I never believed the whole cholesterol scare -- kept on eating eggs without fear. It's one of nature's complete proteins - how can it be bad? Never went to margarine. I likes my butter. And I think coffee has gotten a bad rep too. I like my Lindt 85% cocoa chocolate also. 1 square does me fine at 2 carbs.

For years my MIL has told me we are going to kill ourselves with butter, red meat, and not enough fiber because we don't eat bread or cereal. I'm tired of saying I get plenty of fiber from my veggies.

"All areas of the Service are subject to monitoring - including Private Messages - for compliance with these Terms of Service and to investigate illegal activity."
Thanks CC for pointing that out. I guess I have only skimmed the TOS. But it changed so much at kimkins, that keeping up with it was like reading war and peace, so I lost my knack for TOS reading. Even on nights when I was trying to find something to put me to sleep.

So I guess it is good that I am not plotting some fraudulent scheme that will defraud consumers and discussing it in PMs or emails then. .....whew...because we know you can't take things back.

Dee, I'm sure she gets your point and your questions. But don't count on Heidi answering you back. When it comes to avoiding an issue, I think you have met your match when it comes to Heidi. Frustrating "ain't" it though.

((AmyB)) I didn't mean for it to draw attention to you, but only to ask why it suddenly had become so vogue to post that way. I was asked here on the FWK thread, why I change my font code and font size randomly. I can't even remember by who, but it did make me think that others were thinking it was odd...but I thought so what?!?! I do -do it and guess what? I still do it.
Why? I guess because I get bored looking at the same thing. Much like me changing the furniture around. My husband has learned to not enter a room with the lights off....Ouch!
So if writing in third person is your worse flaw and Heidi thinks it's amusing, then we need to start a list of her flaws, if they want something to really laugh about over at KK.

Looks good and varied. Now just double it and drop the light mayo in favor of the real thing. You need more fat& more protein. Seriously

You'll get over your fear of fat and fear of eating more. One step at a time. My goodness, give yourself a break. Your eyes have just started to open up.

There is a wealth of Knowledge on this board and in this thread. You'll learn more each day. You'll start making better choices, slowly. This all won't be so scary, then.
Tooter's right. I'm still learning and I have been out of KK for 7 months. I learn something new every day it seems and it took me probably 4 months to realize that I was STILL not eating enough when I thought I had gone to normal Low Carb.

Baby steps.

I couldn't let this one slide by without commenting. I saw David in concert (twice) and one time, even though it wasn't Partridge Family show, he sang I Think I Love You and he walked around the club and grabbed my arm and sang a part of it to me. **screams** **dies** Really, he did. The other time, Danny Bonaduce opened the show for him and he did mostly Partridge Family songs.

Sorry for the threadjack. Carry on.

Barbara, thanks for the info. I have not been pro-active when it comes to the diabetes. Pretty dumb when you consider my mom's medical history. It seems I'm always saying, "shoot, forgot to take my BS" . I don't know what my problem is. I take a reading first thing in the a.m. most days and that's about it. Usually when I'm following a diet plan, I much better at keeping track, but it should be a way of life.

I actually visited Dr Bernsteins website a couple of times, but never read any of his books. Probably something I should seriously consider.

I still don't feel like I'm following a WOE right now. Still confused about that, but I will research again here in the forums. I'm sure it's loaded with information.

Lou- you can have David, because brother Shaun was my man. I think he was my first crush. I was in third grade and recall looking at his picture in teen beat, no less, for hours on end thinking how adorable he was. ::faints::

Dr> Bernstein has a diet book that covers just his diet. It is shorter than his original book and I think is cheaper. It may help someone with diabetes. He's great.

Cleo, I've tried atkins a few yrs ago and friends, family and my docs came down on me like I was a suicidal idiot. But I don't think kk is the solution anymore. (by the way, I'm checking out your blog, I want recipes, you made me hungry... )
if you ask them why they will be all up in your face about fat and no carbs but ask them how eating 4-6 servings of veggies a day can be unhealthy and see what they say about Atkins then. Most folk think Atkins is sipping bacon grease through a straw eating a dozen eggs with a pound of bacon for breackfast and a 1/2 a steer for dinner. Those who do and have read the book know better. maybe you could just hand your DANDR to them and say read this and when you know what I'm doing we can talk about it.

Carly welcome to 100erland whoo hoo. now turn in your expired visa to twoerville so you don't sneak back in. seriously check out cloes veggie crust pizzas lagana noodles and oopse rools. you could easily add 2 sevings of those to your plan and be much heathiler in your eating and enjoying the body fat being vaporized as you morph your body.

I am going to say one more thing on the caffeine or coffee whichever you want to look at it. The whole time I was off of it my appetite was the same and I didn't lose anything either. No caffeine will speed up you Metabolism so I see rather that it helps to lose and the coffee has antioxidants that help you to fight cancer...Two benefits in one.

it isn't really an appetite stimulant more it stimulates insulin production which does 2 things to fat based low carbs
first it removes glucose from the blood stream dropping the level which can signal hunger
and secondly insulin is a fat storing hormone so no fatty acids are being liberated from our fat cells to counter that hunger signal

as to the other chems in coffee some are healthy and some are not but there have never been any long term controlled coffee studies to determine if they help or hurt you.
