Just sayin'
Exactly. The number of posts she had here at LCF and the amount of advice she doled out, her hard and fast "rules" about food and fasts and the amount of debate that went on about any thread she touched. And yet there is no one saying "I did what she claimed to do and it worked and I maintained on it and am healthy."

She basically admits her own guilt by the proven indisputable fact that all of the before and after stories on her site were proven forgeries. Sure she can argue it was a new site and people were reluctant to "show off" their success but she had a lot of time invested here with her quackery and had a large group of believers and followers.

Something else that has bothered me right from the beginning of the unraveling of the Kimkins lies is the nagging feeling that she is not just perpetuating this fraud. That there are other internet scams she has on the go or on deck. I know that she is on other boards with other aliases looking for an opportunity like she did with low carb. I just know it.

ITA. And just want to say to Dee and Carly that this thread is not all of LCF, though I seem to spend all my time in it. There are a ton of support threads and challenges here. And there are the blogs, like Cleo's and NancyElle's wonderful recipes.

Dee, I pretty much expected that it was Heidi that asked you to blog. That's okay, though. I think it backfired on her.

I also recommend checking out Mrs.Menopausal's blog - Weighing the facts - because she has many resources on ED's and also different organizations listed that you may contact for information
Best of luck
.

Thanks, Honey. Carly, there are some self-assessment tests there if you're interested in taking them (March archives). Or, if you'd rather, I can list for you the original ED sites they're on.

WOE: ??????? low carb
Thanks for the welcome.....again

To everyone here...
(WARNING, I'M ABOUT TO UNLOAD SOME CRAP THAT WEIGHS ME DOWN. IT IS COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDABLE TO SKIM THRU OR SKIP ALLTOGETHER. JUST NEED TO GET IT OUT...)

I have to admit, though I haven't even made any changes to my WOE as yet, I already feel some weight off my shoulders. Doubt is a heavy load. It just hangs on. I guess that's why I haven't had long term success. You have to believe in what your doing. That is what truly comes forward with the LCF members...they BELIEVE in what they are doing. So why don't I believe in what I'm doing....because I just don't know what I'm doing

I know that this WOE (LC) must be what's right for me, because I keep coming back to it. But I just don't seem to get it right, because I can't do it long term. I am not afraid of commiting. I've been married since I'm 17 had 3 kids by 23 and don't regret it (well there have been times ) but seriously, I just want to be at peace with what I'm doing.

Dee, don't apologize anything. You were true to yourself and that I think is probably what is holding me back. Not being true to what I feel about all this. I respect your integrity.

If any person without weight issues ever read this they would probably tell me to get a life. But this is a big part of life for people with weight issues. It consumes me at times.

Sherri, why the move to KK in the first place. A magazine article and desperation. I needed to get weight off quick. I was put on insulin as the oral meds alone weren't enough anymore. I did accomplish getting off insulin. But as the weight went back on when I stopped the program, my numbers went right back up. So with insulin threatening it's return, desperation kicked in.

Carolyn, it's my oldest sons wedding and it's Aug 2. Not much time to lose weight so that added to that desperate feeling. But I've never done this just to look better. My mom died at 49 from a multitude of things related to her weight, heart disease, diabetes, high chol., HBP and I'm 48 and we are waiting for the arrival of our first grandchild and I want to here longer than my mom was.

Cleo, I've tried atkins a few yrs ago and friends, family and my docs came down on me like I was a suicidal idiot. But I don't think kk is the solution anymore. (by the way, I'm checking out your blog, I want recipes, you made me hungry... )

Tooter, I will have questions. Oh boy will I have questions. But thanks again for the welcome.

Thanks everyone. Really.
I promise in the future not to babble on like this. It was a sort of cleansing I guess.

Oh yeah, Jo, yes that's my 3 1/2 yr old scottie when he was a baby. Best dog I ever had.

Thanks again everyone...

Carly.... smooches and hugs... NOW EAT!!!!...Luv ya.

Thank you all for the sites to read and the tips I am not ignoring any of you and will continue down the path of research. As many of you know it is a hard habit or way to break. But I am research that is a step I NEED and HAVE to take this in small steps. Very small steps.

On to other things.,. I was the other music buff.. people did not believe the music and lyrics I knew because of my age.. but I knew stuff because I had cousins LOL

oh and I SAW THE ONE.. 198.2 I did it.. I got the 2 out of the way. Toes and FINGERS will be done so says the husband. LOL

Hi DonnaD and Carly,
I understand the confusion we have when we find out that KK was not really the correct way to do a lowcarb woe. It happened to me, too. I had read Atkins book a long time ago and I thought well this is the same. No it's not.
This forum LCF has a lot of information to help you. I read DANDR to refresh and I saw the fallacy the Heidi was spewing.
I didn't know about all her years here until I read the fascination thread.
Now, I am on the right track and although not losing weight rapidly I am maintaing my losses and have better skin, hair, and sleep, because I am following the tried and true principles of Dr. Atkins method.
Hang in there and you will succeed.

