Eve..
You are right. And even when they do check it. They seem to go by different standards. I know for me when my levls get even a little out of wack..it causes me problems.
It is not a easy thing to get fixed because it is so hard to find the problem.

You know many love me ( Amy B..lol) and so many hate me ( Amy B). Kind of sad..and odd.

So ya want that list? I can talk to Amy B and get it..ha
The only people I know who may have a running list of that type of thing is Heidi or anyone defending her. That goes the same with the 'hating' part too.
We all have our quirks or tell tale signs. Talking in third person isn't that big of a deal but it was something I noticed about you. So when Dee started to do it, given how she came blazing into the thread, I picked up on it.
And that is why I asked her if it was a jab at you?
Oh, was that answered by the way?

the post that my google search brought me to was in this thread and it started, with identifying me on the home page. Then someone found me on Obesityhelp, lapbandtalk, liquiddiet, discussion board and others. After that post, someone else posted what I took to be a falsehood at the time, but may actually have just been an insinuation, that I lost my weight with the LAPBAND, not KK. That was how I originally came here. It was in the FWK thread #16 somewhere, but that's the beginning of Dee...here.

Dee- I get that - you have alluded to this infamous post, and many have searched and posted that they couldn't find it!

Why don't you tell me where it is instead of avoiding the issue?
Since you were the one offended- maybe we missed what you considered offensive.

But if it was strong enough to bring you to the thread- I would think you would know it when you saw it.

Was there a post that really brought you here and was it as you described in my quotes of you or not?

If you want people to understand why you acted the way you did when you first came on here and to give you the benefit of the doubt, then it would help to see what you saw. If that is your goal?

I also have noted that you avoid certain questions as well. So blazing on the nonspecifics and passive aggressive on the questions that require details, references or quotes.

Okay, I have a request this morning:

I'm off for another round of tent camping (pray for me!) and I do NOT want to come home to 50 pages of material to catch up on. So, how about everyone take the weekend off, hmmm?

Please, pretty please ...without sugar on top!?

But the point of this thread is to enlighten folks about how they were lied to about lowcarb eating and the need to educate ourselves. It's a constant effort to keep up with new studies.
Lauren
Boy, isn't that the truth. The media is saturated with the lies. I've been enjoying a new Reader's Digest subscription I got as a gift. It's everywhere in there. Same with most women's mags.

Yet, I see glimmers of hope. They're beginning to report positive things about fish oils and saturated fat consumption and the bad news about trans fats.

Now if the mainstream media would just get on the Taubes wavelength, along with the medical community, maybe we could hope for a turn around in the American obesity and diabetic epidemic.

I was wandering through the grocery store yesterday, reminiscing about the foods I used to believe were healthy for me. Pre-low carb, my cart would have contained whole grain pastas, brown and jasmine rices, several of those Asian noodle meals In a Box *gosh I loved those*, 12 grain bread (or Bob's bread mix in a bag since I have a bread machine which I used to use several times per month), organic honey and peanut butter (used to eat that a lot too!), red potatoes, bananas, apples and dried fruit/nut mixes which were my snack of choice along with those Terra chips (sweet potato my fave). When I ate salads, which I did often, they were about half croutons

Any wonder I'm insulin resistant? All in the name of good health.

It occurs to me I do have to thank KK for one thing: getting me started permanently on low carb eating. I may have crashed and burned my metabolism with her low fat/low carb/low calories, but I have sure learned an awful lot in the past 9 months. I still have hope that my body can heal and I can lose the rest of my tonnage this year.

Thanks to LCF and my smart friends here, and a couple other similar sites and lots of good recommended reading

Eat three meals a day allowing 5-6 hours between meals. Insulin levels need to drop, glucagon to rise and fat metabolism can begin.

Do not eat large meals and eat slowly. This allows time for hormonal signals to reach the brain. Smaller meals allow for better digetion and don't stretch the stomach, they tend to be fewer in calories as well...but not always.

Eat breakfast containing protein, if you compromise your morning protein intake you can upset the daytime hormonal levels.
Am J Clin Nutr, 2005;82(1):41-8.

Reduce the overall amount of carbs to decrease overall inflammatory effect.

This is what my reading is telling me so far.....will keep looking.

Lauren - thanks for these reminders. I have read Lyle McDonald's book, The Ketogenic Diet, where he talks about leptin, and another book specifically about Leptin (don't remember the name). I remember it had a list of things to do in order to lose weight and encourage fat burning. One of the things was letting 5 or 6 hours pass between meals.

OK, I just found the title at Amazon.

Not Lauren, but according the Leptin book I read, they've been giving us wrong information. What a surprise. The book says that eating 4 to 6 small meals throughout the day is the worst thing you can do. That doesn't give your metabolism those long periods to burn fat.

Good morning to you too AmyB!
Here is the thing. Amy-I have read here and on your blog how Heidi and those aligned with her have tried to get at you in various ways.
They find a weak spot and go for it. They may do it ever so slightly or in some cases they will be outright cruel.
But in the case of Dee using third person speak-I didn't like what I was seeing if it was being done tongue in cheek or for Heidi's amusement.

So I asked.....And I didn't get that she- Dee- had addressed the question of whether it was a jab to you or not, the first time I asked.
She said-

So Thanks

That is one of them and the rest are soon after that by others. I answerd this by linking back to it on #16 near the end somewhere. I don't think there was any accusation there. Just questions and links to info on someone who was newly on the front page of KK.

Heidi is going to have to change the next newsletter methinks?

This is from two days ago:

Ladies, the latest newsletter is in the process of mailing (takes about 2 weeks) and I want to congratulate Deedlynn, this month's success story! She's lost over 100 pounds and looks GREAT!
