy for you; being isolated from the outside world "for their own protection"; being told that you can not trust "the haters".

It is very hard to deal with the realization that the person you looked up to and trusted to keep you safe and to help you on your journey to weight loss is the very same one who told the lies and taught you to do things that are ultimately very dangerous for your body.

Contrary to what Heidi told you, there are plenty of places to be "safe" out here where people will try to help you repair the damage that has been done to your metabolism and your psyche. Many refugees are initially attracted to this "Fascination with Kimmer" thread because there are so many revelations to be found here. But once you get past the need for information and truth, and want to get back to tending to your body, there are plenty of other areas in LowCarbFriends and other forums like LCF, to help you learn how to eat properly; to help you find similar support to what you had at Kimkins where, unlike Kimkins, the support is coupled with information about healthy ways to lose weight.

Be patient with yourself and with your body. Don't expect that things will feel normal right away. Give yourself time to work through the broad spectrum of emotions. You will get through the shock of it all, and start to deal with things, and eventually be able to put everything into proper perspective.

We aren't "the haters" that we have been painted. We are here because we care. Some of us are former Kimkins members, now devoted to helping those just like us escape from the powerful grasp of Kimkins. Some of us are just plain folk who care about others and don't like to see anyone taken advantage of, or abused the way Heidi can abuse people who put their trust in her. This thread, in all seventeen of it's incarnations, stands as testament to the fact that we are in this fight for the duration.

So for all of you who are Kimkins refugees, we are happy that you are here with us. If you are reading this, but haven't left KK yet, we do hope you will continue to read here and understand that this thread is here FOR you; that all of us "ducks" are here to help YOU; and that we have no intention of stopping until it is safe for all the people like you. We'll keep picking flowers and pulling weeds until there isn't any Kimkins left.

Dee- That is why I asked where you stood with the Kimkins WOE and the dangers associated with the diet itself.

I was under the impression you had shared your story with Jimmy Moore for an upcoming podcast and if someone is capable of doing that...Well, I would have thought they had decided where they stood on the Kimkins diet itself.

Histrionic Personality Disorder~Worth A Read

Interesting Read....Bolding and Emphasis, Mine Just good to remember in the face of all the drama.....

What is histrionic personality disorder?

Histrionic personality disorder is one of a group of conditions called dramatic personality disorders.

People with these disorders have intense, unstable emotions and distorted self-images.

For people with histrionic personality disorder, their self-esteem depends on the approval of others and does not arise from a true feeling of self-worth.

They have an overwhelming desire to be noticed, and often behave dramatically or inappropriately to get attention. The word histrionic means "dramatic or theatrical."

This disorder is more common in women than in men and usually is evident by early adulthood.

What are the symptoms of histrionic personality disorder?
In many cases, people with histrionic personality disorder have good social skills; however, they tend to use these skills to manipulate others so that they can be the center of attention.

A person with this disorder might also:
  • Be uncomfortable unless he or she is the center of attention
  • Dress provocatively and/or exhibit inappropriately seductive or flirtatious behavior
  • Shift emotions rapidly
  • Act very dramatically—as though performing before an audience—with exaggerated emotions and expressions, yet appears to lack sincerity
  • Be overly concerned with physical appearance
  • Constantly seek reassurance or approval
  • Be gullible and easily influenced by others
  • Be excessively sensitive to criticis
