Dee, I hope you saved out all of your PMs to/from Heidi. Maybe you could post them on your blog or give them to one of the bloggers here. Strictly up to you if you feel like taking that step. There might be some helpful stuff in there.

I am not taking away your self-esteem. Who in here is or anywhere? I want you to really look in the mirror. Look into your eyes deeply and ask these questions to yourself. "Do I like myself for what I've become?" "Am I truly happy and at peace?" "Am I a leader or a follower regarding my life?" Maybe do take one bit of advice from Kimmer's letter, "Believe in yourself."

Heidi know full well about my blog and picking flowers. Just as SL asked Laurla what Amy B blog she was talking about...after SL had posted there for days. They seem to have selective memory loss.
Dee...the fact that you posted Kimmer's private PM here must mean you have made a decision. Because if Heidi does not ban you now..I would really begin to wonder some things. Heidi..keep putting up front page ladies..and we will keep building the beautiful garden. Maybe instead of those tulips...you should of been sent a garden bouquet. |

Dee hasn't lost all her weight yet, why would Heidi think she would be leaving already just because she lost about half? SL couldn't go because she was losing and didn't want to stop.
AmyB, I'm with you...there is something fishy here and I guess we will know soon enough. We all know Heidi knows all like the great Oz! I also know for a fact that Heidi and now her Admin's DO read the PMs. Talk about nozy!! |

I hope you recognize her exceedingly patronizing attitude for what it is. We have worked to get you out of the Kimpound NOT "because you look so good" but because there is nobody we want to see go through the same consequences that many of us have with our health. I love how she slyly insinuates that it is US who are "chipping away at your self-esteem". Oh so sly, Hidey! If anything, Dee, the fact that a bunch of strangers have been for the most part kind and helpful to you in spite of how you began posting in this thread ought to be proof that you are a worthwhile human being and one that deserves a hand up and all the assistance you need or want in clearing out the KK fog and finding your way to the truth about health and weight loss. Don't be manipulated ![]()

A while back (not sure how long, sorry) I opened a window to PM another KK member. I stopped when I saw the little fine print at the bottom of the page that read "*PMs may be read due to security reasons". or something similar. I don't know how long that message has been there since I rarely used the KK PM system but it was enough to stop me in my tracks. ![]() Last edited by Locarb4me : 05-17-2008 at 07:08 AM. Doesn't this sound familiar?
If you want people to follow you as their leader, then you will have to motivate them in some form or manner. The key here is, that people will follow you as their leader, if you have taken definite and exact actions to take them some place in the future. It speaks of that old adage “Influence is what makes the leader successful”. There are a number of reasons people will follow you, but I want to share with you only four ways.
1. Make Your People Feel As If They Are The Most Important People Around. There is a real truth behind the words, “Everyone wants to feel important”. I think its one of the basic needs in any human beings life. In fact, making your people feel important is more powerful as a motivator than money, promotion, working conditions and almost anything else in life. So do whatever is possible to make your people feel important. Don’t always try and show them you have more power than the other person. That kind of behaviour will be predictable. Don’t belittle your people’s importance so that they lose their self-respect. Mary Kay Ash who built a $1-Billion-Dollar Cosmetics industry starting with only $5000-00, used this concept to absolute perfection. What was her secret? Simply this: She imagines that every person she sees has a sign on his or her head. The sign reads, “Make me feel important”. My advice: Obey this sign’s request. 2. Communicate Your Vision Effectively. If you don’t have any idea of where you are going, and how you are going to get there, then no-one will follow you. In other words, if you have no vision where you want to take your organisation or department, your group of people will rather want to follow someone else who knows where he/she wants to go.Professors Warren Bennis and Burt Nanus of the University of Southern California interviewed ninety leaders, including sixty successful CEO’s and thirty outstanding leaders from the public sector. All of them had a well thought-out vision of where they wanted their organisations to go. They said, “Their visions or intentions are compelling and pull people toward them”. People are attracted to a leader’s vision and future goals, Why? Because they recognize that through him or her, they and the organisation can become permanently successful. Here is the key again: The leader can permanently affect their organisation or department by establishing a great vision, and setting long-term goals. I can guarantee you, that without such vision for the future, your organisation will not be successful. Here’s the trick though. Your people need to know what that vision is, because a secret goal and a secret vision for the future will not get you there. The leader then is responsible for that clear communication, no-one else. 3. Treat Others As You Would Like To Be Treated Yourself. Understand, that your people will not follow you as their leader, if they know you are not interested with how they are being treated. Its simply known as the Golden Rule. So clearly establish in your own mind how you would like to be treated, then go and do the same. In other words, you need to be interested in your people’s family issues as well. Many corporate leaders today have discovered, that it is good leadership to treat family issues as business issues, and to treat the welfare of their people’s families, as a major priority. The secret is, a happy family man/woman will make a good employee. It’s the responsibility of every leader to take care of his/her people, before they care for themselves. You must put the welfare of your people before your own welfare. Do this, and people will follow you anywhere and under all circumstances.4. Take Your Responsibility To Lead Your People Seriously, And Own Up When You Make Mistakes. It is your responsibility as leader to take your people to a certain destination or to achieve a certain result. Here’s the key: Once you take on the leadership responsibility of a group of people, then you and you alone are responsible for the results of that group. Yes, you can delegate certain tasks to other people, but you can never delegate your responsibility for the group to achieve a certain result. It doesn’t even make any difference whether the group performs poorly or not, because you alone are responsible for the group’s results. So when mistakes are made, admit them, because it’s the right thing to do. If you do this, then the people in your group will give you their best trust. Fail to do this, and you will not be the leader for very long. Admitting your mistakes is a sign of strength, not weakness. As someone once said, “You must be able to underwrite the honest mistakes of your subordinates if you wish to develop their initiative and experience”. Here’s the key again: As a leader, you alone are responsible for everything those who follow you do, or fail to do. |