Dee!

The hubs had a gig last night, too! VP by day....rockstar by night

However, when you live with the "band"......how shall I say, I pick and choose which events I attend.

off topic....sorry...... about, oh, twenty five years ago, we were with friends and DH and his buddy were playing....wife of his buddy and I were watching....I say to wife of his buddy...."OMG, aren't they so cute????"

She said...."Yeah, during the first hundred times you see them play...."

I thought she was so cynical.....now I understand!

ps...those people are now split...... Like I said, I pick and choose my gigs/events.....

Sorry everyone..this is OT......sorry TOM!

Carly.....as in the old chat room....this one's for you....
I believe the band is Chicago
Your a hard habit to breakkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk (now where's my music smiley).

************************************************** ********
Donna--I'm trying to remember if this is a conversation that I had with you in chat......I remember someone coming in and talking about losing weight for a wedding....but there were a couple. I remember saying that they needed to look beyond the event. They could start dieting now....but I have always thought that if you were looking for an "event" or "date" you were "doomed" in the end. Even if you got the weight off by the date....then it would be a license to go nuts (hey...and nuts are okay!!!), but if you saw that you weren't making the goal for the date, then you'd give up beforehand. I've always thought that it was more a mental transition of something that you would be able to live with....once you reached the finish line. Quite frankly, I think that way of thinking is what got me this far.....because I have never reached a goal that I set for a "certain" event.

I'm glad your here and thinking. Keep reading and listen to the "voice" in your head. Follow your "head" --(leave your heart out of it...because it's like being in love in a toxic relationship--your heart will betray you--not that you know anything about that...congrats onthe successful mariage).

I hope you got to read the blog that I wrote addressing the KK community. It comes from the heart to my KK friends and you are one of my KK friends. (Somehow that blog is kinda hidden in there, and I can't figure out how to bring it out of hiding...)

NancyElle.....funny and I do get about picking & choosing gigs...I go every weekend...and while the music never gets old for me....the stage show does....LOL.

BTW--I do have to get in one snarky (at Heidi) because the guys were drinking last night and I said a little about the situation. So alcohol and things like "banning" and "super banning"....well came up with an interesting scenario....
As we were shooting the breeze and talking about the fact that in just a few short hours I went from being banned to super banned.....
One of them set the stage with Heidi and KK admin.....said...."bat man and the big red bat phone under the glass globe". said they pictured them ringing the bat phone to Heidi and her saying "oh no she didn't"... and then pushed the big red button. The conversation carried over more into Heidi being the big green JOKER, with the painted on smile.
I don't know if it was the tequila or what.....but I found that to be absolutely HILARIOUS.
AND, yes, I don't really drink that much anymore....but last night called for a couple of shots of tequila.

Carly & DonnaD. I also have an email from Jimmy Moore that has all of his interviews on PODCAST with Heidi. It is very very interesting. (if you are interested in her lies...as well as the WOE). I'm happy to forward that email to you or you can check his blog, but the blog has a lot of low carb interviews and this email has the ones with Heidi identified.
Just let me know.

Good Morning! I missed a couple of days with eye allergies and WOW!!!!! The $*&t really hit the fan. I have told you all that I lurk and seldom post, but wanted to say hello to the new "flowers" and welcome you.

Believe me, Kimkins is not the way to go. You will enjoy your food and eat much more that you have been on that other plan. AND you will be healthy. Congratulations for finding your way over here.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I really enjoy all of the research that everyone comes up with. It is very important to know what we are doing. We should have done a better job of finding that out before we started doing the KK starvation plan and getting sick and feeling like failures.

Hugs to all and keep up the good work.

omg you're a crazy woman...just like me!

I've talked about this stuff, too...I don't know if outsiders "bought it" or if they were just indulging me!

Well....I don't do tequila shots, but sometimes a shot of SOMETHING is necessary! I so love my cocktails...on plan, naturally! I do like a good margarita from time to time....with Baja Bob's mixers, of course!

Yes, from everything I've read about Heidi, I do believe she has the kind of sick mind that actually gives her pleasure to see people suffer. And I believe she hates women, and that she has contempt for the very same women who forked over their money to her.

Very wise and astute observation.
