When you eat less than 1200 calories a day your metabolism shuts itself off. Any weight you do lose is minerals and vitamins your body needs to function normally. There is no multi-vitamin pill that can replace the nutrients you get from food.
My average per day was between 800-1,100 calories! I lost my muscle mass. I have an eating disorder because my binging/purging ways were becoming a nightmare that lasted for months. |

Lora, I forgot to thank you for the hugs a page or two back. Thank you.
Yes, I'm taking both of those supplements. Dee, if you had been following all the threads for all these months and the challenges, the weed pulling, the aliases... and so on, you'd understand. I'm not being snarky, so please don't take it that way. Believe me, there's reason to question. Last edited by mrsmenopausal : 05-17-2008 at 04:32 PM. |

Carly...add a little crumbled bacon and some diced boiled eggs to your salad too. Eat dark chicken (legs and thighs) if you like it with the skin left on roasted crunchy. Have some grilled "rubbed" pork ribs w/a little lc sauce. A new favorite of ours is "loaded broccoli"...we make it at home and ask for it when we go out (Outback is great for this). Steamed broccoli, sour cream, shredded cheese and bacon. It's hard to wrap your head around, go slow. It works. |

Do you have a Kroger? Their natural sour cream is additive & filler-free and I think is 1 carb/serving. It's very tasty.
ETA: I just looked it is 1 carb for 2 TBS. Last edited by jo2621 : 05-17-2008 at 04:52 PM. |

Just because I have these thoughts pop into my head~ Do you think Heidi feels some need to 'punish' people for being overweight? It's been made clear (for over 35 years) that LC diets allow weight loss without feeling deprived, so why the spartan diet? It isn't necessary (or healthy) to cut fats to the bone and it triggers all sorts of eating/malnutrition problems~ so what's the point? Unless someone actually believes you must suffer or pay some sort of penance because you're not 'normal' weight~
anyone have any ideas on this?~~~N Last edited by Nady : 05-17-2008 at 05:50 PM. |

I found a great recipe too!
CAPTAIN MORGAN'S RUM - GINGER COOKIES 1 c. sweet butter, softened 1 c. confectioners' sugar 2 1/2 c. flour Pinch of salt 3 tbsp. crystalized ginger, minced 1 tsp. ground ginger 1/2 c. dark rum, Capt. Morgan's spiced rum, if desired In large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add remaining ingredients, shape dough into round 2 inch diameters; wrap in plastic. Refrigerate 2 hours or freeze for 45 minutes. Slice dough 1/4 inch thick. Bake at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes or until edges brown lightly. Cool.Makes about 6 dozen.