One thing I have learned with the whole KK , before during and after..that you can not always believe what you hear or what people say. I am not a negative person but I am not so naive either.
I also know Heidi really loves to think she has the upper hand. She loves us to think that things are one way and they are another. One thing that has been nagging at me...I kept saying..Heidi would not allow anyone to come here and say this or that about her. But that is not true. In Heidi's sick mind..if it benefits her in some odd way..she will allow and help drag her name throw the mud. My example would be SL. Do you remember when SL came here as LS and went on and on about how awful SL looked and how she must of been sitting in Heidi's lap. Mentioned Heidi and the drinking. That was SL. She was not banned..of course not...because Heidi was a part of that. Takes one sick person to not only allow those things said but to be a part of them. But then again we are talking about Heidi Diaz...AKA Kimmer. So I am sure what Heidi put in that PM to Dee was more about telling us something then telling Dee anything. Dee..I hope this is all real and the PM and the relationship with Heidi and KK is how you are showing it to be. In the long run...if there is something else going on...it only would hurt you. I think you might be getting off that fence soon. It can be a hard transataion...and as you know I am still working on it. I am here. Last edited by Amyb1569 : 05-17-2008 at 07:14 AM. |

For Dee and Carly, more reading. This paraphrases a similarly titled chapter (15) from Barry Groves' book. It serves an example of why Kimkins is not a good idea.

LoraJR, that's a really good post!
Interesting that those motivational suggestions can be used for good in the right hands and for evil in the wrong <<cough...HD's>> hands. I'm a leader too, (I hope a good one) of an international group of artists, so your C & P speaks to me in a positive way. I've been considering how I can motivate my group to reach more of their potential, etc. I would love a link to the site you got that quote from (feel free to PM me if you can). |

You know, I would like to know where all of this tender love and compassion is/was for all of us that were "successful" at KK and then disappeared.
I KNOW I am not the only one who just dropped out and left without going out a blaze of glory. I never had, not even one caring PM or email wondering where I was or what might be going on with me. Gee thanks Heidi et al. Last edited by jo2621 : 05-17-2008 at 07:29 AM. |

![]() I believe I know pretty much how you feel right now. A lot of us do. This is a place where you can bet that a lot have walked a mile in your moccasins. My advice to you is try to relax. Listen and learn. You'll hear a lot of things that will not make sense to you right now, but are truth. When I left KK, I was sick, confused and frustrated, and I brought that here and to a couple other forums with me. A lot of caring and knowledgeable folks have held my hand and helped me a lot! For me, I had to choose one of two things: 1. Realization that very low fat-low carb-low calories is a LIE. And that you will gain *some - not all* weight back as you up your fats and calories to healthy levels, keeping carbs as low as possible (for me the range has been 15-40) and actively do what you must to heal your metabolism. OR 2. Allow your desperation to lose weight at any cost blind you to the truth about eating healthy fats and "getting enough calories" to lose weight. It's counter-intuitive to most of us veteran dieters that you need enough calories to lose weight. If you choose this path, your health may deteriorate, your thyroid could start shutting down, your hair could fall out, you could develop anemia, anorexic like behavior, (or purging), gallbladder problems from lack of fat, binging behaviors from your body screaming from the long term deprivation, and a lifelong need to live at the low calorie intakes that you are now retraining your metabolism to deal with. I have all of these issues now, medically documented. I sure would hate to see someone else go down this path. |

OK...my hand is being forced. So, I guess...my big post will be today. I'm working "behind the scenes" here, but apparently since I decided to share today's PM, and the posts that follow it....I'm gonna hafta follow through. Error on my part with timing, I should have just kept the PM to myself. As of this post, I'm still not banned.
A couple things..... LoCarb4me posted: If anything, Dee, the fact that a bunch of strangers have been for the most part kind and helpful to you in spite of how you began posting in this thread ought to be proof that you are a worthwhile human being and one that deserves a hand up and all the assistance you need or want in clearing out the KK fog and finding your way to the truth about health and weight loss. I'm sorry, but I respectful disagree....The way things went down on here was likely no better for me and my self-esteem, than the things that Heidi tried to do. The BIG DIFFERENCE is, that Heidi knows she is playing mental mind games. I don't think you guys realize what you do. Not all, but many of you will nit pick the smallest of details to death. Small details are important, but they are important when you know the whole story....not when you are piecing it together. I have sat out here completely exhausted until all hours of the morning defending the most ridiculous of insinuations about me. Why? Because my credibility and integrity are important to me. I didn't get to get all my ducks in a row as I would have liked to, because I mis-calculated sharing that PM this morning. I thought that folks would read it and it would again give more credibility....but it seems that some of the posts had to again question my alliances.....so here goes. As soon as I hit enter on this message, I am going to wordpress and publishing my updated blog. There will be something missing in that blog, because I didn't get the chance to finish addressing Christin, Deni, John Tiedt, AmyB, and my KK family. I'm not sure I got to say everything that I wanted to say to Heidi...but it will have to do. Really guys...sometimes it is okay to back down and trust another is doing the "RIGHT" thing. To give breathing space. I brought Carly here...she was gathering information....the focus could have stayed on helping her....but it always comes back to me and my credibility. So, I'm going to proof the blog one more time and hit enter. I hope that in the collaterol damage... The folks that needed things from me got them. Personal Responsibility...yep...I mis-timed the posting of the PM. Contribution...yes, many here could not give me the space to do what I was really trying to do. |
